And Anima is literally the Beerus of FFX, the damn god of destruction🤣

I listened to the original a few minutes ago, and wow, I wish I heard it many years ago because I love super melodic music like this. Your cover retains the melodies that made the original so great while adding emotion and depth, especially because of the dissonance and spacious moods you can create with the piano. Even though you played random stuff for the duration of the song, it doesn't give me that impression. It actually sounds like you intentionally varied the octaves and rhythms to create contrast. Playing in higher octaves after a rich segment of the song sounds so satisfying and uplifting. I like the overall tempo of your cover, but I think you could have added contrast in that area, and it seemed like you almost did at 2:15. The ending is simple; however, the original song has a cutoff (and I assume it loops in the game), so I guess you didn't want to risk creating a different mood. I think this is my favorite cover from you, and now I have a new song and soundtrack to listen to :)

This is a really fun piece to play, so I did try to play it quite dynamically, even though the arrangement is mostly thrown together. The left hand just rolls around wherever it wants, and stays at a few points and does other stuff. Though the specific keys vary a bit every time I play, the basic mood and style stays mostly the same, especially during certain parts. Even when I improv entirely, I tend to vary the octaves and styles I play in, just to keep things interesting :D I did keep the tempo more or less the same for most of the piece indeed. I probably could've varied it more, yeah. I only did so at the end, to slow things down a bit, as you noted. I wanted to end this piece while it was still going strong. That way, even if it doesn't loop, it kinda leaves a desire for more, I think! I'm really glad you liked this cover! Thank you for the long and well thought out review :DDD

@@l2abbit You're never too old! If you're not sure where to start, start with the very simplest stuff. Also, you could look up some videos on how best to practice, so that you're not just playing. That said, just playing helps too, if you do it for hours each day, with songs that you love :)

Awesome job! I’m learning this right now. It’s quite difficult for me. You’re great. :) Only problem with the transcription so far is that the RH base notes on 25, 26, and 27 should be E, not C. Been playing it on C and that is just a stretch not possible for a lot of people, so hopefully that gets fixed.

Honestly, this is my favorite battle theme of all time! It's so beautifully arranged, and you played it with a lot of passion! On top of that, it seems a challenging piece to play. By the way, you mentioned that you missed one note 4 times in a row, right? When I first read this, it came as a surprise to me, because even after listening to it several times, I wasn't able to spot the wrong note! But now I know the answer. You should have played a G instead of an F#! (0:54-0:56)It's a really small difference, but in my opinion, it’s still pleasant to hear! :)

Oof this makes so many people, including myself, so so happy! Definitely gunna learn this!!! So the mistake... I can't catch it. In the melody? or some of those arpeggios? Is the issue included in the sheet music? Cause if I can't hear it I'm guessing it doesn't matter all that much to the average player :)

The mistake is a secret, hehhe. But there's a note I keep hitting at one point that's off key. It's fixed in the synthesa video I posted though, so it's not a problem. Thanks a lot for your comment!
