    Honestly, mad respect to the devs for willing to commit to the co-op mode and going as far as to rebuild massive parts of the game to get it working again. I know plenty of indie games that weren't made with co-op from the ground up that understandably weren't willing to essentially rebuild the game again to implement co-op without incentive.

    For anyone reading this, it is well worth getting. I feel it has always been a bit overlooked considering its quality and how fun it is to play. It really is a gem.

    I put nearly 200 hours into this game with one full play through and that was before the expansions! It is absolutely worth the asking price.

    I purchased this after your first video. A lot of fun, i return to RiftBreaker from time to time.
    Glad it keeps growing.
    With that said, I'd like to see a bit of shakeup with the formula.

      Yeah my friend and I are waiting for coop. Ive played through it before but hes waiting to even try it. I imagine many others are awaiting coop to pull the trigger too.
      If EXOR launches a stable coop with a sale big enough to send wishlist emails and advertises the heck out of “NOW WITH MULTIPLAYER” they will likely have a massive success on their hands.

      Same here however I don't think they would cost of reprint with updates and dlc cost money. Or perhaps they just don't want you to have a complete game some company are like that. For example bandai Namco it's pretty popular when it comes to Naruto game's and dragon ball game's. They would release them and later add characters or maps doesn't seem like a big deal however to me yea. Now imagine re-release the same game with no updates and no add on characters but a new version for the ps5 because it was already released for the ps4. But why in heck would they not add the characters in the damn disc anyway. It's simple it's greed and plus they like to charge the fans twice if anything would happen to there account. Why add them in in the disc when you can charge your fans twice if they would ever make another account. Talk about evil greed other gaming companies do this as well. Now I can understand if the game is online only like final fantasy 14 or free to play games etc. But for a single player game I don't get it? I tell ya you these company's want to make money and they would go as far as to charge you for a base game $70 and later on add dlc or whatever why? Like did you see the new dragon ball z game that's going to come out did you see the character list it feels like most of it is filled with gokus and vegetas transformation that fiiled the spot. Greedy as heck and what's worse the fans doesn't question it enough. Because they believe or think it's not really a big deal however it is. It really doesn't matter now sooner or later those company's will run out of ideas and milking there fans over and over again. Like look at Ubisoft i heard stories they not making alot and there losing money fast. Plus if these company's add woke agendas then chances are the ship will sink even faster in do time. You know the saying go's Rome wasn't built in a day same applies to the opposite Rome wasn't destroyed overnight it took time to get there.

    Hey, Zade I've watched many of your videos for years. tnx for the great work. Food for thought. I'm thinking of something I call the dub phenomenon. With strategy games, even the best ones - is it just me or does most of them have really tough -> tough-ish starts to medium -> easy or even straight-up cake-walk mid-game -> late game. I've played tens of thousands of hours of strategy games in the last 20 years. I can't shake the feeling. maybe it's just me. or perhaps it just can't be done somehow. Maybe it is the increase of loose threads and a network of different builds that drives an exponential increase of outcomes that can not really be balanced and therefore the mid-late game is kinda nerfed. I don't know.

    • @Paisa231
      @Paisa231 3 месяца назад +1

      Its a game balance thing, are they gonna make the game hard to master from the start or make what we usual get. A slow curve, where you in the end always master it, to get most consumers. Its different between a Hearts of Iron and Age of Empires, with how many players they achieve. As the developer needs to consider, that a player even if experienced with RTS. They too are new player to THIS game, and will learn the mechanics as they play. And making it to hard in the beginning, so it stays challenging throughout the game, and at the same time consider all the gamers playing. And the different playstyles they need to keep it interesting.
      So in the end of the RTS history, we get most games that in the end you know it so well, that you develop a strat to beat the game 90% of the time.
      My thoughts on this, is the arrival of AI in games. An AI, that somehow will adapt with each individual players level as they progress. But its a tough balance still, as most players want to WIN, not get a guaranteed loss in the end.. As we see with Chess AI, easily beating even the most experienced players. As for an analogy, I never finished Shadow of War, because its a mission where I lost to many times. That I still havent progressed, sure due to my poor skills but I dropped the game.. I go back to it, now or then and I could offcourse start a fresh game. But Im persistent, and guess it will be an amasing feeling if I ever do manage to do that mission :P

    • @guamson8946
      @guamson8946 3 месяца назад

      @@Paisa231 AI's unfortunately tend to min-max and develop annoying cheese strats that are more irritating than fun to fight against if given enough time. Real trick is trying to find the "Sweet Spot" where the AI is actually fun to fight against and feels more like a human opponent instead of some inhumanly efficient micro-managing machine.

    • @Paisa231
      @Paisa231 3 месяца назад

      @@guamson8946 What Im talking about is an AI that solves exactly this, call it next gen AI. I think its doable if the right team get the funds to do this. But I dont see it happen in a RTS, as this must be a true AAA budget game. Where the Publisher allows a developer to work on this, where it may not succeed. I dont see any RTS developer have the leverage or support to do this. The hardware must also take a step, so maybe it will begin when dedicated AI cores get into mid tier CPUs and/or GPUs.
      Just me theory crafting, with my expertise within Data Mining.

    • @minidude112
      @minidude112 3 месяца назад

      @@guamson8946 exactly. You could say games like elden ring or total warhammer 2 did this perfectly. Well close to perfection enough relative to others atleast. It needs to feel like you have a fair chance and can beat even the toughest challenges by skill

    • @minidude112
      @minidude112 3 месяца назад +1

      @@Paisa231 You are definately touching something here. Design wise this could actually be a paradox too. Because you would want to be rewarded for your work. If playing rift on the" hardest difficulty" like I usually do, except tuning up other settings besides the main one - you get an absolutely brutal start which will actually destroy you or atleast have the chance to. And that is nice. Overcoming that. Just brutal enough to feel like it is an archievement. Not so much so to break you and feel cheesed, but just enough. After x time in-game it seems like the risk of defeat for the player will increase exponentally if the company keeps on hammering you with difficulty. A loss mid or late game is risky because the margins is super tiny. It does not require too much for the player to feel cheated. The loss would need to feel super fair after so much time and energy and practice went into your game right. From a design point you just can not win
