@@metaldude55ify That's how I feel about most metal I hear, studio-style is always so perfect. The live performances are always more alive and I feel the artists have more room to add their own flair to things that really add to the feel of the song

I love Tyler but he really needs to stop playing the majority of the set with his back to the audience.
I'd like to agree with you, because I'd like to see that beautiful face lash out those monsterous vocals. Although, having his back turned gives his presence this weird, "hardass, but there is a lot on my mind" type vibe. Its sick.
I saw him last night and he faced the crowd almost the entire time. I'm sure he's different every night. I'm sure sometimes the dude doesn't want to face people because he might be having an off day.
I say him turned around makes the room have a more ominious vibe, plus some people are too busy moshing to pay attention.

As a drummer who's toured with a heavy band I cant think of anything you'd need a toothpick for, that you can't play without.
@@Kirkshelton Pretty sure he is having an in-ear problem, since they are using tracks and there are no monitors, he wouldn't be able to hear much.

@@Kirkshelton the drummer explains why he needs the toothpick. His ear plugs are old as fuck and have built up wax. And they’re upset because this is their biggest crowd of the tour lol

Drummer was having in-ear problems. Looks like he wasnt able to hear the click due to either wax build up or internal problems with his in-ear headphones

Jon Durkin Josh’s vocals kinda went out after 2 songs
It's always so cool to see how humble and soft-spoken a lot of the monstrous vocalists and musicians in this scene are. Praising the crowd and thanking everyone who's moving and shouting along during and in-between songs like that. You can really tell how appreciative these guys are, and they don't take their positions for granted.

Two guitars if you count the really low heavy one in their actual tracks. One through cab and one through tracks
They had two guitarists, so I imagine they are doing this until they find a new member. I can't imagine them not wanting a second guitarist. It's honestly easier live to mix (well) a instrument over a backtracked version of the riffs.
Whizi yeah I would be a hypocrite if I said I didn’t like putting a ton of shit in the back tracks. They can still play their music without it, so it’s not a big deal
You made it sound good anyways bro so props. I always have trouble when bands have too many layers of backtracking cause it starts to sound messy. Plus bands always seem to want them to overpower their actual live instruments so maybe I'm just a little biased myself ahaha.
Whizi as you noticed after the first song they wanted me to turn up the tracks, so I guess sometimes I’m trying to help them “hide” the back tracks but they want them right up front in center. Usually the band lets me know before the set where to set the levels

The drum mics I use at the venue are e604 on toms, i5 on snare, d112 on kick

Keeps the performance consistent. Cleaner. The drummer has a click track in his ear so it’s about as close to perfect as it can get. Having all the extra shit that’s on the album makes a difference too. Especially Traitors with all the spooky ambient stuff going on a lot. Gotta have it.
