The best set ever...... they did it LSS.... heavy hitters was so good and Mistveil os freakin awesome😊🤟
Best tcg to play ever...... no other tcg is near the gameplay that fab has.
Yep. Best mechanics and artwork in the industry, hands down. Lack of official online play is a double edged sword though.
@@upStomp theres quite a few other TCGs on the market right now that have mechanics as good as FAB tbh.
You must not play many other TCG's, FAB is great, but there is equally as good (or some may argue better) gameplay in other TCG's that exist right now.
@@anab0lic can you name 2, I am looking to play something else fun.
@@sandwhale4292 sorcery is better in my opinion.
ALERT ALL TIMMY'S!!!!!! GET IN ON THIS WHILE THE SINGLES ARE AT ITS PEAK!!! DO NOT MISS OUT TIMMY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I think there is likely an inverted Market in FaB because the pockets of healthy playgroups aren't as common as MTG and Pokemon. So there are a lot of stores with product who are selling sealed to recoup their investment because they couldn't build a local community. Meanwhile the flourishing playgroups are growing, like ours is, and there isn't enough singles locally to support demand which leads to increased singles prices online.
I think as the game continues to succeed and healthy playgroups become more common nationwide we will see the equilibrium of sealed and singles prices restored.
Great assessment
That's what it's like here in NC.
With all due respect (and I'm a patron), I'm not sure this video reflects the reality. Ok you cherry picked levels of enlightenment...that's one of the few cards that spiked 50% from release. But many other cards, including the higher rarity pulls (especially in rainbow foil), have crashed 40-60% in the same timeframe. The bigger issue though is total lack of velocity of movement on the sales themselves. These cards do not sell, especially the higher end expensive stuff. 1-4 sales per day tops on the big cards. So while on paper I might have made the 20-40% EV, there is a distinct lack of liquidity when compared to magic, pokemon, lorcana or even star wars. So that's my take on it. Agree on PCG slabs...they are doing great work.
Yep I looked at tcgplayer and everything I clicked on had price slope headed down. He clearly did not bother to check anything and based his opinion on a single patron sale and some random comments he got.
Thank you, you're 100% correct. The prices on 99% of singles TANKED from Thursday through Today, every single day. That's fine it's pre-release to release and it's expected to happen, but the prices continued to drop 50% or more daily for the first few days of release. I opened 10 cases (Zero gold packs by the way in those 10 cases). Plus the sales volume overall are EXTREMELY LOW, and this is with all of our singles prices readjusted to "lowest" daily.
It seems to me that Rudy tries to highlight positives in card games when he can. Especially the ones he backs. Just take what he says with a grain of salt. Patreon here too I love me some Rudy. Except when he keeps doing that thing where he says his name in every other sentence. Dude has so much Pokémon he turning into one.
The issue there is that players are buying boxes to crack and dump onto the second market and people are happy with that. You think players need more than 6 of the same cards to make a set? Come on mate
I love Flesh & Blood - best card game right now
Keyforge is a better game. Far more diverse meta
@@jasonjanisewski78 Keyforge Cards look like they are made for kindergarten kids like Lorcana
@@greenstreetmusic4683 That is not remotely true. Which cards by name specifically does that apply to? Also, that has nothing to even do with the argument. If someone says a game has a superior meta, it has nothing to do with the conversation to respond "well the art does not fit my preference since it isn't edgy enough." Is your argument that when people talk about a TCG's meta they are not talking competitive archetypes/deck builds but rather the art of the cards? I have never once heard of an Art Meta for a TCG ROFL
If fab stays around for the next 10 years and continues to to grow AND everybody keeps opening boxes then maybe sealed products will be rare in the future and be really high priced.. things that make u go HMMMM
looks like hyping rudy a bit, i see mistveil for 88 USD with free shipping... what are those cards youre talking about? I was searching and these are real unique cards, there is normal you dont have any one in the case as I saw
how is the US market always so different than the EU ? :D
more fab content and box breaks pls. thank you
These PCG slabs are gorgeous. Honestly puts even BGS to shame, and they're light-years ahead of PSA. They still don't have the premium of the other grading companies, but that reputation will take years to build. Keep grading those promo cards for patrons, Rudy!
Pcg doing very nice work with FaB!
No
@@katielowenI thought they looked better before Rudy's stake in the company was even a glint in his eye. PSA slabs are ugly as sin, and BGS is terribly dated, though not outright awful. But people grade Pokémon cards with PSA in their millions, so clearly the aesthetic doesn't bother them too much!
