6 Year Old Snowboards Cornice Bowl at Mammoth Mountain

- Cashy has done a few different black diamonds in her 6 years of life which is a pretty rad achievement in itself. Every one so far has had its own obstacles other than it being a black diamond! Some were super icy, low visibility, crowded, moguls, etc.
This run called Cornice Bowl at Mammoth Mountain is a steep one for many adults, let alone a young grom like Cashy. When you look over the edge it’s a big drop down which was a bit frightening at first. Then add all the slushy snow (that moves out from under you) as well as the moguls (bumps) and it takes the run up just a bit more in the scary, difficult department.
To watch Cash look over the edge and then with all the confidence in her heart, she drops in full send. That mindset of hers is always the biggest inspiration in our lives. She reminds us to go after the hard things, to be brave and to take it one steep step at a time.
The best part of the whole video is that halfway down she starts yelling that she wants to do it again haha. In true Cash form, once she achieves a hard task she gets so pumped and wants to prove to herself that she can do it again, and again and again. Something we admire so much about our little girl.
She is truly teaching us all how to reach for the stars and full send in order to make all your dreams come true. So don’t give up, keep fighting for everything you want in this life and if you’re scared DO IT SCARED!
For those that don’t know. A black diamond is a harder run level. Most resorts trail maps have indicators that symbolize run difficulty. Easy runs are usually a green circle, medium runs are a blue square, then hard runs are black diamonds and extremely hard runs are double black diamonds. They range from resort to resort and even from continent to continent. What’s a black Tun in say Switzerland may be far different from a black diamond in Chile. It’s very important to watch for signs and get maps when at a new resort so you don’t end up on a more advanced run than you’re skill set can handle.
Shred on TuTu Mafia! YEEWWWWW 🤙🏼
the guy who said get it girl go was so wholesome
Not really that person but thx everyone for 15k!
Any snowboarder ive encountered (given its 2) are the most genuine people
@Mimi18459 yeah does it matter?
That is literally all of us watching lol
@@amazingkool srsly
@@amazingkoolso? What's that have to do with the original comment?
I went to mammoth mountain not too long ago and I want to applaud Cash for her bravery and hard work. That was not an easy run by any means
Yeah, these hills look easy to ride down on, but it's not as expected
I was looking why does it say experts only. Like I'm from Finland and we don't have a lot a lot craazy hills, well defininetly have them but not like Mountains (we have like the left off's from Norways mountain-range 😅). That should be marked as average especially with that good of a snow In My Eyes. Well I was like 16 when me, my dad, uncle and cousin went to germany to cut down few huuuuge trees at my aunts familys lake constance house (my aunts husband is from a Rich family and ran mildly put, a big business before few years ago retiring)(So they have multiple houses and this is the lake that borders germany, swizz and austria lakeside house). Ok so we went to swizz since me and my cousin was promised we get to go and ride after helping cutting the trees down since my aunts husband have a house in swizz too (btw the trees ended up being so big my uncle and dad couldn't touch hands by hugging them from side to side, that's another story in itself). Anyway just the first 10mins of riding down the mountain from the top was like a wake-up call to be super alert (first hill really). Everyone there goes to a school to go and ride these mountains so all of the way down is like a slalom from the busiest hills since that's how they just do it. Like just super bumby hills in so many tracks. It was around an 1,5-2h to come down the whole mountain since you choose these paths and kinda have to sometimes take quite wild hills to get somewhere you want which could be nerve wracking because I had no clue what they think as a hard hill and just the adapting to ride differently from how the snow forms into that slalom form at some hills (at first couple times with a lot of speed I was in air going from the bumbs like from a mini ramp but managed to stay up and not hit anyone). Then the fact that some places at the top does have like places you just have to be super carefull since they don't ofc build railings to faar down straight down cliff, well not atleast in not so touristy place. It was pretty bonkers as someone who had rode hard hills but like here the snow is smooth and well kept, differend and in the actually steep hills it can be like actually frozen because it's colder so people riding stomp the snow into ice.. so it's just way differend kinda thing here and there.
I'm not even saying I'm some good skii'er or anything but that there defininetly is levels to it and then Levels to it. Meaning like it can vary so much on what people think and see as what in where.
@@aleksisuuronen5969 if you look at pictures of the cornice bowl from a front perspective it kinda shows a bit better how steep it actually is. it also starts at a point so even at the start you’re set up to go down *fast* . you have to be able to control your speed well, especially on days where the snow conditions aren’t as great. i think that’s why it’s labeled as experts only. if it was labeled as average a lot more people could try to go down who aren’t prepared and there could be a lot more crashes, so i think it’s for safety as well.
@@jayded_squidd7846 I understand that camera can give you a wrong perspective and took that into an account. I also do understand the sign if it's a place where is a lot of all kind of people skiing (here we have like a color-coding on how hard it will be). I'm just saying, you know that it's all relative to people what is considered as steep depending from where you are skiing a lot. Then just objectively, even if it says experts only it does look like very basic route with being very wide, good snow, not that steep and all that. Ofc you can get A Lot of speed in average hill by just bombing it down.
