- I.... don't have anything to say about this other than: It was an idea that popped in my head the morning of filming and I ran with it like Forrest Gump ran away from his responsibilities.
Do you ever just want to slip away from small talk at a gathering and become interior design? Who hasn't! So I decided I wanted to make a dress that would allow me to do so.
It was way more difficult than I expected but eyyyy, that's what this channel revolves around right?
ANYWHOOOO, enjoy!!

Hi Rachel, me and my grandmother (89) used to watch your videos together, she was a seamstress and was a huge fan of your work. She passed away a few weeks ago, and I wanted to thank you for making my grandma so happy during her last months, I wish you all the best ❤
Sorry for your loss! ❤
I'm so sorry to hear that. RIP grandma
My condolences. GOD rest her soul. 🙏🏻
I'm sorry for your loss, I hope you have the support you need right now ❤️
Ohhh, that just made me tear up 😢
I'm so sorry for your loss, but I'm glad for you that you have such warm memories with her ❤
This has big Jenna marbles painting herself to blend into her chair energy
(Edit: to say I was shook when Rachel said the exact same thing would be an understatement!)
I came here to say exactly this!
With her own spin on ~32 year old lady~
We all miss her ❤😢
😁
deeply grateful to have Rachel carry on the torch of Jenna's chaos
😂This really happened to me. I found some gorgeous fabric and made a dress to go to my friend’s wedding - all was well until we got to the reception and found - you guessed it - that all the curtains in the room were … my dress fabric - and my space to sit was right in front of them - the photos are priceless 😂😂
😂😂😂😂
I actually LOVE this!! thanks x
God thats hilarious! I would pay to see those pics lol
Oh dear!😂
😅😅😅
tbh the fit with the back brace is GORGEOUS, I didn't even realize it was a back brace
I was told it was a back brace and the whole time I was like WHAT AWESOME HIGH PANTS/AWESOME BELT
attach some buttons and leather accents, and it's a cute corset
It's giving Jared the goblin kin
IKR? I wanna know what brand she’s using!
Honestly it's reminding me of Briar Rose/Princess Aurora. Thought it was just a big belt/bodice situ and just went with it.
Jenna Marbles: chair
Micarah Tewers: drapes
Rachel Maksy: wallpaper
Friends, I am absolutely agog, waiting to see what Karolina does . . .
same
Carpet? 😂
Table cloth?
My brain immediately said subway station wall tiles. No, I don't know why. 😅
What is Karolina’s channel??
not me thinking that her back brace was a super cute thick belt and being like "I want One!
Omg same 😂 I was like "ooh big statement belts are back in"
I also thought it was a belt! 😂
Yup, here too
Yup. Not sure the belt is cute, but the way Rachel's blouse blossoms from the top of it certainly is.
Oh, no…I recognized it immediately, I was a CNA before I was an RN and I’m 71 now and wear one to clean. But on Rachel…chef’s kiss!
Most people can’t pull of a back brace. You turned it into a pirate barkeep. 10/10
I was getting Goblin King vibes especially with the wild hair!
"What if... I was the wall?" she asked herself, refusing to realize how hard a wall's life really is.
The hair and fit are giving ✨Thumbelina✨ and I’m here for it
True!!!!
with some Stevie Nicks vibes mixed in! (imo)
That's 100% what it's giving
I love her hair!!!
That’s what it is!
Things Rachel has done/said that now live in my head rent free:
1. "Gooooood ennnooooouuuggghhhh"
2. That sad duck sound she uses when things go wrong
3. "It's CURSED!"
With cursed sounding like "couised" 😂
I literally sing Goooood enough! So much now that my husband does it to make me laugh thinking he’s copying me. I told him I ripped it off Rachel
"Don't look at meeeee..."
It's my new motto!
