Simrad seems to be a little more complicated to use as a new user. Lots of options to play with say vs garmin. I personally am a garmin user but considering swapping to simrad.
Thank you. We are glad you enjoyed it. You can record the sonar log and save it internally or to a memory card (recommended). To do so you need to access the Advanced menu option. Instructions on how to do so can be found on page 119 of the operation manual.A PDF version can be found here: ftp://software.simrad-yachting.com/documents/GO-XSE_OM_EN_988-11105-003_w.pdf
Great review sir , it gives me more knowledge about go series c..sir can you tell me please that this go series chartplotter will work in philippine waters
Great video! Can you put bottom lock on full screen? Or just split screen? Also silly question, let's say I am only drifting or going less than 2mph, how far back from my boat is what I see on the screen?
Thanks. Glad you enjoyed the video. You can put bottom lock on full screen sonar but when you select the bottom lock feature it will automatically split the sonar screen to show the flattened/zoomed in imagery on the left and regular imagery on the right. If you want to make the bottom locked imagery bigger you can hit the +/- button at the bottom of the screen. The + will make the imagery larger. Watch for an upcoming video explaining how to interpret your sounder screen.
TVG - Time Variable Gain TVG reduces sensitivity at the surface to remove strong clutter from wakes (range 0 - 3). It removes surface clutter the higher it is turned up the less surface clutter you encounter from wave and wake action.
I’ve had a go7 for a view years. Last Sunday it updated it self on the sea & I’ve lost all my markers and tracks. Would you know how to get my data back any help would be helpful thanks
It it really unusual that it updated itself like that. I would call Navico tech support while you are in front of the display and maybe they can help recover your data. I am told that it usually is stored in the machine's internal memory and is not full deleted until directed to do so.
On the traditional sounder I have got good readings up to 800-1200 feet in salt water (depending on water conditions)with the included transom transducer. With DownScan from my experience, you can expect decent readings down to about 80 feet in saltwater
Click on the echo screen, then click menu, then more options, then scroll to the Fish ID tab. click on it and look w=down to the bottom of the menu. You will see Fish ID Beeps at the bottom. Click on it to turn off.
You will have to find an ac to 12volt converter or a small 12v battery (like the kind found as back up batteries for home alarms) to power it off the boat. Simrad does not offer a conversion at this time. Always make sure you have an inline fuse to protect the display.
Charter captains have told me that the Fish Reveal and side scan have been game changers for them. How has it changed the way you fish?
Does side scan have Fish Reveal feature? I didn't see that option on demo, just on the downscan icon.
Thanks for timely response. I will watch vid again and post more questions.
Glad you liked the video. If you have more question, please comment here or go to our website and email us from there. www.AquaLifestyle.net

how do you switch to gain bottom-depth cartography? also, you can't see fish arches in simulation mode, correct?
Very nice overview and good presentation, excellent! Quick question: does the GO series also support some kind of live sonar chart recording?

Excellent,Thank you!
Glad you enjoyed the video.

Great review. I wish you would do better on the mic you use. very low volume.
Glad you liked the video. We've updated our microphones.
Explain the items, like what is Tvg?
TVG - Time Variable Gain
TVG reduces sensitivity at the surface to remove strong clutter from wakes (range 0 - 3). It removes surface clutter the higher it is turned up the less surface clutter you encounter from wave and wake action.
Do you plan to do the same series for the new NSX?
Yes we do. We are working on it now and the series should be out soon so stay tuned.

great video how deep will it still work good ?
On the traditional sounder I have got good readings up to 800-1200 feet in salt water (depending on water conditions)with the included transom transducer. With DownScan from my experience, you can expect decent readings down to about 80 feet in saltwater
How do I turn the fish beeps on/off? Thanks
Click on the echo screen, then click menu, then more options, then scroll to the Fish ID tab. click on it and look w=down to the bottom of the menu. You will see Fish ID Beeps at the bottom. Click on it to turn off.
Does this unit NOT support Active Imaging ??
I believe it does not. The Lowrance FS does, and has many of the same features as the Go series. You might want to check out our video on that unit.
How do you power the unit when it's not on the boat.
You will have to find an ac to 12volt converter or a small 12v battery (like the kind found as back up batteries for home alarms) to power it off the boat. Simrad does not offer a conversion at this time. Always make sure you have an inline fuse to protect the display.
Great video, but VERY difficult to understand. Needs to speak into the microphone all the time.
Noted!
I'm only 40 and this video makes me feel like I need hearing aids.
Sorry you had difficulties. We have invested in a new microphone.
Im 45 no problem hearing it, you may need hearing aids. Lol
Good video but we can’t hear you.
