"Chicas malas" the Monica's darkest stage ... after being forced to release a very commercial album, (but empty for her), her company promised her internationalization in exchange for making that album. This song is supposed to be the official theme for the 2002 soccer world cup, but in the end they decided on the song they gave Anastacia ... And after Tommy Mottola's resignation from Sony, the album "Bad Girls" was canceled and They only put 50 thousand albums for sale on the Internet ... In addition, in those years Monica's brother was very ill with depression, and because of the publication of those albums she was not with him as long as she wanted ... That was the moment (2003) when Mónica decided to withdraw permanently from music ... until she returned in 2008, after her brother's death ... and she promised herself that she would only do the music that she really wanted to do.

When she was filming "bad girls" her brother got sick and I think he was long time in hospital and Monica stopped recording to be with her brother. They were very close and did not want to leave it at any time, but the record company was pressing her a lot to continue recording and threatened to sue her iif she wouldn't not continue to record. Faced with such a threat, she had no other option but to leave her brother and her family to fulfill her contract. She herself said that she saw such a dehumanizing part of the music industry that it disgusted her. She also said that she could never forget his brother's face when she had to leave him, it is marked in her heart. That's why she can't stand that album and never sings songs from that album, because it brings back bad memories.

This song you have just listened is from Chicas malas, the releasing of this album was intended to launch her internationally but there were several problems, during the recording of the album her brother was very sick and the label forced to record in the studio and she could not visit her brother for this reason she doesn't sing songs of the album in any of her albums.
