sounds like the client had the perfect trades to do their work. Id be so happy to have Robin if it was me, ive never seen someone so passionate about their work. Love your vids Robin, never stop!
Hi Robin. What an amazing build this was. You and your team took us through a proper journey of a masterclass build. I applaud you for your professional work ethic and not cutting any corners. You are proper old school 😂. Not only were you a great mentor to your apprentice who helped you throughout this build, but you taught your viewers many tips and tricks of the trade. In my next life, I would definitely want to be your apprentice 😂. All the best. Take care. From South Africa
Loved this series. I learned a lot as a DIY’er following what you were doing. I have to say that the roofing work on this job was exceptional. It’s been so nice to see the clients and the rooms after the work is finished. I’ve enjoyed every minute!
An absolutely amazing job. it's been a while since I worked with my father and seen a lay down area as neat, clean and well thought out. A lovely couple , happy customers with a beautiful home. I don't think you could ask for more. throughly enjoyed the series and looking forward to the gazebo build. Well done y'all .
Hi Robin mate I don’t think you could of asked for a better couple as customers or should I say clients Tony and Mary were such lovely people and so engaged in every step of the garden room and the big build but let’s not forget you in the bigger picture and your skills and expertise in putting forward every aspect of the journey in detail so they understood every step of the way that in its self Robin is a skill in its self I know how you are for attention to detail I have always admired that about you and have always been pushed whilst working around you to do the upmost best in all I’ve done for you only because of your attention to detail it rubs off on you which is only a good thing. It was amazing to be involved from start to nearly finish of the big Build and it looks amazing hats off to you mate catch up soon oh and that roof looks awesome lol 😂 thanks bro
Yes Andy, Mary and Tony are such nice people and you know first hand how lucky we where to be on this job!! be good to catch up soon bro, oh and the roof tiling made the job!!
Fair play to your clients for taking on a project like this and really good to see they are now reaping the rewards now! It does also show the importance of having the right builder on board to!
Top of your game Robin. I'm full of admiration. Also love the bit about Ed learning his trade in that house. And of course, great clients doing their part to enable it all.
Robin, amazing series of the big build... I enjoyed every single video. Your attention to detail and skills are brilliant... I have learned a lot, in fact have built my own "garden room/workshop" using lots of the materials you use and tips and hints... not ground screws unfortunately (too many tree roots)🙌🏻👏👏👏👏
Hi Robin, I love hearing what the client had to say on the build and it seemed that they gave you autonomy on how the project move forward. I leaned many things and hopefully and can remember them when I'm setting out on jobs, well done.
What great clients. What a great build and what a great video series. Congrats Robin and to Ed who seems to have made the best start in his chosen career.
I’ve been a builder for 35yrs and this is the best video I’ve seen, all of a sudden I feel normal, I thought it was just me who had all these problems 😂🥰🥰
Great diary of videos, great worth ethic, great craftsman - thoroughly enjoyed the serious and final client chat. From a 30 years qualified carpenter and 20 years qualified Chartered Surveyor. I'm still learning new stuff everyday. Ed has a great teacher in Robin. Well done chaps! 😀
Project Management is all about relationships and you Robin have the attitude and personality to delivery time and time again. Not to mention your craft of which in the truest sense you are a master craftsman. Your approach attracts this sort of client. To see how projects can be delivered with genuine respect and humility is a real pleasure. Well done to you all and you certainly deserved each other. The result is very visible in the finished product
What a fantastic series this has been, thank you for showing what you've done. I've binged the whole lot in a week, which probably isn't good, but I couldn't help myself
Really liked this video. Great example of how setting expectations and delivering in line with expectations has created such a fantastic end result. It's great of Mary and Tony to participate and share their side of things.
I am a trade man myself. And loved the big build. Great clients robin i find are half the battle. And i totally get having unessery turn over like your clients paying window suppliers and so. Great big build serious. Both client and contractor were lucky in this job, Ed is so lucky to learn from you. Keep well looking forward to your next project 👍 🇮🇪
Great video if everyone that’s thinking of having building work done watches this it would make them more understanding of just how the process of the build work works . And from how Robin explains to the clients his process of undertaking the project is excellent from the very start too upcoming situation to the finished product . The final outcome speaks for itself absolutely perfection and nothing less
you should be very proud of what you acheived there robin im a tradesman myself [ painter and decorator ] a seriously high standard and very happy clients a lot of tradesman should take a leaf out of your book by doing everythink perfect and not saying it will do attitude taking that extra bit of time on each job makes a big difference
Such a Joy! Perfect synchronicity between home owner & builder - wonderful! So many excellent lessons. Wouldn't the world be a wonderful place if people could harmonise like this all the time. You need more students, Robin - we need more of you! Then can you send them Down Under - to Tasmania?!! Like: yesterday?!?
Absolutely brilliant from start to finish Robin really enjoyed the whole series , amazing for Ed to learn his craft on one job which he will carry for a lifetime.
Good business people attract good clients. You seemed the perfect match. This has been an amazing series that I'm looking forward to rewatching all in one go in a few years time. Thanks for sharing it, and thanks to your clients for allowing it to be shared.
it blows my mind you can watch 74 videos straight on how to build a house (for free) with extensive detail about the process from the comfort of your bed, something that in any other time in history would've taken you years of learning and hard work ... crazy y'all !! 👍😀
You really are the aspiration for anyone building. I am self building my bungalow to house conversion and so much of it I’m able to do through watching and learning from you Robin. Thank you as always. 🎉
If you live in the UK and you want some building work done, who would your dream builder be? A simple answer. Tommy Walsh 😁 In all seriousness, If Robin turned up with his crew, you just know the end result is going to be legal, in spec, and stunning. It's just a shame, he is probably fully booked until 2040.
Having lived in japan, both Mainland and Okinawa for 18 years and watched how Japanese view building projects I oftern wonder why people dont just demolish and rebuild places like they do here. Japanese very rarely do house conversion unless its in an area where they are restricted on plot sizes. Does it cost more to convert rather than demolish and start fresh or does the planning department give you more hassel on a new build?
Robin can you do one on roof-spread the rafters weren’t tied into the joist and has parted from the wall plate the Purlin has moved about a inch towards the outer wall, any advice please
@@ukconstruction That would be great Robin the Germans bombed next door and I think they just threw my roof on only just noticed it haha.Panicking now been in it 37 years.
Energy prices were going up way before the Ukraine debacle. One of the big problems I have found is clients still think material costs and labour costs are what they were 3 or more years ago.
You got a good run there. Clients like that do not grow on trees. They got a quality build. And everyone, from the sound of it, was happy. Yes it is nice if the customer pays the subbies. Some times that is possible. But in my experience a lot of my customers didn't want to have to deal with tradies. They wanted to work with one person. And for me to sort out everything else. That way I present one invoice at each draw that they have to deal with. Also when building with bank loans. The bank often want everything submitted as one. And pay installments on that. Our threshold for GST(VAT) is pretty low. So most trades are registered. Pretty much impossible to dodge paying it. But as you say it makes your turnover huge. And we have to submit trade accounts at the end of each financial listing every subbie that has worked for you and all the payment details. Nobody ever said building was easy.
My client only deals through me, but they make a payment to the subbies on my instructions and the subbies don't have any financial dealings with the client,
Robin, Giving people power tools is gonna end up being a mistake 😂😂😂..: they’ll be able to do extensions soon themselves.. no need to builders 😂😂 Or are you hoping they botch the work and the wife says, ‘right, we’re calling a tradesmen first thing in the morning’
Fantastic series and well done. Your videos on GapoTape in this build encouraged us to use it in all PIR jobs we do. Fantastic stuff, expensive, but worth every penny.
Wonderful couple, ideal builder, ideal customers.
Yes they are!
What lovely clients. Their approach to this project means they have ended up with a marvellous home.
There's always crap and doom in the news, I love your videos for a break from all that.
sounds like the client had the perfect trades to do their work. Id be so happy to have Robin if it was me, ive never seen someone so passionate about their work. Love your vids Robin, never stop!
The perfect clients. Very nice to see this side of a build
I'm happy for the clients. I'm happy for you Robin but extatic for Ed. To think he learnt his craft on one job is amazing!
Very good of the clients to agree to be interviewed, good work all round
A match made in heaven! Great job guys and thanks to your customers for sharing the build with us all ! Cheers Robin.
Glad you enjoyed it
You must be super proud of yourself Robin!! Well done!

