      Yeah, these hills look easy to ride down on, but it's not as expected

    • @aleksisuuronen5969
      @aleksisuuronen5969 Год назад +6

      I was looking why does it say experts only. Like I'm from Finland and we don't have a lot a lot craazy hills, well defininetly have them but not like Mountains (we have like the left off's from Norways mountain-range 😅). That should be marked as average especially with that good of a snow In My Eyes. Well I was like 16 when me, my dad, uncle and cousin went to germany to cut down few huuuuge trees at my aunts familys lake constance house (my aunts husband is from a Rich family and ran mildly put, a big business before few years ago retiring)(So they have multiple houses and this is the lake that borders germany, swizz and austria lakeside house). Ok so we went to swizz since me and my cousin was promised we get to go and ride after helping cutting the trees down since my aunts husband have a house in swizz too (btw the trees ended up being so big my uncle and dad couldn't touch hands by hugging them from side to side, that's another story in itself). Anyway just the first 10mins of riding down the mountain from the top was like a wake-up call to be super alert (first hill really). Everyone there goes to a school to go and ride these mountains so all of the way down is like a slalom from the busiest hills since that's how they just do it. Like just super bumby hills in so many tracks. It was around an 1,5-2h to come down the whole mountain since you choose these paths and kinda have to sometimes take quite wild hills to get somewhere you want which could be nerve wracking because I had no clue what they think as a hard hill and just the adapting to ride differently from how the snow forms into that slalom form at some hills (at first couple times with a lot of speed I was in air going from the bumbs like from a mini ramp but managed to stay up and not hit anyone). Then the fact that some places at the top does have like places you just have to be super carefull since they don't ofc build railings to faar down straight down cliff, well not atleast in not so touristy place. It was pretty bonkers as someone who had rode hard hills but like here the snow is smooth and well kept, differend and in the actually steep hills it can be like actually frozen because it's colder so people riding stomp the snow into ice.. so it's just way differend kinda thing here and there.
      I'm not even saying I'm some good skii'er or anything but that there defininetly is levels to it and then Levels to it. Meaning like it can vary so much on what people think and see as what in where.

    • @jayded_squidd7846
      @jayded_squidd7846 Год назад +11

      @@aleksisuuronen5969 if you look at pictures of the cornice bowl from a front perspective it kinda shows a bit better how steep it actually is. it also starts at a point so even at the start you’re set up to go down *fast* . you have to be able to control your speed well, especially on days where the snow conditions aren’t as great. i think that’s why it’s labeled as experts only. if it was labeled as average a lot more people could try to go down who aren’t prepared and there could be a lot more crashes, so i think it’s for safety as well.

    • @aleksisuuronen5969
      @aleksisuuronen5969 Год назад +2

      @@jayded_squidd7846 I understand that camera can give you a wrong perspective and took that into an account. I also do understand the sign if it's a place where is a lot of all kind of people skiing (here we have like a color-coding on how hard it will be). I'm just saying, you know that it's all relative to people what is considered as steep depending from where you are skiing a lot. Then just objectively, even if it says experts only it does look like very basic route with being very wide, good snow, not that steep and all that. Ofc you can get A Lot of speed in average hill by just bombing it down.
      Like whatever route can be for experts if it's depending on weather in the end. That's why I snapped both of my bones in half from my left arm, since there was a snowstorm so you couldn't see sometimes literally more than few meters onwards. I was 16, we were in lapland and it was the laaast descent of the whole thing there and me and my friends were in a hurry to a bus. Ok so we are going thru this thin snake halfpipe and at the end it goes to left and right and since my 3 friends packed up at the end of the pipe (for the weather and which way to go) I tought I will go a bit further to the left-side, what I tought was a start of a hill. Because of the massive storm I didn't see that on the right side a hill continued and on the left side was like a 3-4m fall from a bigger half-pipes wall. I remembered being confused on the air like what's happening having a good amount of speed and just keeping on being in air. I came down to my feet, but fell for the force to come to the flat like that and my other hand stayed under me when I fell and snapped the bones. Well that was then a 14h ride to a nearest hospital.

      On just the right part of the early season there’s a big drop if you go straight down from here, it’s a lot of fun. When it’s snowier they put a little speed race course that starts at the same spot

    I not only adore her persistence and how she coaches herself through it, but applaud your parenting for seeing that she’s learning, improving, enjoying it and y’all keep at it. It can be tedious always taking a sport slow for the kiddos when you might want to go out and shred for the day, but you’ve really allowed her to take center stage when she wants and she’s genuinely improved tremendously since I first saw her. I still remember the little Dino suit and lead, always falling down, but now she’s hitting expert points and roaring “can we go again!” LOVE TO SEE IT! I commend you all!

    I failed miserable at snow skiing I am from Cental Florida we had snow once 1977 and our parents woke us up and made us play in it at 3 a.m. and we had school and everyone in my homeroom class including the teachers we all slept in homeroom we didn't change classes either. My parents said it would be gone by morning but it was still there and I don't like cold weather and snow is pretty from the comfort of my house if it drops below 70° I am cold. I was at Breckenridge Colorado. Y'all have your hands full with this little one she is fearless I have joined just to hear her voice it's so darn cute and I love how she was going 32 miles an hour impressed me she is so little she is super cute and I have only seen one picture of her face keep up the awesome work guys you have a Olympic gold metal on her neck.❤😊😂😂

    Her self talk is so invaluable - it shows how the self talk keeps her focused on the present, not what could go wrong (or right) later...cuts down the noise/distractions in such a significant way. I've heard several pro athletes who have mastered similar self-talk to recover from a mistake or big momentum change in a game, etc. they are the difference makers.
