I really appreciate it when someone refers to a job as 'fairly straightforward' - its a term I use. I never use the words 'simple' or 'easy' because I find them to be condescending. George gave a really great presentation on PRD's and I just wanted to show my appreciation. Thank you.
Just wanted to say a big thanks to you guys, this is the third time one of your videos has led me to buy and replace a part rather than replace the whole unit. Having such excellent explanation and instruction makes repairing a much less stressful endeavour.
Thanks showerdoc. Found the correct replacement PRD very easily on your website using the product search. The replacement PRD arrived very promptly. The video made it very easy to do the replacement fitting - with absolutely no previous experience. Thanks for the safety advice that gave me confidence before taking the cover off the shower! Job done.
hi wonder if you can help me... I have had a new shower fitted. A mira sport, the older model purchased from ebay :). The shower runs absolutely fine, until someone turns the tap on downstairs, flushes the toilet, or even if the dish washer runs. Basically if any water device is used downstairs the water turns cold in the shower. Is there a cheap fix for this problem as im on a tight budget at the moment. Mains is direct into the boiler, which is a combi. There used to be tanks in the attic???
The handles on the front must engage with the flow valve and the 3 flat sections of the tank base assembly in the correct way, this maybe where the problem lies. These are very awkward to fit and it may take a couple of goes to get it right.
my redring expressions is 10 years old the hose got kinked at the head and water flows from the relief tube at the bottom someone said just get a washer ?? any ideas please
Shower is connected to water mains. I don't know what the water pressure is sorry, but the original shower was a triton & of less kw. Would a 'Flo~mate Mains Pressure Boost Pump' help for my situation? can it continue to provide my shower with adequate pressure even if a tap(s) (upstairs or downstairs) are turned on simultaneously during the showers use. Or is a 'Single ended power pump' better to use directly with the cold feed to the shower? This advice given to me by a local plumber! tx
Hi there, Fred in Essex, enjoyed all you videos on showers, think it is your first one, we have a shower at the end of that clip, the one with the big red know in the middle and the blue solenoid valve, thos thermal cut outs, are they the only thermostat on there?, whn they go open circuit do they cool down and work properly again or do you have to buy a new one, we have one that keeps knocking out the cut out switches, the flow rate seems perfect, rushes out...Fred NR Chelmsford Essex.
Hi thanks for the video. I have a 10.5 delux, which I have just connected a few weeks ago from today (It had been sitting on the wall for over 10 years waiting for me to get motivated to connect it). Been using it for about two weeks, and now the PRD is blowing. I have removed it and reset the ball, but it just goes again, so definitely need a new one. Should I be worried about the cause of this and if I fit a new PRD will it just keep blowing? The shower head came with the unit, so is old but is new in terms of service and so shouldn't have any build up of lime scale. I have tried the head in different modes blowing air into the pipe and the back pressure isn't massive. Is there a problem within the unit or could it be the ball slightly perishing having sat there doing nothing for possibly 10 years? Any thoughts greatly appreciated. BTW our mains water pressure is very good.

... Is there any ways for a alternative /after market prd for the Aqualisa quartz shower?.
Hi, do you have video on replacing prd on a selectronic shower please? It doesn’t seem as straightforward as most, thank you.
Thanks, we are glad you liked the video. Have a good day.
Could you do a video of the Redring premier selectronic
please 👍 showing how to replace the prv thanks

This just blew on our ivory 4. Found M5 screw fits quite nicely as a temporary fix 🤣
This fault is probably caused by a lack of pressure. Is the shower connected to the water mains? If it is do you have at least 1bar pressure ?
... apart from what I have mentioned, if you can advice me on how to measure the pressure then I can pass it on to you. tx
was missing the small rubber ball in safety valve , water kept coming out from the rubber hose (safety valve) , thank you Doc :)
I have a Neptune exotic shower can you show me how to change the PRD on this. Many thanks :)

My triton Clara showed runs for several minutes and then stops. It will then start itself after about a minute. Is this the solenoid or thermostats

You mean the Pressure Relief Device

Ah so there was a ball in the valve which has presumably now gone down my drain!

When the Thermal Cut Out(TCO) goes open circuit it means it has failed completely and needs replacing with a new one.
