One of America's greatest living novelists. His latest book is fantastic and is, like all his works, about the beautiful, glorious struggle that is life.
@@edkelly2575 Hearing that he has yet another novel coming out so soon after the wonderful The Ocean and the Stars makes me want to go back and just start reading all of his novels in order of publication, and just bathe in the glorious beauty of his prose and stories.
Would love to see Metaxas on Rogan. Such a smart, witty, funny, man of faith. I think it would be great to see you Eric, on one of the worlds biggest stages.
As a young child I had a sense of having had an existence before the present one in which I was living. I would even ask my mother about it. For instance, I remember one time when she was icing my birthday cake, I asked her how old I was and she told me I was three years old. And then I asked her, "But what about before?" So the word "before" was the one I used when I talked about my memory of a time before, which wasn't very often. Gradually this experience faded away while I was still quite young.
My advice to Eric is if I’m committing a huge fashion faux pas like wearing brown shoes with a black jacket and grey trousers, I’m not going to be so picky with a fine guest like Mark.
Having read most of Mr Helprins work, these talks are a wonderful gift to those of us that enjoy these stories
I'm not sure why, but tears rolled out of my eyes throughout this conversation.