Omg the good enough one, yes ! Everyday ! And no one gets where it's from 😅
That reveal scene was cinematic. The acting, the writing, the directing! 😂 so good I’m crying
so so good right?!!! was wondering how in the world she was able to spin around like that, too
1) A real well made corset is amazing for back support. 2) to continue your floor troll days well into your 30s, try to teach yourself to sit in a yoga position that is comfortable. You are stretching out your back whilst you are on the floor. The cat-cow stretch is a great one that reminds you to keep your back and arms steady. The pigeon pose is actually really fun, and allows you to have both hands to use. The frog pose is the most fun. 3) I now want to make a dress that looks like wallpaper. I propose we start a trend of posting pictures where we blend into our environments with our outfits. Great idea! You are the Bob Ross of RUclips sewing! I would watch you paint happy little trees and turn specks into birds any day.
Great advice in this comment
Rachel, Jenna, Micarah, and my great grandmother what do these lovely ladies have in common? The innate inner need to turn themselves into decor pieces around their homes.
Shout out to your great grandmother🗣️
Love this! my first thought about this vid was "oh my gosh, it's like what Micarah did!"
YESSS MICARAH!
@@morgannrosee she had this arm chair that she loved the fabric it was made with. So she took it to a fabric store managed to track down the same fabric and turned it into a skirt. We still have the chair! Alas I’m not sure what happened to the skirt.
the makeup, the hairstyle, the comedy of the process.. *chef's kiss*
also, that dress is NOT ugly, Rachel! you made something so simple and silly really cute. this felt like a drag challenge.
And NOT useless. Just knowing this person exists gives me hope
Rachel: It’s been a long time since I made something brown.
Also Rachel: [Painted the entire Frozen Castle brown 3 videos ago.]
Dunno, 3 videos is a record, I think... 🤔
In regards to people quoting books, yes, they absolutely did that!
the ultimate wallflower dress!!!!
Underrated comment!
Also literal 😁
Yes! 🌼
my husband shouted “WORK AT A TABLE” right before you mentioned knowing everyone was yelling about that at home. amazing.
Love the dress! Also it reminded me of Joseph Brodsky's poem:
Don’t leave the room! Let furniture keep you company,
vanish, merge with the wall, barricade your iris
from the chronos, the eros, the cosmos, the virus.
Holy shit this is on point
I love that quote! Perfect encapsulation of a socially anxious introvert.
When Jenna left she took a part of my heart with her and the fact that you do the funny skits and references to her makes me so happy!! You'll forever be my comfort creator
For real
See, youre the only youtuber I actually enjoy seeing what you do with brown so much. You make it cute, with patterns or style. Youre not "sad beige baby" style with your browns. Theres a multitude of browns, and flowers, stripes, corsets, skirts, shirts, pants, dresses, gingerbread doll houses. Like you make up for not having a super wide variety of color, by having the variety be texture, details, and shape. All this to say, live your brown autumnal clothed dreams.
Seconding this. I do not like brown, I do not wear brown, in fact I just dyed a brown vintage dress black today!
But Rachel has a way with brown
It's brown maximalism! Rather than minimalism
@@theblackkat1688 warm full brown rather than empty sad brown. :)
Between Christine McConnell and now Rachel, focusing on their wallpaper, I’ve begun looking at my walls holding a very small paintbrush…my husband has started staring at me, staring at the wall and I think he’s trying not to cry
Snort laugh
The Perks of Being a Wall(paper)flower!
It is official. I now need a collab video with Micarah Tewers in her curtain dress and Rachel in her wallpaper dress making chaotic and fabulous outfits from random house hold items!
Omg they would be fantastic together! I would love a video like that.
Yes there was a Micarah moment when Rachel was narrating the wallpaper dress ad in the reveal!
ah the pink panther of it all 😂
The moment I saw the title I was violently thrown back into the memories of that movie LMAO
Yes! 👆🏻
Clouseau would be proud
YES 😭😭
I bopped over here to say exactly this and I am delighted someone beat me to it
The “Yellow Wallpaper”-ification of Rachel Maksy 😂❤
As a fellow floor gremlin with a bad back, I feel you. My brace is a blue that matches NONE of my clothes. 😩
The dress turned out super cute, and the ad for it had me cackling! 😂
Rachel, you are unnecessarily way too tough on yourself. You're so talented and make wonderful content no matter where you and Frodo's adventures lead you. The dress really is beautiful and it does look like an authentic late 60s early 70s pattern. I know I was there first hand. I'm going to sing your back brace song to my pain Dr.
