Thx for the video. I'm a new Tech, I was wondering why you didn't pump down the condenser instead of recover the freon . Not questioning just learning!!!!
Welcome to the industry. I didn't pump this system down cuz it's a R410 system which is a blend refrigerant & there's no way to tell how much of each refrigerant leaked out as R410 is a 50/50 blend so I could have 70% of the one type & only 30% of the other left in the system & the leak was bad enough that there was a lot of condensables in the system meaning air. I wanted to remove all of it, replace the coil, get a good vacuum on the system & start with fresh virgin refrigerant so the system works properly & that's the correct way it should be done. Always remember if you half ass something who will be getting called out when it stops working again? It will be you or your coworker & believe me it will happen on a Saturday or Sunday or later in the evening during the work week. That's just how it always happens. Great question Samy & Subscribe to the channel bro 🛠️👍

I did want to get my camt before getting into property management though. Now I'm EPA universal and have my CPO which most properties are fine with.
@Christov Exactly! I have my CAMT. Definitely a good thing to have on the ol' resume in the apartment industry 💪 I've been doing apartment maintenance full time since 2002 & started in 1999 when I turned 16 as summer help, I power washed, painted, drywall repairs, trash removal, turning apts, minor plumbing & whatever was needed. Then after high school in 2002 got a full time job at the property I worked at as summer help those past 3 years. Took HVAC/Plumbing in technical school (Vo-tech) during high school. Became a tech once a position opened after 1 full year of being a groundskeeper. Was a tech at that property for 6 years until I got offered a maintenance supervisor job at another company. Haven't looked back since & I have always added to my resume & learn something new everyday. The more you can do in house to save your company money the more valuable you become.
@Christov Trust me there's times I wish I was still a tech. Come to work do work orders or whatever needs done and go home, take my on call every rotation and not have much stress. Being a supervisor puts alot on your plate with making sure everything is getting done & getting done correctly, I do all the make ready scheduling, keep the shop stocked, get bids, take care of the pool chemicals, I do all the AC work as both my techs are still learning, I always have to have the answers & be the go to guy when a tech can't fix something and when they may miss a call I respond (which has happened twice). Seems like everytime I need to get scheduling done something comes up that pulls me off scheduling and the work keeps stacking. When I ran my property in Pennsylvania we had to do the snow removal on top of everything else cuz that stuff doesn't stop just cuz it snows. But I definitely love the pay, & couldn't go backwards in salary. So just gotta take the good with the bad. I like teaching my techs and being a leader, the more they know the better it is for me.
@Christov The supervisors you had that didn't want to teach were worried you would of taken their job at some point. I don't get guys like that. The more you know the better off they are.
Awesome glad you found the channel. The company provides the major tools like the vacuum pump, recovery machine, recovery tank, leak detector, brazing torch kit, & the digital gauges. The unit is almost 6 years old, place was built in 2014 & opened March of 2015 so all the units are dated September of 2014. But as you know so many of those Goodman awuf coils leak at that copper to aluminum connection, but this one actually leaked across the middle of the coil I just didn't get a video of the leak search. But I'm with you on these coils, one thing I can say is "Job Security". Thanks for watching Sean 👍
Try this one on for size. An apartment complex (new construction) has up-flow air handlers connected to ceiling duct work. The air handler has an EXTERNAL filter that covers what should be the coil. ???? Is it even possible that the blower is at the top? None of it makes sense to me.
What kind of unit is it ? Sounds just like the units I have here. Mine are Goodman & the filter is external which does cover the coil & the blower is at the top of the unit. I was waiting for someone to ask. It was a leaker, very low on charge and 410a is a blend refrigerant, who knows how much leaked out of each refrigerant. So the best way is to just recover what's left, make the repair and go back with virgin refrigerant when you know the system has a equal blend of 410a. Thanks for watching Ricky 👍
