Don't feel bad LT. I had the same experience during my orientation flight in the F-16 while stationed at Torrejon Spain. We did a max climb take off and were the lead ship for a flight of four up to the bomb range. Our left wing was our Wing CC. We dropped bombs and shot 20 MM rounds at several targets. When the 20 MM goes off it shakes the plane pretty violently. I didn't spew until we were on our way back to the base. Pulled 7.5 + Gz it was awesome. Kept my lights the whole time. AIM HIGH AF. I flew with an RAAF pilot in a RedBull racing plane, the same insane one they use in their races you’ve probably seen before. Doing aerial acrobatics thousands of feet above the coast of NSW on a perfectly clear early summer day is something I’ll never forget. Pulled 8Gs at our maximum and I handled it extremely well, never felt lightheaded or disoriented once. The negative 4 Gs we pulled did not feel nice though
Using a jet typically involves the following steps: 1. Pre-flight checks: Ensure the jet is in proper working condition by checking fuel levels, engine status, and any other necessary systems. 2. Boarding: Enter the jet and stow any luggage in designated areas. Take your seat and fasten your seatbelt. 3. Starting the engines: Follow the specific procedures outlined in the jet's manual or by a qualified pilot. This usually involves turning on various systems and starting the engines. 4. Taxiing: Once the engines are running, the jet can be taxied to the runway under its own power. 5. Takeoff: Follow the instructions of air traffic control (ATC) for clearance to take off. Increase throttle to accelerate down the runway and lift off into the air. 6. In-flight procedures: Once airborne, follow the planned flight path and altitude. Monitor instruments, communicate with ATC, and navigate as required. 7. Landing: As you approach your destination, follow ATC instructions for landing clearance. Descend and align the jet with the runway, reduce speed, and touch down smoothly. 8. Post-flight: Shut down the engines, disembark from the jet, and secure any belongings. Remember, operating a jet requires proper training and certification. Always adhere to safety protocols and regulations.
Well howdy Lt. Sam! Way back in 1979 when I was in the Navy, I got to experience the ultimate rush of flying in the backseat of a T-38. A beautiful little white one that was the base Commander's personal aircraft. Its primary mission was photo chaseplane where I was stationed at the Naval Weapons Center, in China Lake, California. Twice a month, the Commander would authorize a ride-along for any sailor on the base who wanted to sign up. So of course, I signed up. The entire experience was absolutely awesome! From when I first climbed aboard that old C-47 to go to Lemoore Naval Air Station for orientation and training, until the time we landed safely back home after the mission, it has yet to be topped by any other experience I've ever had in my 64 years so far. I was fortunate enough to fly on an actual photo-chase mission. The pilot's mission that day was to follow and video an F-14 Tomcat as it intercepted and shot down a remotely-controlled F-86 Sabre. So needless to say, I got the full treatment! I got to experience air combat maneuvering at its most extreme. Not at all what I was expecting for a first flight! Even though I felt like I'd been beaten up by a bar full of bikers when it was all over, I wouldn't trade it for anything in the world! Thank you for your service, and for putting this video out for others to enjoy. Lone Wolf Bill.
I had the same ride with the Nuclear Safety officer when I was in the USAF. We were the target for F4s. An11 hour mission from McChord AFB to Canada landing and then back. I have great shots taken flying upside down over the Hoover damn. No, I didn’t!
i think those training jets are actually pretty awesome. I like how they are so small, best cockpit. Amazing the view must be. awesome. they have one here at the air force museum in Riverside, California
Awesome video, love the editing! You look so young🙈😍 and seem soo talented and it's amazing that you get to do something you honestly enjoy and have a video like this to memorize a great experience in your life. Keep up the good work & God Bless You💖
Congrats on being able to do this. For someone who gets motion sickness you did great. No way could I have done it. I enlisted in the USAF in 2001 but unbeknownst to me I had to get a medical discharge due to an illness that I didn’t know that I had and found out in the past few years I had way more than that going on. My dad served in the USAF and retired as a major. You got to do what many people only get to dream of!
My dad was a marine aviator who did a transfer with the Air Force, where he was a trainer on the t6s. So if I was to get sent to Vance Afb for flight training, I would have the chance of flying the same one my dad flew
This is so awesome. I’m a SrA in the airforce and mechanic on the A10. I wish there were still 2 seats so I could do an incentive flight! This is amazing! So bada$$
What an incredible opportunity! Very well filmed and produced too! I love the direction and flexibility you have as a PAO. My wife was USAF PA and I always told her I would divorce her if she ever got a buddy ride before I did. Sadly neither one of us got one.
Loved this video for two reasons. One I flew C-130's out of Langley, then later I was a T-38 flight instructor. it brought together two amazing times in my life. I loved both airplanes. I flew around the world in one and was fortunate to be a T-38 flight instructor for the first class of female pilots in the other. Loved it.
Cool shooting. I wish I had the capability in my flight time in the T-37. That was 1985 at Williams. What a great time when I got the stick from my instructor and got to put it thru some paces. The only thing that rivaled that as aerobatic flying in an open cockpit Pitts biplane. Thanks for showing us that Talon.
I wanted to be a fighter pilot but I went in the Marines special operations for 12 years and 3 tours in Afghanistan. They have saved our ass more than once on fire missions...
As a former U.S. Air Force and FAA Air Traffic Controller...I am here to tell you that our Navy and Air Force Military pilots are the very best in the world. They are the cream of the crop. Our U.S.military pilots are super smart, quick decisive thinkers and they fear nothing. They are results orientated and know how to get the job done right when called upon. I am proud of our pilots and all America should be to. GOD Bless America!!!
