Memorial to Elizabeth daughter of King Charles I & Henrietta Maria. Died aged 14 Carisbrooke Castle

In 1650 Elizabeth daughter of King Charles I & Henrietta Maria died aged 14 at Carisbrooke Castle having been kept a prisoner there by Parliament.
2019 i laid some flowers for her at Newport Minster.

Went to the chrurch a year ago on a trip specially to learn about her and unfortunately they had placed a green sort of wrapper because of construction purposes which I found sad and I couldn't really llace flowers on the spot and I didn't really think about it and now I have my regrets. I do thank you for placing flowrrs because so little of her is remembered. At the time of her death, she was remembered but then it faded away until Queen Victoria decided to re-establish her memory which too I thank her for. Her death really is sad to me and should me more remembered as a symbol of resilience during a civil war.

Great to hear you were making a trip to go pay your respects to Elizabeth. It was an honour to be able to place the flowers. The least i could do, but thankful to pay tribute to her. A young life that went through so much and cruelly cut short. She is in a more fitting place now and my admiration for Queen Victoria and her care grows all the time.
