No Martin or Taylor would be able to match this Yamaha's beauty. I can say this with full confidence. The very tone and the balance in overall sound is mesmerizing. This is like magical. Truly Yamaha knows how to make premium quality guitars. They're the masters of acoustic guitars.
I fully agree. I've owned nearly every top Martin and Taylor over the last 50 years. Recently changed out to a Yamaha LL-TA and swapped out the saddle and pins for bone. it's a sweet canon now beating all top Martins (D-42) and Taylor's I had prior.
I am not sure about that anymore...I just got one and the 5 and the 6yh string starting fret 8+ you can hear losing resonance.....very disappointing.....and the neck nut and the bride are high....calibrated kind of high and the frets seem thin and their height too filed closer to the frets' surface......very disappointing.... these frets will not last too many years.... I wonder what really happened to Yamaha...my CJ818 from 20 years ago sounded much better and the body bigger....
Nope. You just like this type of sound better. sweet and pronounced trebles, seperated clean mids, textural but controlled lows - typical japanese guitar sounds, you can also find this sound in Lakewoods or some of he Taylors, modern and clean. Though if you like a dryer, punchier and woodier sounds this would fall short. To each their own, best to own both. Listen to Master Miner play this Martin - ruclips.net/video/JVJAUc_vPFk/видео.html&ab_channel=TheNorthAmericanGuitar You can't deny how enthralling this insanely boomy dry base is.
@@passcomcompass2623 this is smaller bodied guitar.....the LL56 might be a closer comparison to that Martin dread. Now with that said, I love the Martin Boom!
Wow, just wow the note separation, balance and consistency of the notes across the board is just off the charts! Probably the one best, if not the best 000/OM I’ve heard in my life!Just imagine how a LL86 custom would sound like!
@@JohnsMusicClasses it's beyond fantastic. i got it in a japanese store, second-hand but barely played - half price compared to the best deals in western countries. if you like it i strongly suggest you look for one in japan
So I just acquired the LS36 and I can attest it’s incredible, almost has a Brazilian chime to it, I’ve owned boutique American guitars 2-3 x times the price and this is as good in build quality/ feel and more importantly tone, it’s so lively and comes even more alive the longer you play it. I bought this blind off the back of watching the very few reviews of them on RUclips. As the guy from Singapore suggests they have a Goodall vintage vibe about them and I have to agree yet still very fundamentally Yamaha 😊
Really had my heart set on a high end Martin, but stumbled on a demo LL56 for under 3K. it's voice is truly amazing and lucky to have her. GREAT Get Fiddle!
Wow, wow, wow!!! That’s the most beautiful sounding guitar I’ve ever heard. This will be a future gift to myself if I work my butt off to afford this beauty.
I've an original yamaha concert acoustic L5-A which I think was an earlier model of this guitar. I cannot play anymore but I keep it and hope to find someone who will play it for me now.
I have the LL-36 and am very thankful and this one seems to have a bit more bass and softer. Great guitars and thankful Yamaha went back to the LL series of handmaids!!!!
Floored. Perfect tone. Surely on par with a Taylor/Martin/Collings of same shape/type? I’ll be playing one before I pull the trigger on buying anything next few months.
Wow, what amazes me is it's so consistent and even in tone and volume across the strings. Very piano like, as you might expect from Yamaha. They're very underrated guitars imo. Would love to find one, hopefully TNAG gets one in stock sometime again soon.
I went with this instead of a Martin OM-42 for my heirloom guitar. I'm in the Martin FB groups and it felt like every day there was a new post about someones expensive martin guitar's binding coming off.
Wow… your Sound is impressively accurate and true to the Guitar TNAG. I own the LJX26C which is just a cosmetic step down from this guitar and it sounds incredibly similar to what I’m hearing in this video…Great recording as always 👍
The 26 series is made by a team and has poly finish. LS 36 made by one man and the ls56 is made by the master craftsman. LS 36 and ls56 use nitro and first and second choice wood within the already selected wood in Yamaha japan
Beautiful tone. I thought I might get one. I thought it’s a Yamaha, it can’t be that expensive. So I googled it.............This guitar cost about $8500 in Australia!!
Similar reaction. Listened. Thought to myself, this might be the best sounding guitar I've ever heard and it's a Yamaha, so probably under 1k! My ability to be attracted to things that are very expensive continues. :)
26 is made in Japan , Yamaha factory. 36 is made from a group of dozen Yamaha elite luthier in their Japan's workshop 56 is made by the master luthier, himself only.
Hi... Plz suggest about LS16 rosewood model.. Sound.. I m buying from USA; I stay in India and some friend is buying and getting for me from USA...Plz advice
It is. It is also made by one person. It is their flagship model and pricey yet not ridiculously so. It's a world class instrument and costs what one would expect to pay for one's final stop in a high-end instrument purchase.
Great technique and precision in note choice and motifs but I hate this type of playing. I don’t know why I hate it. Perhaps that lack of expansion and contraction in melody. Like there no direction. It could be resolved anywhere. It’s all just kind of open.

It's basically their 'custom shop', handcrafted by a single luthier.

what strings you using?
is this all factory, or was something added?
What strings did you use and recording setup? I have an FG2000
why is the 56 better than the 36. and 26 please answer
56 is made solely by master luthier. 36 & 26 is by his apprentices.

56, has different abalone purfling; shade
better / higher tuner,
wood (Top, back and sides) is hand tapped, so to get the best sounding guitar.
Who will pick this over Martin OM-28MD ?
this is a much rarer guitar than a om-28md.
