I have a 19 month old & we’ve been teaching her to pick up her toys & she actually enjoys it, we make it a game! Riley is more than capable of helping pick up just a few of her things maybe at the end of the night to help out. Maybe try putting on a 2-3 minute song & let Riley & Jackson know that it’s pick up time & let them have fun with it. Then you can pick up/clean the house items & not always their toys. Just a thought. Also, I’m a twin & my mom (probably for her sanity) taught us at a very young age to pick up 1 toy/game before we got out another. Not necessarily in your living room like 1 toy but if they wanted to go outside to the deck to play in the water, maybe say “let’s pick up the living room mess first” or vis versa
This was the most realistic clean with me ever I love how you are the most amazing and honest RUclipsr out there learned so much from you in my own journey with a toddler 💓💗💗💗🌺
I enjoyed this video I also clean at night once my son and husband go to bed it's my quiet peaceful time and I don't have to worry about things getting messy again I use to try to tidy up after my son when he would take a nap but I learned quickly it's exhausting and to use that time to just relax and save it for the end of the night so worth it to get that little bit of time for myself during the day. Love your videos so relatable
I loved this video and I’m so glad that my house isn’t the only house that looks like this after kids go to bed. I was like yeah that looks like my house lol. Soo thanks for sharing haha.
Since I've become a mother my cleaning routine has become a night time one when they're in bed and it is actually very satisfying, just to be left alone to do it. When I try to clean around them, they just mess up each room and it feels like groundhog day 🙈
Your bedroom cracked me up… its probably what mine would look like but I just shove everything into my walk in closet and shut the door 😂 thanks for showing it all
This is why you're my favorite RUclips mom 😂 you speak my language having to clean your house for the cleaners before they come 😂 But for real, priorities are important. I'm trying to learn to leave mess so I can enjoy a moment
My bf fully believes in emptying the pool every day and putting all the outside toys inside (usually the garage). I'm fine waiting a few days. We basically base it on pain levels ( we both live with chronic pain). If he's having a bad pain day, I'll double down on the inside stuff, and if energy lasts, I'll do a fast pick up outside. If it's me having a bad pain day, he does everything outside and hits the highlights inside. If it's a good day for both, the house looks amazing. If it's a bad day for both of us (like this last week) then everything stays a disaster. But essentially we do both prefer to clean up and empty the pool etc every day. It takes so much more energy to really scrub things if it has time to slowly build up over weeks or months. I love how you always show the constant evolution of "let's try this and see if that works better" mentality to everything. It's so realistic and soothing to see other parents repeatedly trying to find a system that works for them. Our house is known to have random objects in really strange places because we pulled it out of our child's mouth and stuck it in the first place that they couldn't get to.. 🤣
I was leaving my daughter's pool out, and I went out one day and there mosquitos and mosquito larvae wiggling all throughout. It was disgusting, so now I empty it out every time we use it. Also, you don't need to defend yourself and say that you are or aren't a certain way based on the state of your house. The cleanliness of your house doesn't determine who you are and a lot more people relate to you than don't, so feel proud of yourself for just being a good mom!
You make me feel like maybe my house is normal. It’s a constant battle to keep up with everything that needs done and I let cleaning take a back seat to my kiddos.
The tula eyebalm is really nice and feels so good when you apply it. I've only tried a few things from the brand so you will have to give us a update on what you think! It's a brand that had always caught my attention!
Hi Kayla Watched this video and felt tired fist 5 minutes after you started cleaning. I'm a grandma now and I started training my 2 year old granddaughter to pickup her toys. I let her make a mess but before she takes out another toy or activity she has to put away what she has played with before starting a new one. When they are younger than 2 they pretty much can get away with everything. It's harder when they get older when everything is done for them. NOBODY likes to be picking up around the house everyday, I did that everyday when I was younger and worked a full time job. I made my son pickup his room, he couldn't bring but maybe 1 toy to the living area. The cleaning I did everyday was just to keep out dining area, kitchen, etc clean. My husband would not help to clean inside it was like having another kid. I feel for you cause you have your hands full. Maybe you can start with your beautiful little girl making it like a game or something like that, unless you don't mind doing it all the time.
It’s easier to clean with out kiddos but with that being said I don’t clean up toys I have my 3 year old clean up all his toys and pick up his blankets and a few other things. We actually have a little chore chart for him and he loves getting his little starts everyday !
I'm 4 weeks postpartum with a colicky baby and losing my mind lol I haven't cleaned the house since I left for the hospital 🙃 I remember you went through something similar with Jackson, your videos give me hope that she'll grow out of it 😅 🙏🍷
I went through that with my little boy. The struggle was real!!!! Once it started to get better things get less crazy. Hang in there mama ♥️ I also found baby wearing helped a lot. I mean I couldn’t do too much but was still able to tidy a bit and it made me feel less overwhelmed.
