You're like the shop teacher I wish I had in high school. I'm loving watching this come together and you make it look so easy.
I had a shop teacher in High School that had three finger on one hand and four fingers on the other, including thumbs. He never told us how he lost them but it had BAND SAW written all over it. Roger in Pierre South Dakota
I had a shop teacher in school that was missing toes off of each foot,lol..
This thing is coming together nicer and nicer as the build progresses, sweet!
Glad you like it
Great explanation of channeling the cab. I say beer keg for the gas tank!
The cab is probably stouter now than it was from the factory. I put the gas tank on my 66 between the frame in the rear. Flip down license plate with filler neck behind it. A lot more room in the cab. Great work Mr. Beard!
Good idea
you did a wonderful job with the welding Mike 👍
Wow, thank you
Smells like ....VICTORY.
Beauty! I miss those days too, bro.
The best!
Thanks!
There's you nearly a bottle of gas!
You are awesome man. Much appreciated.
Hey Beard,
I had a 1962 Chevy truck C-10 with small back glass window. I cut out the inside and outside of cab and installed a factory BIG back glass. It was so much better & safer being able to see out the window when I looked over my left shoulder when changing highway lanes AFTER looking out the side mirror.
Stay KOOL, we like the way U roll.
Good evening everyone
Great video Mike, keep em coming!! This is one project that I am very much looking forward to seeing the finished product!
Thanks! Will do!
WB, You should clear over that. It would look really cool!
Beat me to it 😂👍
Agreed
Hey Mike 👋, doing an awesome job there jointing the piece back together. Thanks for sharing and have a great week ahead 👍
Thanks, you too!
The 'cab lowering hump' reinforces my enthusiasm for a similar 'tire clearance hump' in the truck bed (once that it's also lowered). Better width and height clearance in the rear. 🤔
Comment for the algorithm , thanks Mike. Keep doing what you’re doing 👍🚚
Thanks 👍
Looks like Halloween on the back of that cab. Fitting!!!
I agree
Wahoo more Weird Beard. Thanks man
Any time!
Every once in awhile someone does things so don't see very often this project fits that to a tea. Good job on doing something new and fun. That is new to me anyway. Great job.
Almost 80K Subs. !
Good for you W.B.
Its comin together...
So close!
Just here for motivation. I've been digging into my C10 build again so I'm happy to see you doing the same.
The bed shortening will be a great video.
I think so too!
Old truck is looking good. I finally got my new welder set up i had new in box for 1year... bought a cart and a cart for my plasma cutter my wife bought me 2 years ago. Going to be cutting and welding frames soon
Good luck man.
Air chisel. Genius. Thanks Beard.
Good to see you Mike an the old truck good luck buddy
Thanks Tommy
Thank you, WB! To me, that space between the cab and bed is crying out for a custom toolbox with drawers, fitted to the shape of the bodyside and painted to match...but it ain't my project its yours! I love the smoke trails on the orange paint, it looks like creepy tree trunks disappearing into an orange fog. I look forward to seeing what you do with it.
The smoke trails were awesome
@@weirdbeard8898 I made your smoke trails into a dark little art thing. I don't know how I could show it to you, if I link my instagram the comment gets clipped. 😔
Dude you're on fire ...!!! .. Keep on churning those videos .... Great content .. !!
More to come!
That gas tank in the back is going to be cool. I saw a guy that cut out a jerry can bottom and attached the filler tube to the jerry can top then tacked it to the bed side. He did it so gas wouldn't spill all over the bed when he was filling it but it was cool because he could stop for gas and bet how much gas was going to fit in his 5 gal can. This is a really cool project keep up the good work. Im watching for ideas on my 67. Love this so far
Ride is going to be epic when done Mike. Keep at it. Looking great little by little.
Can't wait!
WB this truck is turning out so fine. A cool hot rod truck with plenty of mods. Your videos are awesome. The content is excellent. Best wishes and blessings to you and your family.
Thanks man. Glad you’re into it
Mike, that dually is really coming together! I always wondered about in cabin gas tanks! I just sold my last air cooled VW that had a ten gallon tank about eight inches in front of your feet! Safely under your bed protected by bumper and frame, great idea! Very real and cool video! FYI Hobo Freight has way better grinders for about $30! The one you had was only a 2.2 amp. I've had great luck with the newer ones!
I’ll check them out
You got this my man. And your strides are great. I also agree. That things domes years ago should come back. Old School is Cool 😎
💯👍👊
That was so Cool watching the Smoke and the Metal turning Black and Catching Fire 🔥 it's Gonna be Wicked.
Looking Good Mike. Anxious to see this build come together. I would keep the spare tire carrier intact, it's unique and really cool. Just my opinion. Keep up the great work 👍
Tank to the back means room for stuff behind the seat 👍👍👍👍👍
I’m really enjoying this build!
Me too
That smoke effect also reminds me of some inside the cab smoked wood that a friend mine put in his rat rod. It was just some wood he got off a pallet and he smoked/burned in "Bessie" then put it over the glove box. Maybe you could do something similar inside the cab later.
