  • I'm in the process of designing a variety of 1/24 scale RC components including these American Racing Torq Thrust style wheels. Since I've received a lot of interest from viewers wanting to see more of the design process, I'm going to be showcasing some of the design work in videos such as this one.
Using Autodesk Fusion 360, I show the complete design process. Although I must admit this ins't the cleanest workflow, hopefully it gives you some ideas and inspiration.

Seeing you work with Autodesk Fusion 360 makes me fired up to try and do the same in Solidworks. Compared to what I read about Autodesk, Solidworks isn't free. Luckily the whole class allowed to use the key from college, and I happily accepted it. Now I'm using it to create and print RC parts like you do, with the help of schools 3d-printers. Teachers are excited to see what I came up with each time I ask if I can use them. My Big Bear project isn't coming along fine btw. Sadly, it's too cold outside to use spray lacquer, and doing it inside ain't the best idea either. And currently, I'm broke, so I sadly cannot buy any lights. Nonetheless, that gives me time to refine and make new designs, while doing a more thorough search for lights and batteries. Currently, I am designing a supercharged Ford 385 stroker V8, which will hide the steering servo. Thanks for making this video, it is really inspiring and helpful, I dearly hope you will make more of them despite them probably not being everyone's cup of tea. But most of all, upload and make the video's that you like to make. ;)

Awesome stuff! I really like making these kind of videos as I enjoy the modeling as much as the building and driving. I simply thought there wan't much interest in this kind of video. I will definitely be making some more videos like this.

OK you have my attention man! As someone who has worked in the wheel and tire industry for a long time (still doing it!) I have a few requests for rim builds.
    -Compomotive TH1581 or 1380
    -Compomotive CP (aka "P" windows!!!)
    -Compomotive STR1580 & STR1512
    -Ion 133, 135 or 170
    -Fast FC04, FC06, FC07
-Enkei NT03+M or the "RR" variant
    -Konig Hypergram
    -Fifteen52 Turbomac, R43, Tarmac 348, and Mullet
ALSO PLEASE MAKE YOUR OWN TURBO FANS!!!!!!!
Honestly I could make you a list as long as my arm. If you want more suggestions or if you need any manufacturer direct images I can help you out dude!
One last thing, put a set of "Mullets" on that Firebird it would look deadly.

You don't have to extrude from the same plane that the sketch is on. You can offset the start of the extrude to wherever you want instead of projecting to a new plane and extruding from there.

Those wheels should fit on that Pontiac firebird what do you think

  • @Patrick94GSR
    @Patrick94GSR 6 лет назад

Did you base this off of a 16" or 17" wheel? I ask because I saw the 17.00 diameter of the outer circle near the beginning, and the outer rim lip of a wheel is always 1 inch larger diameter than the actual wheel size. So a wheel with a 17" outer lip diameter would actually be a 16" wheel, while a 17" wheel would have an 18" overall outer diameter.

There are tons of fusion 360 tutorials over RUclips. No point of making another one. Pity you shift from very nice rc build channel towards side topic stuff. You shouldn't listen to the crowd mate. Do the stuff you like.
