- 69 year-old retired United Airline pilot, tennis player and background actor, Earl Von Buck, has seen the world. His Porsche dream became a reality in his 20s, when he bought his 1968 911 Targa. Now onto his 5th model, here he shares the story (which started off as a practical joke by his wife) behind his beloved 964 Carrera Cabriolet.

My favorite thing to see is people who have developed a deep bond with their Porsche. If I get a Porsche, it'll probably be with me for life.

In response, I am an Avionics Tech at United and am just getting my 1984 Carrera Cabriolet back on the road. It's been a great car and so so fun to drive, so I loved your story. Thanks for sharing. I have had mine since 1987 and I can not imagine letting it go. Just giving it some TLC .

Porsche is the best sports car in the world
I've had two 911SC. why two? First one got destroyed while I was sitting at a stoplight and I was rear-ended. Found another one, same year and color two years later. Now I drive an Aston Martin V8 Vantage but almost bought a 997. Wonderful car, but way too harsh and noisy on anything but billiard-table smooth pavement. Probably a 997 at some point though, just with smaller diameter wheels for more sidewall comfort and quiet.

Earl, thank you for putting this out there. You have the passion as so many of us do. I have the exact same car with the exception of the red interior. This week I drove a 2021 911 Carrera S. You could not even compare the 2. Our cars have a soul - you feel everything and you have ALL the power and responsiveness that you will ever need. At times, I find myself just looking at it. There was so much thought Mr. Porsche put into these cars. How do you make something that is perfect better over time. I can never let this car go and I have had it for28 years. Continued good luck Earl

My Porsche story, never owned any car. Always did dream driving 1997 Arena red 993 tiptronic. And it seems when I reach 60 and If I do, still be dreaming of that nine eleven.

My Porsche story
Purchased a brand new 2019 made in Slovakia Cayenne
