Man. I think I'm addicted to David Dastmalchian interviews now. (As is my RUclips algorithm..) I've never heard anybody talk so coherently and passionately about their mental health. Every time I find myself listening to him, it kind of brings me back and grounds me after listening to all the garbage in my head, (and not to mention RUclips). Double D for the win. 💜
Couldn't agree more about sitting with those painful feelings. That's how I managed the grief of my mother. When you sit with that pain and you get through it, when it comes around again--which it will--it's familiar. You've felt this before and you know how to deal with it. It helps you process the discomfort a little easier the next time it happens.
I figure the afterlife will be like this world, except without the world system, which is inherently designed to beat your soul into the dirt and then defecate on it. If I could live on THIS Earth, but not be under the world system, that would be heaven for me. There is such beauty and deep meaning in this world. Imagine if we lived in this world but everyone were honest, caring and supportive, not always living just to survive and blindly hung up on their world-system-induced traumas that perpetuate the whole problem.
Even Jesus cried when Lazarus died. He wasn't faking it for the narrative. If anyone was going to be like "oh, it's fine, he's going to a better place, get over it and be a man!", it would he Him.
What’s your story with mental health?

We have no cultural context for grief, it's still there even if you believe they are in "heaven"
Great work!
thanks!