Like whatever route can be for experts if it's depending on weather in the end. That's why I snapped both of my bones in half from my left arm, since there was a snowstorm so you couldn't see sometimes literally more than few meters onwards. I was 16, we were in lapland and it was the laaast descent of the whole thing there and me and my friends were in a hurry to a bus. Ok so we are going thru this thin snake halfpipe and at the end it goes to left and right and since my 3 friends packed up at the end of the pipe (for the weather and which way to go) I tought I will go a bit further to the left-side, what I tought was a start of a hill. Because of the massive storm I didn't see that on the right side a hill continued and on the left side was like a 3-4m fall from a bigger half-pipes wall. I remembered being confused on the air like what's happening having a good amount of speed and just keeping on being in air. I came down to my feet, but fell for the force to come to the flat like that and my other hand stayed under me when I fell and snapped the bones. Well that was then a 14h ride to a nearest hospital.
But, did you heel stomp?
The constant verbal coaching to herself in that ridiculously adorable voice is just to much 😂❤
Yes too too much 😂❤
Her little voice is so cute!
I do that too lol, so helpful
Black lol no way red at best. Try Europes blacks your soon know about it. That girl should do gymnastics and then combined them then she will get golds.
@@carloszarzoso1724what black n what red??
I wonder if I am witnessing the making of a snowboarding legend
I wonder the same thing. She's hitting pretty sick jumps at 6 goddamn years old so totally possible. Cannot imagine her once she's a teenager, next Shaun White probably.
That would be awesome
She's gunna be the tony hawk of snow boarding in a few years.
You are
I think so
Cashy: If were scared do it scared.
Also Cashy: CAN WE DO THIS RUN AGAIN
Look at a Cashy GO!!!!! 🎉 best advice ever!
WDYM WERE
i have to remember this !! if we are scared , we do it scared! good life moto
@@cindymaris8470moto?
I love how she's thinking through the fundamentals of her technique in uncomfortable terrain- sure indication that she's been taught properly and very well.
The self-mastery it takes for your mind to stay clear and logical to sync while your body is doing potentially dangerous new things and enjoy it, my god!! If only my childhood could have a do-over 😅
I will never be as cool as this child
Don't worry, me neither!
And there's no problem with that. We can only wish her to be even more successful and cooler, and we take inspiration from this little prodigy!!
Her natural sense of balance is incredible 😊
She's been developing her balance through training and experience
@@rjbgfx Yes, nothing comes by itself. Rola-bola, skate'n'snowboard, cycling and at all not being a couchpotato is what gives her very good balance. Do you think she does handstands and unicycle too?
@@Scr3amapillarHave you seen the videos of her, one year old, no training, riding on a snowboard? It’s crazy!
So G R E A T, that you can see that, and told her!! Kudos 2 you!!
@@juliamay2156 I did! She was cute there too! 😺
This little girl is going to be a legend
Ikr I’ll be here waiting for her to be an Olympic legend ❤ if not that, she’s still a legend ❤
Yeeeah, let's not pile expectations on her. Just let her vibe.
She already is imo. Doing such runs at 6 years old is nothing short of amazing
I love listening to her coach herself. She is fearless. I absolutely adore her!! She's awesome!!
I even would say she is not fearless, but instead faces her fear with technique and is confident enough to muster up the courage anyway. That is what great training and positive reinforcement by parents does to children.
if she's not allowed to perform in the Olympics with a sparkly tulle skirt I'm gonna be so mad at the IOC
😂
I just absolutely adore your daughter you guys should be very proud
Beyond proud. Her love for this sport has made us fall more in love with it!
I wouldn’t touch this hill if I was walking on grass. Go Cash!
Hill? Scares the Pooh outta me just watching Cashy do that!!!
Well... You can do it. This would take a few years of dedication if you're starting from scratch, but it is totally doable!
It definitely takes some determination and commitment... And financial investment. But you can usually learn to ski/board semi-affordably at a smaller local hill!
Hearing her talking herself through it out loud is the best thing! You can hear the fear but also the excitement and enjoyment and her proving to herself how capable she is! Dope af! She did that!!! I also felt like I learned how this works just listening to her! 🙏🏾🙌🏾👊🏾
Me too!
“Yeah girl, go!” was so adorable
My tutu superhero!! You are awesome as usual. I'm going to use "toe stomp heel stomp" as my chant to keep on going when i feel like i can't. ♡
I'm getting myself a sparkly pink tutu. Ya know, for Those days.
@@MTetzke i hear you, there are alot of THOSE type of days lately..Happy New Year!
It’s her motivating herself out loud for me she’s remembering everything you taught her and having a blast !!