Rachel is a true...Maksymalist...😂😂
I need a tee shirt that says “Maksymalist!” @rachelmaksy I think we found a name for your fandom, and an excellent candidate for merch, should you ever wish to make it. Well done, @poppyblack3356
13:25 Rachel: "🎶This is gonna take a...." Me:🎶 "This is how we do it..."
Also: If you do not think that I am going to take this idea of throwing images onto my clothing and trace it out for embroidery, you are sadly mistaken. What a fantastic idea!!!
The character development of Rachel moving on from her floor troll arc and towards having better posture is what I live for. xD
"Hello I'm in my 30's" had me wheezing. It was far too true and hilarious. I am feeling seen. Also I think the dress is actually really cute.
I know you typically use vintage paper patterns, but seeing as you have an actual projector, using the projector for patterns is a GAME CHANGER! No more cutting paper pieces. Just project and cut and you’re done. So so easy!
Having just printed out a whole stupid pattern TWICE because it didn't print with borders and I legit could not see where to cut and was going crazy, then cutting the whole dumb thing out while remembering I was going to have to do it all AGAIN in a grownup size.... I'm now seriously considering if buying a used projector would be cheaper than the ink and aggravation 😅
@@moxiebombshell projectors are such a huge time saver if you’re using modern patterns. I will say, there are pros and cons to both sides. Once you have a pattern cut out, it’s there and you can grab and go. But I do a lot of sewing for my little one and obviously I have to adjust the pattern size frequently. On the other hand, I sew in my attic and if the internet decides to be fickle, sometimes I have problems connecting to the projector. But overall I like using it! Again saves on paper and ink!
This is so clever!
Honestly, I think it's cute. In my head, I see this worn at some 70s hip folk music tribute band concert. Pre painting, you looked like you jumped right out of any of the great 60s and 70s sci-fi shows in the US and Britain. It truly appeals to my inner geek.
Yes! That's why the unpainted dress seemed so familiar. Add long sleeves and make it red. It's almost Lt. Uhura's uniform from the OG Star Trek.
I am wholly and totally here for these “The Yellow Wallpaper” vibes. 🙌🏼
I still can never tell what is a wig, when she pulled off her ponytail my jaw literally dropped. Such sass!
I actually LOVE your opening outfit, back brace included! I was like "oooh, i love a super wide belt look." They should make back braces in cool styles, so they can be a fashion statement as well as support 🔥
I seriously thought "another awesome belt!" before she said it was a back brace!
WHY HAS NO ONE THOUGHT OF THIS BEFORE?? It's so brilliant!
Corsets :) underbust or waspie would be a similar look. You dont have to cinch the waist. Just needs to be fitted!
The back brace business would sell a lot more back braces if they made them look and work like an actual belt. Yeah! 🖤
You singing “Murder on the Dance floor” brought back the repulsion and shocking nature that was Saltburn and then you cursed at it and it made me feel better.
The graveyard seen is burned in my memory and I hate that I can enjoy that song without thinking about it. I’ve never had such a visceral reaction when watching a movie.
Most people blend into the wall paper by accident. Rachel... I will do that for real. Totally nailed it.
Cutting on a table and sewing at the proper height?? Who is this woman?! 😘
This is silly in the best possible way. Incredible “because I wanted to” vibes. I wanna match my wallpaper now.
Makes me want to install wallpaper so I can blend into it 😂
Next level of camouflage: Wednesday Addams spying on the new nanny😄 But seriously this was such a fun make! You matched the colors perfectly!
(Re the back brace- I was admiring the way you put a waist cincher broad belt with your shirt and split skirts. Never woulda guessed! It is very much fashion style liked that. No shame in wearing health aids. But extra pride in making them fabulous!)
"I'm in my 30's and my body is disintegrating" is such a mood. Also I felt that brain shutdown so hard. u-u
What a cool project! The dress turned out looking so cute! The illusion is really neat and the fact that it's all painted is super impressive! owo
This is so cool Rachel. It’s very you. I showed your reveal to hubby, who said, “do you know her?” And I said “no but she makes videos that make my brain happy”. 😃
THEY DID QUOTE IT BACK they had notebooks called commonplace books where they essentially wrote down what they found interesting in books, pamphlets, conversations etc so they could memorize it
I just love how you made the dress blend into the wall. Just awesome! But what I really loved is how you took that back brace and made it past of a chic throw together outfit, now that's awesome!!