I agree. The PCG slabs look better@@MTGUnpacked
Our player base has been eating this set up. Loads of box openings, set building, and trading. Play is strong as well with weekly events at three stores in the area and they communicate so they do not overlap. I know it is not like this everywhere but the people that have tried it out around here have had many stick with it so far.
flesh and blood is great ngl its just competitive and fun
I mean some of these fab boxes have 5-10$ worth of value
This is facts. FaB needs to work out a way to include more in boxes to make every box at least feel decent with some spiking high. Even if you only make back 75% value that’s fine but right now FaB is by far the worst feeling boxes to open on the market. I’ve had to many times where I’ve opened $10 worth of cards from a box and that’s just awful. It’s the one area where Bandai kind of excels with its guaranteed hits per box, they just need to work on chases besides “god rares”
I bought a case of Misty and pulled $400+ worth of stuff. The EV for FaB boxes depends greatly on the popularity of the heroes and classes in the set. Yeah Tales of Aria boxes are going to be worthless right now, you can't use half the cards in the set. But, when a new hero comes out and there's a broken combo with ToA cards, that box will skyrocket. The ebb and flow of card prices can be drastic, you have to know the meta to really understand the FaB market.
@@TheTacticalBat i have opened like 80 fab boxes last 2 years some are good some are bad but there's no way ev is inverted most boxes are dog water.
the problem is the expensive singles that fetch a nice price now will be worth nothing in a few years when they are out of meta, look at the prices for cards from the first three sets. Outside of C&C nothing has value anymore and even C&C is far from the highs. I dont like that trend about FAB, will keep obeserving. Lets see if the living legend format will change anything.....aaaannnd Iam STILL waiting for PVE LSS....
CC, Enlightened Strike, art of war and Tunic after reprints still hold up. But i do fear they will go the same route as Arc skullcap, The fables for each set are still 200+.
@@sandwhale4292 E-strike is more than 50% below its high, same for AoW, C&C and Tunic..... maybe you are able to see a pattern here
PvE is never coming. LSS found a niche in highly competitive 1v1 and they're laser focused on it, for better and worse.
@@sandwhale4292 everything you took as example is at least 50% off its high, my argument stands.
James white confirmed on recent interview that pve is still far away
People don’t buy fab boxes because unless you buy by the case the box opening experience can be so absolutely dreadful compared to most modern games. I’m talking it’s not uncommon to just get 2 cold foil common equips and 7 bulk majestics from an $88 box. My case had 1 box that made me break even and the other 3 were dreadful.
Facts
Welcome to Rathe unlimited has 248,000 boxes printed and current costs ~$60. There's about ~12,400 of *each* legendary in existence (in rainbow foil), and about ~6200 fables. If you go based on fabtcg's global rankings, there's about ~12,000 accounts, and we can assume maybe 3-4000 of those are active weekly/monthly competitive players. That's about ~62 boxes of rathe out there per each high level player. That's about ~15 legendary cards per high level player. Most players don't keep each legendary just sitting around, or they upgrade their favorites to CF and get rid of the rest.
This completely ignores collectors, just focused on players. How many more players does the game need before these $60 boxes become $500 boxes? I posit not very many. If LSS can figure out the casual market, these old boxes - even unlimited ones - are going to go insane.
For a point of comparison - WTR has a print run comparable to 1/4th of Revised MTG, and a box of that sells for $8000. These boes won't go to 1/4 of a Revised box, but they could very easily 2-3-4-5x in a short amount of time if the player base starts to really pop in the near future.
No they won't. You are just looking at supply. They reprint playable cards and most collectors will not touch this game as we have been well aware of.
collectors don't touch this game lol
I agree, early sealed product is going to jump up after a few years. The game has only been around for 5 years, so people aren't nostalgic for drafting older sets yet. Give it another 5-10 years, and those sealed boxes are going to be in demand.
alrightfolksyourwatchingalphainvestments
Unrelated to your latest video, but since you create content on other TCGs, it's been announced that Akora TCG is closing. Another TCG that came around during covid boom via kickstarter and has been unable to survive after its initial success, if you can call it a success
Time flies. Wont be long before it's 2030. Rudy will no longer require his bi-annual hair cut purchased with a mailer coupon because he is bald. Arms will still be hairy of course.
As I’ve looked into starting to play FAB, almost every article/video I’ve seen said “Don’t buy boxes because you’ll end up with a ton of cards you don’t want. Just buy singles to make the deck you want.” That must be what everyone is doing and thus the wacky EV.
That’s entirely up to you. Yes it’s cheaper to purchase singles but how about consumers purchasing Pokémon cards? What are they doing with their bulk? Same situation with all other TCG’s.
