Another interesting episode.Thank you for your tips on organising your needles. I too have problems with them vanishing! I'm starting to round them up, put them in a basket and then sort them into sizes and boxes. Good idea to do this more regularly. Like you, I find interchangeable needles come apart and rarely use them - only when all the fixed needles are engaged or partying somewhere else! For socks, I like a small circular and/or dpns. Can't get on with magic loop for socks - even though I've tried. Nice to know there's more than one way of knitting perfect socks! Yours are beautiful.❤

I have a Thread and Maple Leather Binder for my Chiaogoo interchangeable needles. I keep my fixed ChiaGoo needles in the plastic sleeve they came in and put those in a zippered project bag. I have some Bamboo circulars and straight needles that I keep in zippered cases. Love the yarn colors! Happy Knitting 🧶

I have a 4 cloth drawer rollie cart for my knitting/crochet supplies. I have my needles by size in those 3 ring binder pencil bags. I have written the size on the front of each bag. I have a basket that collects all my needles and notions as I finish with them. Then when the basket is full or I feel like organizing, I sort and put away all the items. Usually I get into a frenzy of finishing and don't want to stop to put things away which leaves a heaping pile to deal with. When you have to go hunting for needles, you know its time to put things back. Here it to lots of knitting in May! xx

Yes! Putting them away when they get unmanageable is the move. A rolling cart would not work for me at all because I have multiple levels.

I made vinyl envelopes with snap closures for my cable needles, which I use almost exclusively. I put a piece of card stock in each one indicating size. I keep them in a small box arranged by size. So far so good.

Many yrs ago, a bought a bag strictly for socks, it has 2 good size pockets & one on each side, those hold dpn on one side, pens on the other side, the larger pockets hold needles in one & gauges in the other . It holds 2 skiens nicely, its strictly for socks, love it, i only change yarn, when im ready for a newg pair. I onlu use ChiaoGoo, fixed and regular. Magic Loop on 1.5. I learned on 9" circs, later taught myself Magic Loop, never looked back. My other needles are in their sleeves , size small to large with loop thru the hole on top, in a divided basket. So far its ok.

I organize my needles in an plastic accordion file just like you. I do not have as many as you do; however, I have found I only use the interchangeables only in an emergency. I have a problem with them coming apart as well. I have found I do like the HiyaHiya sharp DPNs though...especially for patterns with tedious stitches.

I just love your moon garden mini skein set. Is it possible to get that same set on full sized skeins or even 50gm skeins?

SHARON! I found another thing that you and I have in common. I really can’t stand interchangeable needles. I have one exception. I have the Chiaogoo Forte (first version) and they are the only needles I’ve ever owned that do not come unscrewed. I love the feel of the African Blackwood needles. I also bought the Chiaogoo Forte 2.0 needles when they came out this year, thinking I would get the same results but alas, I did not. the 2.0 needles come unscrewed on me, too. I think I remember you saying that you don’t like the “snick, snick” sound that Chiaogoo needles make. Am I right? It does not bother me. I have a ton of the red lace fixed circulars in all the sizes. I’ve tried so many different ways of storing needles over the years. And I have to say my favorite of all time was a “worm binder” I bought at Bass Pro Shops a long time ago. It’s basicallly a fabric binder about the size of a lunchbox and inside are a bunch of Ziploc type bags and I would just put a piece of an index card with the size of the needle in each bag and put all of my needles in there. I stopped using my worm binder a few years ago for some reason and have searched in vain over the years for another thing that would work just as well, and you know what? In all these years I haven’t found it. I think I should go dig out my trusty worm binder and start using it again. I think it’s the only way I’ll ever be truly happy. Is it pretty? Nope. But it works. I wish someone in the crafting industry would just steal the idea from the fishing folks and make some in nicer fabrics. Sigh… Have a good week.

I really should try the Addi Clicks but they are SO expensive! I don't like the cords on the Chiagoos. They also have a bit of a drag for me that I dislike. (I like a slick needle). No wooden needles for me, metal all the way. I remember when knitters started using the worm binders! Store it in a cupboard so you don't have to look at it, 😂 All of my organizational stuff is behind closed doors.