The sheer confidence it takes to make this, to see a wall and say 'yeah I can paint that'- you never cease to amaze me
Rachel is definitely "weird Barbie" (I mean this as a compliment 😅)
Or Chrissie, I still have my Velvet doll from the 70’s she is still the quite one 😂
That reveal was the best EVER! I laughed so hard! You really could make really good comedy sketches.
Hahahah literally channelling Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows
And also Wednesday Addams. 😁
I was thinking Sherlock Holmes! But I forgot which movie it was, thanks :)
Rachel, I hope you take the opportunity to invite people over so you can wear this dress and see if anybody notices.
The Darcy outfit is a everything
Your outfit at the beginning reminded me of Ariel's dress when she goes to see the town with Eric (OG animated version). I literally did not see it was a back brace. The outfit plus the red hair immediately connected to the Little Mermaid.
Also, great job and good for you doing projects that bring you joy!
Hi, Rachel.
My name is also Rachel, and I was a redhead until very recently, therefore we are soul sisters.
Two things:
1. My mom used the exact projection technique you used here to trace Disney scenes onto our walls as a kid and fill in the tracings with paint to create the most magical Disney bedroom ever made.
2. In keeping with us being soul sisters, I also have terrible posture and have struggled with discomfort and pain in my upper and lower back. I have recently put myself on an exercise regimen to correct my posture and alleviate my back pain. In case you find them helpful, here are some of those exercises I've been doing:
A) Stand against a wall with your heels, butt, shoulders, and head touching the wall. With your arms at a 90-degree angle and keeping all of those touchpoints against the wall THE WHOLE TIME, move them up and down along the wall 10 times or so. You should feel it in between your shoulder blades. It's the final exercise he does in this video: ruclips.net/video/N0hpxqIePaQ/видео.html Do a set of 10 of these whenever you think of throughout the day-- maybe 3-4 times a day to start.
B) Y's and T's like in this video: ruclips.net/video/MorP7xmdOac/видео.html I do these standing, bending over with my torso parallel to the floor (not straining my lower back), and I can only do 2 1/2lb weights in each hand so far. 4 sets of 8 Y's and 8 T's.
C) BACK EXTENSIONS. Start them with no weight on, then if you keep it up, add 10lbs onto your upper back. Do them like this video, beginning at 5:05: ruclips.net/video/DY4lqOkXQtY/видео.html These have completely changed my lower back. 3 sets of 12.
D) Supermans. I hold one of these for 45sec. at the end of my back workout. Demo: ruclips.net/video/cZxtPxeR2H8/видео.html
I believe some gentle strength training (along with elevating your work surface like you did here) will greatly assist with your back pain. Anyway that's all k I luv u byeeeee!!!!!!
"Part of the crew, part of the ship ", lol. 😉😂 Hoist the colors, captain Rachel. The Dutchman always needs a captain. 😂😁
The Home Camouflage Trio: Jenna Chair, Micarah Curtains, and Rachel Wall!
I love how the dress turned out! So pretty! I love seeing fun experiments like this!
Pointless project?
This is what I am here for!! Hilarious 😂!
And let's be honest, we all admire Rachel's drawing and painting skills! 😮💕
I love how you talk to the camera like we all have a window into your head and just speak whatever comes to mind. All the references and shenanigans make me giggle and so happy! I aspire to be more like you, maybe less floor troll, but we can both work on it. 😂
Actually obsessed w your hair in this video, it looks so so good
My first thought was "Damn her hair is to die for today!" So gorgeous 😍
Absolutely true. This is a very good glam look for you , It is magic.
lil painting tip: if you want a muted green, add a tiny bit of magenta!
it brings it into a less saturated green without making it gray, if that makes sense ?
this can work with any color! just add a bit of whatever color is opposite it on the CMY color wheel
Not to sound too much like someone who ALSO liked Garden State a lot, the visual language of the beige wallpaper dress (which is amazing, by the way) combined with the flaming red hair is *chef's kiss*. I feel like the '60's/70's shape and soft color kind of leans more Wes Anderson than Zach Braff. You just need the right soundtrack and some weighted visual symmetry.
