Great review and I think it is a mistake by Cadillac to discontinue the XT5! I have a 2021 fully loaded and I love my Whip!! I’ve been a Cadillac owner since 2008, and I couldn’t see myself in anything else! The drive is unmatched in my opinion👍🏾💯
I completely agree with you on the ev b.s. No one that owns an ev does their research on how the minerals are mined. How little children as young as 3 are used to mine cobalt. Its modern day slavery. And I agree with you on the hydrogen front. Thank you for speaking the truth.
I think it's the best looking SUV in the world (Front lights so unique and eye catching). If they come down with the price, to 40k more people will buy. It's really a shocking news because I like to get this car in 2025 (could not afford this year).
I live around the corner from a Cadillac dealership and the EVs are not selling at all. Hopefully that'll drive the OTD price for the XT5 and XT4 models. At least I'm hoping it does so I can get one at a fair market price.
I just talked to a dealer in Pittsburgh and they are NOT discontinuing the XT-5; in fact they have the new 2025 XT-5 already in stock. It is a popular model and they have many 2024s in stock now in September 2024, but in 2 months, most will be picked over.
Great video again Kenny and that is a very nice SUV. Extra thanks for showing the awesome Fall colors. We don't really get that here so that was so nice to see!
In southern California. We do get some Fall colors but nothing like where you are. Just curious, have you ever done a review of a Q5? I got one about 6 months ago ad would love to see your evaluation. Hope you are doing great!@@703Speed
5 months later and I am still waiting for my Buick Envision. Now I see there is a Caddilac sale with the XT5 V6 Premium Luxury on sale for basically the same price as thr Envision when I factor in the dealer discount and lower interest rate. Gonna go test drive one of these today.
GM/Cadillac just told dealers they are going to extend the cut off date for XT5 will be the 2025 model. Love the interior colors of the XT5 you're showing. So cool and so old school Cadillac. I have a 2020 PremLux and won't give it up ever never had a issue. It's hands down my favorite vehicle that I've ever owned (I've had 24 new cars and about 100 used). I'm at 60k miles and it drives like the day I got it. There's nothing like it, V6 nat aspirated. Touch of a button on the fly twin clutch 4 wheel drive system, Quiet and smooth, and very quick. Not sure if for sure they will but on Cadillac society site. The have spy photos of a 2025 with refresh and yes it will have the dash etc like the 2024 XT4. @@michiganman8383
If true, it's very important to get the 2025 model year instead. XT5s are well-known for steep depreciation, except for the final model year, which will be closer to Lexus RX.
I have the 2023 XT5 Sport white exterior with maple sugar interior. Love it! I agree that electric is the wrong way to go. Hydrid combo is not a bad option. Hydrogen is a better future than electric. I think giving the public the option of which they want is still the best way to go. I don’t want to be forced into something, especially if the government gets their fingers into the pie.
Yes it's all about money as usual hydrogen was definitely the way n they could of made it better but everyone pluging in at night Same time is just a bad idea
@@703Speed I agree totally. I’m Canadian, and I’m pissed off that our current federal government thinks they can control our lives. They will be getting a rude awakening. Unbelievable how gullible people can be.
They will definitely regret getting rid of the XT5. Midsize is the most popular and with fuel prices unstable too. If you want to get rid of something lose the 6 because it’s not much larger and if anyone wants huge get an Escalade.
Thought for a while about getting a Cadillac Lyriq, but the fact is, EVs simply are not a good idea in rural Texas (or rural anywhere for that matter). So, it was a choice between a Buick Envision Avenir or a Cadillac XT5 (one thing driving this choice is the availability and reliability of the local dealer). I eventually selected the Buick due to price and the fact that the local Cadillac dealer did not have an AWD XT5 (plus I got a great deal on a leftover new 2023 Buick).
~ They have decided to go with the XT5 2025. Production begins in July, 2024...Hope it will be worth it; & improvements include better ex & int colors. (The electric vehicles are not catching on as they'd hoped...)
The Lyriq drives so much better than the XT5. - Lyriq is much more dependable than the XT5. I was ready to purchase the XT5 this past January and the Lyriq was parked next to the XT5 that I was interested in. After actually test driving the Lyriq and running the numbers against the XT5 the Lyriq proved to be a much better value. Until I found this video I had totally forgotten about the XT5. I chose that same Lyriq to purchase I have since road tripped with the Lyriq and use it as a daily driver. It is very clear the Cadillac XT5 Premium Luxury needs to be retired since it no longer makes sense to continue selling it next to the Lyriq.
I think it would be very bad if they kill off this model entirely with the new Lincoln Nautilus which just raised the bar for this segment in so many ways
I think there will be 1 more year of the XT5 in North America, not the new redesigned model they are making in China but one more year of the current design here.
They shouldn't discontinue this vehicle, but they should update the screen sizes because they're outdated according to what I have been seeing. For reference, just look at the BMW X5, the Mercedes GLE 450, and the Lincoln Nautilus just to name 3, who have much bigger & updated tech / screen sizes.
@rlsedition The media screen size isn't my decision maker, but it is nice knowing that I have the latest technology. I'm paying good money, and I don't want to settle for less than the best tech features.
@@djjohnnyparis5183 To each their own, of course, but it depends on where that "latest technology" resides. I'll be ready for a new vehicle in about 2 years and the XT5 was on the top of my list of new ones. Very sad to hear their killing it I don't think hydrogen is the future but I do think the hybrids are. Electric DEFINITELY is not!
