I had no idea that the same guy who voiced Hawk Moth also voiced Professor Oak!

About Benjamin Diskin. IDK who casts him but they'd know that he can voice the old man(you can hear his old man voice in Chris Niosi's Stream named Charity of the Seven Stars. He voice the Elder of Seaside Town and Yaridovich/Speardovich), but not that kind the old man.

It is an old opinion for a reason. When I typed those thoughts on Ben Diskin's Oak, I was referring to the fact that sometimes with certain tv projects, casting/voice directors don't have the time to cast far and wide for voice actors. An actor would need to be cast quickly and promptly to meet deadlines, and an actor who is on that talent agency roster for that game or tv show etc. who is readily available makes that easier. I don't know if that was the case for The Two Professors, I'm not a casting director, but I know that when a younger actor is cast as an older/elderly character, and it's obvious the actor sounds like they're trying to do an older voice like with here, it's distracting. I can't help it, it's a pet peeve of mine.

    1. Stuart Zagnit: Zagnit's work as Oak is iconic. He really deserves more credit for this role.
    2. Joe J. Thomas: Definitely a bit on the corny side, but it's very Oak-y.
    3. Kyle Hebert: Hebert's take is more closer to the game version of Professor Oak.
    4. Ben Diskin: Sounds like a tamed version of James Carter Cathcart.
    5. Keith Silverstein: Not a bad voice, but it should be more Oak-y.
    6. James Carter Cathcart: As far as I can tell he is not suited for this role at all. Yes, he is a perfect voice for Gary Oak but not his grandfather.