Okay, so here's the thing...
A thing you may not have noticed, but I have DEFINITELY noticed as I worked through an INSANE knitting project (two 60" x 80" blankets which were also the first two blankets I ever made)??? I've been quietly working through YEARS of your back catalogue in reverse (because you are not the news cycle and your content is a cozy and chaotic delight). You are now actually pretty skilled, and maybe more than you know. There was a time when you'd never draped, you'd never used a pattern, you'd never used fabric medium, you'd never thrifted tablecloths and sheets. I just spent weeks of quietly making my own thing while watching the reverse evolution of your entire creative process. I get what it is to feel overwhelmed (I'm currently working on a set of insulated privacy panels that are hand bound in full backstitch and double overcast felled, 40-50 hand-stitched buttonholes per set, and will have four complete sets of decorative fashion fabric lined inner panels...and which will probably entail about $10K in sewing labor hours), but there was absolutely nothing in this project that was beyond your capabilities and you solved your problems in some wildly creative ways.
You are no longer a beginning sewist, and I also wonder what secrets and functionalities your other sewing machine has that you have yet to discover.
Seriously. You're amazing.
And I'm sitting here sewing this freaking amazing (and insane) project that will give me the most bad@$$ curtains on the planet. It isn't just the technique side of things I gleaned from folks like Bernadette Banner and Noelle of Costuming Drama and my seamstress and costumer best friend and others, but a huge part of the process of how the blank to pattern draft the shape of freaking truck windows that are nothing but curves and are at a pitched angle came from watching you make mistakes and hit walls. The answer, by the way, is a very large roll of heavy duty aluminum foil (enough to helmet a conspiracy theory army) crushed into the shape, gently removed, and traced onto kraft paper.
Keep up the good work, and this dress is amazing, as are you.❤
The illusion really works! It almost looks like you're wearing green screen and just projecting the wallpaper into it in some shots.
This harkens to the "Jenna as a chair" era. Fan-tab-ulous idea! :)
I actually quite like the different front and back, it's a fun effect. People see you from the back and think "nice but plain" and then you turn around and BOOM wallpaper pattern!
I love the whole concept of this dress. It was basically my primary goal throughout elementary-high school to fade into the woodwork and not draw attention to myself for many reasons. The first one was because I was extremely shy. #2 was because I was child#6 out of 8 children and we were constantly compared to our older siblings. #3 was because I was bullied a lot throughout my life and I didn't want to draw any attention to myself. #4 I didn't want to make waves or cause any trouble for my family or myself that was partly due to some of my older siblings who made some wrong choices when choosing friends and activities that would affect their lives. My parents had enough to deal with and they definitely didn't need any more challenges. I actually hid my artistic talents and even my level of intelligence to keep the spotlight from being on me. My senior English teacher tried to flunk me because I wasn't more like my eldest sister who was very much into art and theater which that teacher had a huge hand in each year. I happened to love art in all mediums and was pretty good at a number of different forms of art. I had grown up around the theater guild that my parents and friends/neighbors had and attended many rehearsals and performances that they put on in the clubhouse in our neighborhood. As children our friends who lived right around our street and houses would put together plays, costumes, backdrops, props, held auditions, made programs and sold tickets for a nickel or a dime which covered refreshments. We usually had 30 people who would come watch our plays. I guess because I looked so much like my eldest sister that teacher assumed that I would act like her and do everything that she did while in high school. My younger sister had to deal with a similar situation when she was earning her nursing degree. She would constantly tell me what this teacher would say to her as she compared us which was crazy because I didn't even remember the teacher who was doing it. After my parents had moved8 hours away from our childhood home it was too late to transfer to the University where I finished my degree so I spent a year taking basic classes at the community college an hour from our new home. Apparently I encountered this teacher during that time. I actually became an elementary school teacher and I had two major things that I would never do or allow someone else to do in my classroom or with my students. Each year I would tell my students that they were like my own children and family and we didn't pick on each other, call anyone names, and bullying was not allowed ever. Our classroom was a safe zone and they could come to me and tell me if anyone was doing anything that broke our rules. For whatever reason