Hang in there mama! My baby was not colicky but we could never put him down he would wake up right away it was really tough but it gets better.. I would get a carrier to wear your baby to get little things done just so you feel sane it was the only way for me to get things done and he didn't care and would fall asleep on me! Just remember to give yourself time it will get easier!
You are in the thick of it. My house was a disaster too. I wish I would have gotten paper plates and disposable stuff. At that time it felt like that was life forever and it’s hard to think with little sleep 🙃 lol. Highly suggest disposable stuff for the first 3 months! 😁 wishing you well! 🥰
I can’t handle messes. I mean I can handle toys out and kid messes but I always keep the kitchen, bathrooms, laundry room and my room clean and tidy. The living room, playroom and kids rooms get a bit crazy but we get them tidy every night before the kids go to sleep. I think I have something to learn from people who are more relaxed and not consumed by messes. It’s all a balancing act! I had a laugh watching you try to tip the pool 😂
“The fun has to justify the cleaning up” Lmao so true 😂 But seriously my parents always yell at me for going to bed around 11 but by the time you clean all of the mess up and then watch one show it’s already that late!
Also, my husband is just like joe and would be mad if we didn’t clean it up. At first I didn’t agree, but now I feel like I agree with him that it needs to be cleaned up.
My husband doesn't pay any attention to the water table but he would never allow a baby pool to sit with water. I have found that if I leave the water table with water it's actually mold that we deal with and not so much bugs and ours is in a covered patio! So as much as we hate it at least every few days that thing needs to be empty and occasionally lysol/ bleached. I hate how inevitably are squirt toys get mold in them. And I'm so good about spraying them out and even sometimes use a tiny bit of bleach water in them. I've also tried the hot glue gun trick on the spout and my kids pick it off and then I'm worried about it being a choking hazard 🤦
I always clean after my daughter is down for the night. Its a lot more peaceful since I could have a glass of wine. I'm the same way with my daughters toys. Idc if they're everywhere as long as she had a fun day, but my hubs isn't a fan of the mess before bedtime lol
I kept throwing my empty boxes (mostly Amazon) in my garage on the half I don’t park in. At one point the stack was almost as tall as me taking up so much space!! It took forever to break them all down. Trying to keep up on it now! 😬
Okay so random - but do you know where you got that organizer above the toilet? We are moving from an apartment in the city to a house in the suburbs (can’t wait!) and our master bathroom is very similar to your layout!
I always leave the pool water and water table water in till the next time we use it but I found the toys being slimy and water table molded so gross… then I have to get out all the cleaning supplies and do a huge deep clean before he can go play so now I just dump the water out if not the next time it’s a huge project just to use the pool or water table..
They make kitty pool covers to keep all the bugs and stuff out of it so you can keep it filled for multiple days saves a lot on water I would change the water for the kids every 2 weeks or once a week if you want to be more clean with it. And just add more water as needed through the week or weeks. I love your videos! And your family is so beautiful! 💛
I think if you minimized the amount of toys it would make it a lot easier on you! :) I have one basket of toys for my daughter who is Jackson’s age and aside from the bigger things (like her tee pee/ ride along car etc) that’s all she has … once the basket gets too full I’ll donate and rotate out
You are a champion! This is totally my goal but I end up being a lot more like Kayla since I love teaching and even playing with my kids and noticed that they like the new toys. I keep decluttering but I still haven't gotten a hang on not bringing in new things again. I watch minimalist for inspiration but I'm not quite there yet 🤣
I agree with you ... i have one small basket for my 14 month old and its more than enough he began to play with realistic things rather than toys ... like broom old remote control caps books although if i had money maybe i ended up buying all the toys like kaila but honestly kids are ok with less stuff and they engage in our house activities more so from a montessori perspective its good too
Amazon is lifeeee BUTTT them boxes and packages make me not want to order anything ever again! Thats my husbands job and he hates how much they pile up😂😂😂
I don’t care about the mess my kids make, cause I’ll clean it up just for them to make a mess again 😂 but my fiancée is like joe when it comes to messes lol. But I do agree with joe on the pool! If you leave water in it, it will attract mosquitoes and they will lay eggs. That’s what I was told anyway 😅
I like to clean up at night after my baby goes to sleep too. I sweep and mop the floors and try to clear the kitchen, so when I wake up in the morning, I don't have to do anything, just heat up the coffee and wait for her to wake up.
Maybe I need to start my cleaning routine when my son is sound asleep... I feel like I'm forever tidying up after him chasing him around cleaning up the caos 😂
Absolutely do not dump out the pool and put it away each night. Mine often sits there for a few days, but they can get green and gross after too long if it rains or it is hot and stuff, which is nasty because then I have to like use vinegar and clean the pool and the toys and stuff to get them clean since my dude tends to put things in his mouth 🙃

