- Riverdance performs at the 5,000 capacity Mercedes Benz Arena in Shanghai for the 11.11 Countdown Gala alongside a host of stars including Pharrell Williams and Jessie J. The Gala counts down the final hours before the 11.11 (also known as Singles Day) online shopping holiday in China
I can only imagine the immeasurable amount of pleasure Riverdance has brought to the Chinese people during this performance. Riverdance has been a global phenomenon serving a diplomatic role connecting different cultures in the common appreciation of art form in dancing.
Thanks SO much for posting -- have not ever seen a Riverdance performance that did not leave me breathless!

jennacablair I would totally see a Riverdance show with either James Greenan or Jason O Neil as the lead male dancer and Amy Mae Dolan as the female lead dancer.
I would also be fine with seeing James Greenan and Emma Warren as the lead dancers.
I could see Bobby Hodges being a male lead dancer with a Riverdance show.
No one will ever top Jene and michael but it is wonderful to see over the years those using their original choreography but no one in my eyes can ever beat that original performance all those years ago of the original stage version I watched as a child growing up

Curious and careless that in the opening credits Amy-Mae Dolan is not credited as a principal dancer but Flatley and Jean Butler are.

thats how china edits pieces together if you think they are crazy check out some korean tv shows the camera work is something else

Riverdance is fine, but it is the same as always. Nothing has changed since Michael Flatley invented it, exept the dancers.

I suggest that you watch the video of the making of Riverdance, for the Eurovision song contest in 1994 hosted by Ireland.
I mean.. that's kinda what every show does? Phantom of the Opera has barely changed from its first year in the West End. Unless it's a revival or a different production, they don't tend to change at all.