the teachers from the grade below the one I taught would come to give me the heads up on my new students for the year and they tended focus on the negative and that really bothered me so I started saying that the only information I needed was if they had any special education needs or a complicated home situation, but I didn't want to hear about their siblings or how they were just like so in so. I found that my students trusted me more for being open and honest with them. I had to use a rolling walker due to my yet to be diagnosed spinal cord injuries. I explained why I had to use it and answered their questions so that it wasn't an issue. I had a little girl who was in tears and extremely angry after the class returned from PE. Apparently another student had done something and the PE teacher assumed it was the little girl because she was supposedly just like her brother, which she said to the little girl when she made her sit on a bench for the rest of the class. The little girl was so upset and said that she never wanted to go to the PE class again. I took her outside while my assistant got the others started on a writing project. I explained that I would never compare her to her brother who had many behavior issues as a result of abuse he had suffered from his father. I told her that I only cared about her and her feelings, her feeling good about herself and that she was a smart little girl who was loved not only by her mother, but by my assistant and myself. I promised to talk to the PE teacher and would ask her not to assume that she was the guilty one immediately without talking to her and the other students (the actual student who had caused the problem had confessed that they had done it and the little girl had nothing to do with it.) I also asked that if possible she wouldn't compare her to her brother because she is nothing like her brother. In my classroom if you got in trouble for something or had a bad day I didn't carry that over to the next day. Each day was a new day with a clean slate. I wish more teachers had been more like how I treated my students because they would have seen a huge difference in how they interact with each other, how they behave, their willingness to do things for others and their eagerness to learn. I can't even count how many times I was asked how I got my classes to listen and behave wherever we went as a class, how I got individual students to behave and do their school work and not disrupt their class. They didn't understand that it was really a matter of respect and listening to them. If you don't feel respected you're less likely to pay attention and do whatever that person wants you to do. I could always tell when a teacher really listened to what I had said because they suddenly weren't having the same issues with my students and other students in other classes. Treat others how you want to be treated and you will have amazing results especially with children.
The wallpaper colors and floral pattern also reminds me of one of the fabrics I used while putting together the nursery when I was expecting. We didn't know if it was a boy or girl until I was 34 weeks pregnant. So I was using a mixture of neutral colors and a mixture of patterns that included checks, floral (That wasn't overly girly) and some solid colors as well. I made curtains, a dust ruffle for the crib, a quilt, padded bumpers and a beadboard, cushions for the rocking chair, a diaper caddy and things to help organize the changing table. All of which would work for either a boy or girl. At 34 weeks we were finally told it was a girl. Because I had been put on modified bed rest at 28weeks I had a lot of time on my hands in between my twice weekly checks to monitor baby and me after I developed pre-eclampsia. I had an amazing high risk OB that worked well with my endocrinologist to keep my blood sugar level in the normal range. She was born perfectly healthy after a long labor and an emergency C-section after her heart rate dropped to scary levels.
Knowing the dress has to be “paintable” has me on the edge of my seat. 👀
Thank you for all the wonderful videos you put out. If anyone has the winter blues like me, just remember there are only 286 days until Halloween 🎃🦇🧡
ROTFLMAO! "Aggressively Beige!" 🤣👍
YOUR HAIR looks SO GOOD during the intro.
It is giving Steve Martin as Inspector Clouseau and his urban camouflaged from the Pink Panther movie. I love it.
I wanted to comment the same! :DD that scene is gold
Dear Ms. Maksy,
Once again, a lovely charming, only Rachel Maksy video. Thank you...
...About the aches and pains, and things in your body that seem to be crapping out entirely, when you hit your 30's (for me it was my late 20's because I'd overused some of my small person bits), I can offer you some hope. That all settles down again by the time you're in your 40's. Your body sort of adjusts to its new reality and chills again. There are parts of me that felt stronger than they ever had when I was in my 50's. I'm 61 and still feeling good. I dance, run when I feel like it, have no trouble bending - that sort of thing. So, try not to lament too much. Your body is not going to hell in a hand basket. It is only moving into a new phase - a different kind of growing phase.
