The most unbelievable part about this entire movie is not all of the sci-fi stuff about the Adjustment Bureau, but the fact that someone who actually cares about the people would make any headway at all while running for office...

I actually think most first-time politicians run for office with good and noble intentions and visions. And then they hit a brick wall of cutthroat corruption, and either jump into the cesspool or wash out.
A fun little idea. The classic free will vs predestination argument. A cheeky twist is that everything is predestined, but whoever is making the rules wants people to eventually be weaned off predestination so true free will can exist. For a small movie, there are lots of interesting worldbuilding ideas; like all doors being connected by a dimensional hub, hats disguising the Agents, waterways creating a sort of dead zone. A lot of thought and care went into the movie.