Dumping the pool 😅 I love how real that is. I have an inflatable intex rainbow double sized one and it’s a monster to empty! And fill. I will fill ahead of time and put black trash bags on top to act like a solar cover, but will dump it after 2 days because it can grow algae.
If you can cover the pool overnight so no bugs can quench their thirst then I don’t see a problem with reusing the water a few times. Yes especially little kids don’t like to see things clean haha.
Oops should have said if water is clean I'd leave it in there till I had to dump it. My cat was all over me when I tried posting comment, so I had to redo it. Sorry for your family's loss. In my prayers.

I laughed so hard when you couldn’t even move the kids pool. I feel ya. 🤣
This video totally makes me want to clean my house right along with you!!! I absolutely love your videos and channel and IG!!
Thanks for editing and posting videos, Kayla, during this difficult time!!!!!
Good job! I cleaned with you while my son is with grandparents for a day - feels so good to do it uninterrupted 😂❤️

Omg I love it!!!! I don’t feel alone lololol ❤️🤣 I think the best part so far is the pool HAHA
I’m so glad I’m not the only person who cleans before my cleaning lady comes 🙈

If you ever need to get Joe in the mood just play this video 😂😉 he will be so proud
Lmaooooooo 🤣🤣🤣🤣💀
Hahahaha I was thinking the same thing. I was like I hope she sends joe pics of the tidy house while he’s away on his work trip 🤣
Their perfecting primer is amazing. I put it on by itself all the time for a nice skin tint especially for just running a few errands
Loved this video!! Do more of these!! Also you are my favorite! 😍

I am waiting for my first baby and after watching this video I decided to teach her to clean up from the day one!🤣
Where did you get the toy kitchen from!!? I love it!

Yup. Same. I tell people it looks like I run a daycare of 8 kids for my 1 child. 🤣
I love the clean with me videos!! I love to put these on when I clean! I’ll def be watching this one again when I clean my house today!!

So realistic, but about the pool, I leave mine for dayyysss 😂 about 4-5 days I hate it so much
8pm and it’s so light outside still, I live in Australia and it gets dark at 5:30/6pm
I live in New Zealand and when it’s summer it’s still bright outside at 8pm too! But we are still in winter🙃
Yes! It’s crazy! Back in Miami it would get dark so much sooner!
Do more of these videos I enjoyed watching you clean 👍🏻

For a little pool, I’d leave it full for a few days just put some kind of cover on it over night :)
Where did you get those flash cards?! I need some for my daughter and have no idea where to get a good pack of them!
I always leave the pool water and water table water in till the next time we use it but I found the toys being slimy and water table molded so gross… then I have to get out all the cleaning supplies and do a huge deep clean before he can go play so now I just dump the water out if not the next time it’s a huge project just to use the pool or water table..

Does joe watch the vlogs you upload when he’s gone?
I feel the same when I would clean up the child care room the kids would mess it up again so total understand
can you post the link to the rocker chair in Jackson's room??
I have to pour the water out of our little pool every night because I hate when the bottom of it gets slimy 😂
v quietly “no red button…” 🤣🤣🤣
Lmaaooooooo you heard it! 🙌🏼❤️
I hate cleaning 😫😫. But with 2 kids , its all i do day and night and midday. I really need a house keeper😫😫.
I do it all day long too. (When I’m not at work) it’s a lot lol I feel you
Maybe I need to start my cleaning routine when my son is sound asleep... I feel like I'm forever tidying up after him chasing him around cleaning up the caos 😂
It isn’t even worth cleaning when mine is awake because I swear he literally goes behind me and dumps out every bin I just cleaned up 🤦♀️
Yayyyyyyyyy
Absolutely do not dump out the pool and put it away each night. Mine often sits there for a few days, but they can get green and gross after too long if it rains or it is hot and stuff, which is nasty because then I have to like use vinegar and clean the pool and the toys and stuff to get them clean since my dude tends to put things in his mouth 🙃
I empty my kids water table and pool every night. Idk the thought of animals and bugs in the water grosses me out. I'm with Joe on that one 😅
You did a great job...
My kids don’t have this many toys for this very reason! 🤣
You should do more cleaning content videos!
I think my dog got sick from drinking water i left in the kiddie pool over a few days. Id say its better to empty it bc you know kids will end up drinking the water. Im sure bacteria grows in stagnant water.
Gosh, I wish I could help you lifting this pool right now 😂
Dumping the pool 😅 I love how real that is.
💕💕💕
Get a cover for that pool and no mesquitos
If I had a nice pool like that I would leave it for a couple days at least.
Oops should have said if water is clean I'd leave it in there till I had to dump it. My cat was all over me when I tried posting comment, so I had to redo it. Sorry for your family's loss. In my prayers.
I wouldn’t leave standing water cuz it’s just a breeding ground for mosquitos. This is basically every night of my life after the kid goes to bed lol
My least favorite part of cleaning is taking things upstairs and downstairs
Lol team Joe when it comes to the Pool cleanup… you know how nasty that water would be if it sat out several days?!?
Its so painful when you step on those small plastic toys! I hateeee that🤪
First
I do the same every night 😊🤗😘
Yea, you should clean the pool every night kayla lol
Girl if that water is clean, idleness it in there....