If you're interested in starting FaB, I actually recommend picking up boxes instead of singles. All the different classes in FaB have very different vibes while playing. It's good to try out a few different classes before you dump money into a specific deck/hero.
has this guy ever ripped a fab box? this whole "inverted EV" shit is complete BS. does he genuinely think people wouldn't have already capitalized on this mystical EV if it actually existed from ripping fab.
He has videos of himself opening boxes? He did a whole thing where he went to a big event….He is definitely overestimating the strength of the fab market, but cards do sell and Rudy does support the game.
You can't be that daft
@@fastydave he is 100% right. Everyone and their mama would be buying / opening boxes if they could actually make $125/per box like he says.
@@fastydave there's a reason why people aren't buying up these boxes like madmen, you dunce.
I think FaB has way more upside potential over the years in terms of growth and value increase than MTG or Pokémon
It's been almost 5 years. There is zero potential when you have no little to no collectors in a TCG game.
@@silverwolf6866 Players who develop strong sentimental feelings to a tcg become collectors in 5 or 10 years. Gem mint first edition holy grail cards from the first couple sets, or first edition boxes of the first couple sets have huge potential if the game has staying power over the next couple decades. High risk, high reward
delusional
Investors are long gone from FAB and aren't coming back.
That's likely going to be their loss. The holy trinity of FaB sets WTR, ARC and CRU are going to be sought-after in the next 5-10 years. The game is still so new there hasn't been an opportunity to build up nostalgia for the early sets. The print runs were low on those sets, and most have been cracked by now. How many do you think will still be sealed in 2030? If people can't see past the next 2 years and hold firm, that's their loss.
@@TheTacticalBat How many do you think will care in 2030? 😂😂
@@clownworld8328 Time will tell and see who's laughing in 2030.
Don't forget the gold packs that is included every 10 to 20 booster boxes of mistveil

I alwais love the FAB art!
Hard to believe that you can still get a sealed box of WTR Alpha for less than $3k.
Cause the cards aren't worth it to play with at this point. No reason to buy them
Nice glad I got in on the Patreon sale

What's this about a gold pack?!?!?!
Occasionally. A box will have a gold pack. It's always enigma-2 (new moon). A young hero. It'll be RF or CF. Only 100 CF made
One of our lgs dropped fab because they couldn’t sell boxes at $110 lmao. Always tried saying that’s what their distributor charged lmao!!!

Folks!
Hate to tell you and I know it doesn’t benefit your business function but buying singles is an overall better investment when it comes to time and money for most players. If boxes have higher ev than box cost and you have a large amount of income to invest and the time to
Move the product to make money sure it works. Most player dont have the time or the income to make that happen making singles a much much better investment overall then sealed product.
Yeah! That's the thing right? Players want to upgrade existing decks with a few choice cards so they go the singles route more often than not. Good for stores when they can make some more profit there, too.
tacos
Folks!
Found the sealed product thing kinda interesting. At the store I go to people will open multiple cases of FAB as soon as the sets come out. Its the most I've ever seen people open boxes of any card game
It's a player driven game. The very healthy competitive scene/pro tour pushes people to try and pull expensive cards. Also FaB has a big trading scene, so pulling a good card for a class you don't play is also exciting. It gives you trade ammo to get cards you want. I'm sure sealed product will skyrocket after a few years out of print, but for now it's all about crackin packs.
I am doing a buyout on EVERY Magic card there is,
and plan on holding until the year 2182

Mistveil SELLS OUT - TACO'S SKYROCKET
This is because FAB has near 0 casual play, and is competitive only which is horrible. Add in, ignorant stores continue to overorder and the firesell anything that doesn't immediately go to the moon.
Rudy is the king of Dumps 😂
Rudy the correlation between box and cards that you mention isn’t real. If what you said is real than either Magic cards are VERY underpriced or Magic boxes are too expensive.
The truth is Magic cards are not worth the paper they are printed on yet the box is worth 400-500 dollar? I don’t think so…
PCG Slabs are legit
Fab has almost no casual players. It doesnt have the xommander style casual format everyone can juat pick up. Its also a lot harder game to play well.
That has been it's biggest problem. It isn't very approachable for casual gamers. There is a commander-like multiplayer format called Ultimate Pit Fight which is fun and can be played with any precon blitz deck. They have also been working on a cooperative PVE mode for the game which is specifically designed to appeal to casual and non-competitive gamers. Once that comes out (hopefully in 2025) that will create a huge on ramp for players to enjoy FaB. It'll help new players build up their skills and confidence to maybe show up to competitive events.
Folks! That's my favorite part.
