I dropped the $ on a BlueForceGear 2-point. I love it. It's simple, quick to adjust, and has been worth every dollar I paid for it. My favorite is the quick adjust tab. It's easy to grab without looking at it and make on the fly adjustments a breeze.

I also got one. I had to get the one with QD swivels stitched into it but I’m fine with that. I like it a lot. Adjustment tab is slick and quick.

The Blue Force is also a favorite of mine. Ended up equipping about 4 ARs with them

BFG Vickers Sling is the best. We use it in the Army, and I use it in all civilian applications.

Jim and Mark are a pleasure to listen to. No arrogance, no pretense, no machismo. Just two great conversationalists who ask great questions of their guests and who create an engaging, informative and entertaining podcast. Well done, guys.

When I found out that a sling can be used to stabilize unsupported firing positions my mind was blown. Before that I had always viewed a sling as just a strap. I love how when I tighten down my BFG sling all the way it puts tension against my support hand and tightens up movement while aiming.

Despite being a Vet, not infantry or security so never trained to use a sling. I own slings because I appreciate the need and value. I found most informative section to be about wearing the sling in a variety of ways. 👍

@@VortexNation Thank you, my privilege. P.S. as Aircrew I did qualify Expert Pistol and Sharpshooter Rifle 35 years ago. That has changed with age. Eyes can't focus on open sights and target simultaneously. 🤓 so I use optics. Big fan of Vortex. Love your podcasts.

The only thing I'm sensitive to about QD attachments is noise, I avoid them my AR I hunt with. Great vid, I learned a lot.

Have heard this same thing from other people. They do rattle a bit. 550 paracord can make great sling attatchment points for a no rattle/no jingle setup. I’ve seen it done a few ways but my favorite is a simple overhand knot in a small loop of 550…. Burn the end of the knot once it’s tied to melt the ends and make it not come undone, then I just push it in thru an Mlok, Keymod, or cooling slot. Just keep it away from the gas system obviously and if you wanna go the extra mile I hear rubber shrink wrap on the spots where it rubs against metal makes the paracord not wear as quickly.

Glad that multiple QD connections came up. I have 5. Two on each side and a single upfront on bottom of hand guard.

BFG Vickers Sling's are the best quality and most versatile hands down. (VTAC is similar) I used my personal one on my issued M4, then we went to great lengths to get them standard issued to all the 11B's in our unit.

All of my slings I currently use are variations of quick-adjust two-point slings. I have carbine and shotgun slings from V-TAC, Blue Force Gear and Magpul. I even have V-TAC's hunting sling on my primary hunting rifle which also quick-adjusts (gotta get more of those).

Also don't forget rubber bands to tie your sling up at the butt stock. One, it keeps your safe tidy and two, it's compact for getting in and out of cars.

I gotta find a good spot to put some on mine. I have an SB3 brace which I don’t mind too much but I can’t really get a good spot to put a band on the brace so I probably need to go around the handguard.

I would have liked to see a deep dive into types of slings. Looking more in depth and a cheap vs expensive slings. Talking about 2 points here. 3 point is kinda imo only best used for a MP5 with stock folded.
I would be curious to compare a whole plethora of company slings to see whats comfortable, what gives the most control, which brand of sling is easy to use and has convenient clasps or sliders. Maybe the sling is kinda basic and is made of quality materials vs a cheaper made sling but has a whole bunch of multiple adjustable sections and swappable pads

I’ve seen it as well. Looks not too bad for a traditional hunting rifle. Not sure I would put it on an AR. I do think it’s not bad for a traditional rifle though.

I like the BFG 2 point. They even make a 2 to 1 sling now incase you can't make up your mind. I like BFG because they are just sling webbing and attachments. Nothing friggin' too cute! K.I.S.S. keep it simple stupid!
