THIS is what music is all about... spend time with loved ones and have fun together. You shine not only with a good clawhammering but with a slight and breezy style and your voice is a perfect 10 to the meaning of this kind of music. You not only make the kiddies day a brighter one... I stumbled accidentally to here and you made my heart warmer and me smiling. What a perfect match... Just to repetite it... This is what music is all about, and what can be seen in this video: Be at yourself. Even if your technique is great, and the voice fits perfect, its not the goal. And if someone says, it's ofc not the hardest song, not the toughest deal in this kind of music and others do it better - just turn your ears to the other side...You are a complete package and that is much more. You make your kids smile and thats more worth than a million bucks. Even way more known musicians dream of beeing free in chosing the way of living music. Seems you are miles ahead... And to not forget it - your kids learn with their ears, eyes and hearts that music ist best handmade...
Annie young lady you are great on banjo and your voice is very pretty just like you are and the kids are just precious.I enjoyed the video very much. Thanks all be blessed.
It is so great to hear someone playing Claw Hammer style banjo for a change and that is about as good as it gets. Have listened to this video many times and only wish she had more banjo videos on RUclips.
this is what makes this country Great. Asian woman playing country pickin music. We are all different but music is the great music that brings us together. Also she is good.
mypugsdad Thats the good part of immigration, her family immigrated there, lived peacefully, didnt try to in-stow their culture on other people and she adopted her own, its a great thing...unfortunately theres evil sides of immigration too, mass immigration and the immigrates they put over here try to force their cultural on other people where it does not belong, anyways great video and great player
My 2 year old loves this video. She sees the kids and says “toddus!” (toddlers!). She loves seeing the kids getting into the music, and even dances along and slaps her legs along with them.
This! is where children learn music. By the time they get to grade school they just don't understand the results of the tasks they're given or care enough. And because there's a lot of the little chicks in the classroom the respect...properly playing for joy just isn't shown in the classroom. It's just a completion of task, for the children, but for the few already, musically inclined. Those few often one or if your lucky three a class... discover Magic in a classroom. Every child should have a musical language for when even for the greatest wordsmiths sometimes, find no meaningful words despite our vast collection . "Nothing words can say, Then start strummin and you'll be fine." Words to live by. Thank you for showing why the effort is worth it. Your children will thank you for it one day.
Annie..I absolutely love this video. Finding you recently I've discovered a young person who is carrying our wonderful musical heritage into the future. You are so talented and so joyful and exude such happiness I ALWAYS feel a healing listening to you sing and play. The world is such an awful place these days. When I listen to you and see you smile and work so hard to create such astonishing music, my heat is refreshed with hope and my smile returns. Thank you always for sharing your talent and gifts with our world. You may not know it but you make our " day to day" a better and happier place :) God Bless always.

Wow! That was just beautiful. What a great way to start the day down here in Australia. That was just a pleasure to hear and to see. A beautiful, talented, and happy woman, beautiful happy children, and pure musical joy in the moment. Magic!Thank you for posting this Annie, it made my day. Keep up the great musical journey too, as no doubt you are. Your joy is very heartwarming, and your talent most apparent. Thank you! I will have to look into purchase of your cds so we can enjoy more of your music here.
I've played 5-string banjo for 43 years -- primarily 3-finger bluegrass style -- but when I do play clawhammer-style (frailing) I STILL find it impossible to drop-thumb as Annie so effortlessly does. My hat's off to you, Annie, you make it all look so smooth and easy... and you sound fantastic, too!
Those kids are just too danged cute! They almost steal the show. I feel the same way when I hear great music. Just can't keep still. Great pickin and a great old song!
Hi Annie, Love your banjo playing and singing. Would like to see more videos of you singing and playing the banjo. Thank you so much for sharing your great talent with us.
Annie, that is the most adorable thing!! And look at how they adore you! And the rhythm they're connecting with just being around you! Made my day watching this. xo
Its a pleasure to listen to Annie, i hope she will make a new video with the Orange Blossom Special, because that song is fantastic when Annie plays this song,i wish Annie all succes, from the Netherlands.
Well looks like you've got 2 more pickers on the way Annie!!! Absolutely bloody brilliant young lady!!!! Can't wait for your album!!! Cheers from Down Under :)
Just discovered this channel. I have 3 favorite violinists in the whole world: Stuart Duncan, John K. Mailender and Annie Stanenick. In terms of listening pleasure I deem them as equals. That is saying quite allot.

Staninec sounds like someone from Kyrgyzstan haha
mypugsdad I'd say she's 100% American.
+mypugsdad Check out her right hand. She plays without finger picks! That's really hard to do on a banjo. She needs to get into a recording studio!
That has got to be one of the CUTEST videos I've ever seen (the banjo playing was good too).
Such a great clawhammer rendition!
My 2 year old loves this video. She sees the kids and says “toddus!” (toddlers!). She loves seeing the kids getting into the music, and even dances along and slaps her legs along with them.
What an inspiration you are Annie !!! You are an outstanding musician... all American too.
