I am a fan! I started off using Asana but recently moved my own business to Clickup and have started selling Clickup setups for clients as well. I love that you can view the projects in different ways and see the data in different ways. I'm going to challenge you on the Template part. I love them and they make project setups simplified if you the business has several custom fields you need to implement AND you can report on them in the Dashboard. So I guess the simple answer is... I'm a bit of a clickup nerd.
To be completely honest my absolute favorites part of click up is the fact that it can be simple, but it can also be very structured. The flexibility to use it as a simple life planner when I need it, and a strong project manager when I need that makes it my favorite app for many things.
Thank you for inviting play with Clickup and validating not to jump in too deep right away. I was feeling a bit overwhelmed transitioning from Asana, and your video now has me feeling more ease and patience :-)
Thank you for explaining ClickUp to the rest of us. I've had it for a few months and just getting the hang of it all. I moved from Trello and haven't looked back.
@@TaraWagner I use it in board view, but that's only until the training wheels come off. 🤣 Just learning about the dashboards today was a game-changer. No more looking for links/bookmarks to important items. It's a whole new world! 💃🏻✨
Same here ... I used to use (And like) Trello a lot. Love the completeness of ClickUp and the fact I can still see my work in boards which I did like in Trello and still like as a visual "Work Dashboard". (I am not sure why other views like Lists would necessarily be better (Yet)) ClickUp IS, however, quite overwhelming because there are SO many ways to do (Same) things... Still, as you mentioned, using training wheels myself 😃.
Thank you Tara, that was helpful. I have just returned to click up after about a year and I was wondering if I should stick with Click Up this time. I think now I'm ready to go all in here. Thank you for your video.
@@TaraWagner I was using Notion for a while. But as the data volume grew I lost track of the projects, the CRM, the activities, meeting notes and goals.
Super helpful video. Watched both the 2020 version and this one. Sampling as much as I can with free before diving into the $5 plan. I'm coming from OpenProject and Taiga and so far Clickup seems better than Monday, Assana, Notion, and Hive. Fingers crossed and hopefully I wont hit the 100 usage limits so easy while sampling. Cheers and thanks for all the help! I'll be referring a couple of my friends to your videos :).
Hi, thanks for the video. You seem to know a lot about the program and I am just learning about it. Can you please clarify whether or not I can use Clickup for my photo business? For example, I want something to handle email automation to clients. So, if a new client is added, they automatically get sent a welcome email. I'd like to have proposal and contract templates that can be edited and sent to them. Once payment is received and noted in Clickup, they get sent a confirmation email. Can any of this be done in Clickup?
It sounds like you’re talking about a CRM versus a project management system. For something like what you’re saying, I’d probably look into things like Dubsado, Honeybook, etc. ClickUp will help you manage the back end/admin/management of your biz, but less so around client facing stuff.
Great review. Love the app share screen at the end. Has the filter improved with the app you mentioned at the end - now end of November 2021. Thanks. Bravo.
Somewhat but it still needs some work for sure. There are still plenty of things you can’t do in the mobile app. I actually have come to appreciate it though. It ensures I’m not getting wrapped up in work when I’m not at my best/shouldn’t be working. I only use it to make notes, start new tasks, or leave comments for others that might come to me randomly when I’m not working.
I know a lot of people who use it that one! I don’t think it’s as robust as something like Honeybook if you want invoices and such, but helpful for non-client facing organization for sure.
Hi Tara! Have just landed here! May I think of spaces as being equivalent to the boards on Trello? Thanks for the video! Cheers from Rio de Janeiro! Subd!
Hi Alexandre, Clickup Consultant and fan (and client) of Tara's tool ;-) Clickup Spaces are like the separate areas of your business, however there are multiple views of the data, which includes Kanban boards (which is how Trello organizes the tasks with their layout.)
This is a reasonably good walkthrough video but it doesn't provide any information as to why this is better than other solutions, not to mention the "best". Funny you don't use gantt chart. A prioritized list shows who's doing what and when, but it can't show you how all those tasks and dependencies will be staggered over time. That can be absolutely essential to estimating the time needed. How else can you clearly see how tasks stack on a calendar based on time and dependencies? I mean you can try to use a calendar view but it's going to get messy. These are the types of details that make it clear what product is better than another. For example. Asana shows all of that in their timeline (gantt) view and it's all easily adjustible from there. Jira however requires all issues to fill the entire sprint duration it belongs to. For epic's you can grab a handle and drag it out to represent a specified range of time but with any other issue (tasks, subtasks, stories, etc) you cannot. Hence Asana Timeline easily beats Jira's. From this video I have to assume you think clickup is best because you are familiar with it and it's working for you. From what I can tell everything you showed here is easily just as doable in multiple other tools. Should probably be titled "ClickUp: My regular use features"
Weird! Although as a small business owner I’ve had weird email glitches that didn’t remove a subscribers email too. Sadly it does happen. Tech isn’t perfect!