This was just a joy to watch and follow throughout the whole series. Learned a lot personally too.
Would like to know if knocking the whole building down and start afresh was a viable option.
Not really, you get into all manner of planning wrangles!!!

Looking forward to seeing the oak gazebo build, I have one to do myself so need some tips.

How do I find a 'Robin Clevett' here in the states? I want to build a home of this quality in a couple years. :P
The video I have been waiting for going to pour a vodka and get a bowl of crisps for this one

My old Motocross buddy Simon there at the end looking camera shy 😃
When I did work and was asked when do you think it will be finished..... I'd say tomorrow 😂 lol fantastic video Robin.
Thanks 👍
Can I have a couple of clients like this please? 🙏😂
You really need batter mics, the sound is quite poor..
Lucky couple to have Mr C do the work.........not Butch and the cowboys.
Well, they saw his work on garden room and the screws
👍
Architects need to stay away from computers and THINK 🤔
paid for robin's pool too! haha

I do it myself, not to save money, but so I don't have the tattooed yabos the contractors send out after you sign the contract in my house.
Interesting... I also have tattoos!!
Oi' I hope you wipe your boots
Fantastic series and well done. Your videos on GapoTape in this build encouraged us to use it in all PIR jobs we do. Fantastic stuff, expensive, but worth every penny.