Missed this one no notification thanks for the reminder
You are an amazing patient explainer of what you are doing. I love it!
Great videos,You are kinda like the Bob Ross of hot rods . This truck is gonna be pretty awesome !
Excellent WB! I always enjoy solid educational content. I have to say I find myself looking forward to your next upload, ..sort of on the edge of my seat for what is next. Awesome!
So glad you’re into it
when you're done with all the fab work inside the cab I'd spray with rubberized under coating on the inside and on the bottom to protect it. I really enjoy watching how simple you make things work.
Sometimes rubberized paint causes serious rust if it gets under it. You can use standard oil-based metal Rustoleum paint and primer.
If you have any broken speakers take the magnets off them then break them in half then you have a magnet to hold small bits of metal for hands free welding
Great job WB!
Looking good. Keep up with the tech tips it helps young viewers and us old guys to remember. Peace
See, it's little things like using the air hammer to remove that tar board. Never thought of that. Spent hours with a paint scraper or a flat head screw driver getting that crap up.
That air chisel is a mean machine
Awesome !!
Acetylene painting old-school tricks love it, I think you should leave the bed and put an upright tank frenched in between the cab and box Service Truck. My 2 cents. Thanks, Buddy Love your Builds.
Great idea
Looks good Mike! I too remember those days, but like anything else trends come and go. Its sad because a lot of cool stuff was done with the simplest tools.
Thought about telling you to clear the back of the cab, about 30 seconds before you said that! 😂😂
Looking good
Thanks 👍
Leaving a comment!!!!!
Thanks man
I'm curious to see what you're gonna do about the sheet metal screw holes in the back of the cab. For that tiny piece of metal on the back of the cab, I'd have put a piece of duct tape across the middle of it and onto the cab to just hold it until I got a tack weld on it. Looks like you're doing that at the right time of the year, with all that orange and black on the back of that cab it looks ready for Halloween. Lol, I made that Halloween comment before you said it in the video. I usually comment as I watch.
Man I did so many soot paint jobs. Those were so cool with multiple coats of a good candy.
Leave clear coat u will never know Great job as ever
😁😁👍👍this is really coming together nicely
139th! GOOD THURSDAY MORNING MIKE! Roger in Pierre South Dakota
looking good buddy cant wait to see the frame chop really enjoy the helpful tips and tricks
Take a gasket scraper and modify for your sawzall, you can use it to scrape off that insulation and many other things and not risk damage to your air hammer or whatever you might be working on.
Great content by the way, keep it up!!
If this truck was mine I would put a electric or hydrauliclift crane for pickup truck between the cab and bed as this would help in future projects where heavy lifting needed.
Cool stuff little brother. Keep explaining and doing a great job. I like it
Im pretty sure somebody has already made the suggestion but, Ill suggest to you putting a tool box in the space behind the cab. Solves having to shortening the frame. Its plenty wide for a storeage right in there. You could keep tools, floor jack, a pair of stands too. Maybe even put a compressor enclosed, along with at least an invertor or a generator. No, it doesnt have to be big units to get whatever work youre doing in a salavge yard. Ive considered putting those in my own project for trips to get whatever Id need. Again, just asuggestion.
Hey Mike.
Hey Edward
Really nice work. Like how it's all coming together.
Central California watching
Looking good brother! Love the attention to detail and the budget way.
Hey weird beard you could take that back to Harbor Freight in the replace it for free😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁

Looking great . Awesome!
Thanks for the visit
Floor. Likes. Factory. Thanks
It’s coming together Mike, is the bed going to be all orange or are you going to give it a splash of white around the top rail 👍🏻🏴
Love it Brotha love the channel love truck love the content you da man
please use the factory filler for the tank under the bed that would be pretty cool.
custom paint job hell yeah
Looks good nice job like it
What about sandwiching the tank behind the cab, fabing a flat (at bed height), less frame work, & even use the old fill cap?
Just a thought..
i no i like it brother. nice job.
Going to be awesome!!
Can't wait!
G'day mate awesome...you definitely dont get enough credit for your talent should have shit loads more subs 🤷♂️ they dont know what they are missing all the best buddy 👍👍
Suburban gas tank look into it. I stuffed a burban gas tank in between frame rails at the rear on my 77 custome deluxe c10
🎃 Were missing our Darlene.
need to get your daughter back on her truck need to see it finished
Put the Tank Between the Bed and Cab
NICE!
Nice work on the truck WB ! Looks like you need some magnets 🧲 for your future welding endeavors! What happened with your kids putting out videos?
Kids got too busy with work
Update on the Nissan you rebuilt the engine in? Ever turn out
Custom flame job 😇😇
Wassup love the truck now that car prices are coming back down any chance of a flip car video
What are your plans for that truck when it's done? You gonna keep it?
It belongs to a friend of mine
Chopping the frame, are you going to z cut with fish plates.
I really like the idea of the short and low dually. Are you going to put it on an air ride suspension