While at Field Training (Lackland AFB 1995), seven of us out of 425 cadets qualified (based on our perfect PFT scores) to ride in one of these training jets. What in incredible experience. All seven of us blacked out and we all puked. I've still got a picture of myself and the pilot standing next to the jet that we'd just ridden and my face was as white as the barf-bag that they had us use. Great memories!
I would suggest that the pilot(s) was demonstrating ego rather than giving you guys a decent experience. Doing that to a stude on a first flight can make or break them.
@@HerbertTowers I should have added that we did ask the pilots ahead of time to black us out and see how many G's it took to knock us out. Was an incredible experience except the feeling sick afterwards. :)
@@TheVFRMike Those pilots were still irresponsible to do that. It's not good for the pax, and you can't be sure how a person will react when 'waking up' probably a tad confused. They will have just been briefed about the bang seat and could perhaps, in a little panic attack, exit rather earlier than desired.
Great video, Sam! I love that you're not the least bit worried about the airsickness. Pulling those kind of G's isn't natural, nor is wearing all that gear. I heartens me to see nothing but positive comments about your experience. Any desire to go to UPT? Regardless, thanks again for sharing a little bit of the USAF with us.

i think those training jets are actually pretty awesome. I like how they are so small, best cockpit. Amazing the view must be. awesome. they have one here at the air force museum in Riverside, California
Man the air force is so dope
The editing in your videos is so clean! For sure Peter McKinnon is somewhere proud!! Thanks for the motivation!
Awesome and honest vid. So cool to hear Swayne Martin's voice at the end. No wonder the video quality was so good!
Rob 🧐
"MIG 28'S knowone's been this close before!'"
"Negative Maverick the pattern is full...."
Well, the "Mig 28" were actually F-5 Tigers, but close enough :D
There never exist a MIG 28...the numbers are always uneven like 21, 23, 25, 27 and MIG 29.
Lean ViperX you need to watch the movie again... T-38s also featured as Mig-28s
@@djviperx the f5e tiger ii was built from the t38 the only difference is the f5 is armed
The production quality on this is amazing. How do you only have 2k subs?
Saw that aircraft flying out of nn a month ago. Figured it was Flight doing intercepts. You guys were hauling ass outta there ! Love jet noise!
The quality of your videos is truly amazing and you’re so professional too
Awesome stuff! I hear from the OTS selection board his Friday hopefully. Hope to be flying one of these very soon
Sam Stanfield Best of luck!
It's a year later. How did it go?
I'm 15 and I'm also a big fan of the T-38,F-35 ll and the incredible F-15 Eagle
Looks like you were having a panic attack, couldn’t fault you if you did, had to be kind of claustrophobic once that canopy closed
The pilot that flies the A-10 Warthog has the best job ever. In my opinion.
Yea that's very true
Imagine your dad flying a jet and 30 years later your probably flying the same exact one
My dad was a marine aviator who did a transfer with the Air Force, where he was a trainer on the t6s. So if I was to get sent to Vance Afb for flight training, I would have the chance of flying the same one my dad flew
@@tank_brokowski210 what are you now into ...have you joined the air force?
Thank you Sir for your service ... And from a Former MARINE VIETNAM VET. YOU ARE THE BEST AT WHAT YOU DO. I SALUTE YOU ALL.
I love the editing this is so nice and proper. You too amazing haha
Two Shea Films Haha that’s funny. It’s definitely a great career field!
Loved it.
the guy: T-38 dogfight the f-22
f-22:is that a joke 🤨
I was stationed at Langley from 76-80 and was a crew Chief on an F-15, tail number 4125. F-15, the best fighter ever!
HOW is this guy on 4.3 k? This is no joke world quality video!
You are just so lucky to have a go in one of those. It's my ultimate dream to have a go in one of those.
I think I'll just admire air force jets and their pilots from a distance. Nooooo thank you to going up in one.
What flight at Willy?
Well, never forget, when arriving in the mission area, the airforce checks in and the army spreads out!😆
Hmm 🤔
Langley AFB....did 5 years there. I don't miss the humidity, mosquitoes, or snakes.
It must be an awesome experience, cheers from Lima Peru 🇵🇪 🤙🏻
Josh Burdge! Ha! He was a couple classes ahead of me in T-38s. Small world.
Literally the best job in the world.
I wanted to be a fighter pilot but I went in the Marines special operations for 12 years and 3 tours in Afghanistan. They have saved our ass more than once on fire missions...
Hmm 🤔
Top quality video on camera work, editing, narration, personality!
This is awesome content! Your music choice definitely brings a whole new level to this experience. Nice work!!
A.L. Nash thanks!
I live near Beale. It's always a treat to see and hear the T-38's screaming by overhead. I just wish they still ran the SR-71 out of here.
Hmm 🤔
I could never be a fighter jet pilot. I have horrible motion sickness. Good on you for doing it for the rest of us!
Excellent video, well presented and a class act. Thank you for your service and the time you took to share it with us.
what an experience just watching it
just imaging how awesome it would be in flying there
mind blowing man
While at Field Training (Lackland AFB 1995), seven of us out of 425 cadets qualified (based on our perfect PFT scores) to ride in one of these training jets.
But you felt great after the puking?
@@rejuvinatez347 After a couple of hours all was good and what an incredible experience.
As a young kid I get sick flying in my grandpa's cessna!! Can't imagine a plane like this
Me in Quarantine looking in yt :
YT : wanna see some jets?
Me : sure
BEST fighter video I've seen out there. You crushed this!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Probably no UPT for me haha. I enjoy what i do now too much!

I was stationed at Langley from '85 to '93. Fly, Fight, and WIN!
The T-38 looks wicked in black
That's just surreal. Don't think I ever could, but looks goddamn amazing.
Its every fighter pilots mission to make his pax puke lol
Its bragging rights and a camp fire story amongst them😂
I like how he played hum dirty right before landing 😭😄