The random dude was awesome. Me and my family were at a campsite once when a dad teaching his kid how to operate a four-wheeler was going by us and we cheered the kid on, the kid's face absolutely glowed. It makes a difference
Can we do this run AGAIN, Cashy you are amazing!!! Much love and many blessings
me being a skier, i can confirm how difficult this run is AND THIS GIRL ROCKED IT
would you have your son or daughter throw curve balls at 6?
and here you see shred queen Cashy in her natural environment
I love this! 🙌🏽😂
Wow, navigating what looks like a sheer drop. That shout out 😂 Toe stomp, heel stomp...I am going to start saying that when things get difficult. Such a brave Snow Fairy. 💙
Great to hear her talking through her focusing, best advice she can give herself. Thanks to her trainers, Dad and Mum. No slope ever bothers her. Love it. ❤
I loved the way she remembered your teaching and just talked herself through the descent. Awesome to see her confidence!!
Kids do not know the meaning of fear and only see what they need to get where they want to be. FEAR becomes something we learn later after we start over rationalizing in our heads.
I love to see her and hearing her talk. Yeah, that snow doesn't seem as smooth so it looks harder. Steepness of the hill and depth of snow is where the challenge is at. I like that sign. She's great though! ❤😊🙏
You actually want to find the texture on steep runs. Smooth patches are usually ice. That said, bring a spare pair of knees with you. It's exactly as rough a ride as it looks.
@@jamielonsdale3018
That makes sense.
Smashing black diamonds at 6yrs old, there’ll be no stopping this girl 🤩
Ve to hear her giving herself internal instructions. A self directed boarder😊
Cashy such a super star . Keep going beautiful girl ❤
That was so impressive! Thanks for sharing
Cashy, you are so brave and amazing!! 🎉
BTW, the clarity and quality of the video are really good.
This girl is going to conquer the world and her peers would wonder does she get all that confidence from.
She's so cool! I just love her. Your the luckiest parents.
WOW! Watching her grow! Great job mom & dad for instilling confidence in your girl!

Every time I watch Cashey I get so excited knowing she is going to be USA GOLD METAL WINNER MISS CASHEY. Again I thank you for her family videos. I look for them everyday. You all are amazing
Her little “woah” always makes me smile
She killed it❤

Awesome confidence Cashy and you wanted to go down that run again too cool. Even how you talked to yourself down the run.
She sounds like me trying to snowbored the bunny hill😂 she is awesome. I am a skier who tried snowboarding once and was bad. She is so young and better than I will ever be and it’s awesome
That kid is gonna have the best fine motor skills when she grows up! Doing stuff like this is so great, it builds autonomy, confidence, and strengthens so many skills that you wouldn't really get while sitting at home. Y'all are great parents, and she is quite the trooper!
She's born for this....n the way keeps talking to herself...is so so cute ❤❤❤
She is awesome when she says what is happening with every turn a big hill down run❤
I have a 6 year old daughter also. These videos move me to almost tears regularly.
She is soioo cool
All I can say Cashy is I wouldn't even sit down in one of those little dome sleds and go down that! You are brave!!🎉🎉
You guys blow me away every time!😃👍 Your surrounded by huge glorious mountains and it doesn't seem to affect you! WOW! Do it again Cashy!😊 Have a blessed weekend 💜 🙏 ✌️ 🌞💐🎶

Cash is outstanding!! I love watching her, she has the guts of a bull. Keep it going Cash, your confidence is exhilarating.
I live how she is coaching herself through the run. ❤❤❤ go little snow queen. Go!!
Girl: CAN WE DO THIS RUN AGAIN
Dad: yea
Is it just me or do I wanna just go down with no stopping, having immense speed and crashing into whatever is at the bottom with absolutely no regrets
On just the right part of the early season there’s a big drop if you go straight down from here, it’s a lot of fun. When it’s snowier they put a little speed race course that starts at the same spot
no believe me you don’t:) cuz i did it and now I’m left with a 4parts fracture
Absolutely adorable.
I love her coaching herself through the hard terrain
My parents threw me down cornice too, she did a LOT better than I did, but to be fair she’s a bit older than I was haha
I don’t know toe stomp or heel stomp and this 5 or 6 year old is snowboarding while I’m at home watching her vids
i love how she narrates her every move like she's a video game character
“Heel woahhhhhhhh😮” so sweet you’ve raised her so well
It goes without saying but imma say it anyway.
Cashy rips! 🤙
🤣🤣🤣 cool child.
I love her mic and listening to her keep control of herself with her own coaching! Just amazing she is!!
She’s so adorable especially those woah’s ❤
Cash, I don't suppose you are looking for sponsees??? At 63, I SO admire your positive self talk. I really do.
How can she do that I am 10 I can’t even stand on a snowbarad
This is my favorite type of family content
Love the way she talked herself down. Love Cashy
She is amazing..great job mom and dad