You’ve offered me some hope also because everything seems to hurt these days 😭
It was ridiculous a train wreck I couldn't stop watching and you pulled it off to be literally a wallpaper flower. I just don't get your mind but you are unique and lovely to watch.
Dress camouflaged into bedding, relatable. As a teenager in the 90’s…I was in marching band, our color-guard costumes were Dorothy dresses. My bedroom was themed Wizard of Oz, my bedding was gingham, I couldn’t find my costume for a good half hour because it was laying on my bed. We still laugh about that. It just meant I was a unique and cool kid.
i was convinced the back brace was a lil medieval style corset belt 😂 brb putting my back brace over my lotr costumes and seeing if it works
The beige nightmare photo from Brooklyn Nine Nine killed me 😭
Grandma's couch/drapes/area rug print is absolutely my favorite. This is incredible!!
I always love wallflower representation
The "I'm In My 30's (Body Disintegrating)" jingle is great! Full version when?
Only you can make a dress inspired by wallpaper and make it look absolutely beautiful!!! You did an amazing job.
dont know if you're still struggling with posture/back problems, but i've found that using a boned corset works Really well as a casual back brace that's still pretty/aesthetic. especially the shorter ones that end just before your hips. It really helps remind you to sit upright and keep from curling your back without inhibiting movement.
"Hello I'm in My 30's Now" is gonna be my vocal-stim for WEEKS to come, I can just feel it
Tell me why she snatched that wig off and STILL looked so fucking cute!!! Im dying!!! Also gurl, you need to oil that poor machine, just like the tin man, its screaming for some 😂. Also also, the dress is giving me Sherlock Holmes wallpaper camo, mentally unstable fashion at its peak *chefs kiss* I love it
LOL I love it! When you were describing the project I immediately went to the Robert Downey, Jr. Sherlock movie. At the end where he's hiding "in" the wall. This was fun, sweetie and very creative. Take care of that back. Got an early start on ruining mine lifting feed sacks and bails of hay. Not to mention 20 years later when I had a giant baby! LOL Be kind to yourself because I need my dose of Rachel zaniness as often as you can give it!
Rachel, my husband said your first outfit looks like you're the child of Prince Eric and Ariel- which, goals!🥰
Also, nicely done on the dress! Always impressed by your painting skills 🖌
In the late 1960s, my mom made a slipcover for the living room couch in a blue/green and white floral print, and she had leftover fabric, which I made into a sleeveless dress almost exactly that pattern. I disappeared into the couch whenever I wore it, but man i loved that dress.
Did not have a Rachel Maksy doing Jenna Marbles impression on my 2024 bingo card BUT I WISH I HAD BC I NEEDED THIS
The dress is the cutest! I like the style (I'm quite fond of 60's easy to sew fashion). and the painting make it look so unique. It's a real joy to me every time you show your painting talent. I'm happy for you and also a bit jealous becase I think "maaan, I wish I could do that".
I love it when you bring various art mediums together. Sewing, drawing, painting. Oh what fun chaos can you create today! Thanks for sharing your inspiration :)
The answer to the “when the latest Jane Austen novel came out…” is a definite and resounding YES. Heck yes. That is exactly what they did. No one can convince me otherwise.
blending in with the wall gives me big Somebody That I Used to Know music video vibes and I'm here for it. Can't wait!
The snozberry wallpaper bit and the trololo guy on your dress had me busting up. I love your humor
"this project has no purpose, but i'm having a good time" GIRL THAT IS THE PURPOSE!!!! ENJOY YASELF!
This had big Jenna Marbles energy and also Micarah Tewers energy. She literally pulled a Scarlett O'Hara and made a dress out of her own curtains so she could blend in with them.
I love it!
An incredible idea, and the dress is legit beautiful! Also very here for the new Maksy series (Makseries?): "turning myself into items of home decor".
Not you absolutely rocking the back brace as an ✨accessory✨
Rachel talking about the wallpaper changing colors just gave me "THE DRESS" flashbacks.
You know people were quoting Austen. They definitely were. Love this.
I like the dress design, it reminded me of a dress I had when I was younger. I really LOVED your 60s style commercial, too and the 60/70's bubbly writing they used to use also!
