    Adding MCT oil can speed it up. If you can manage a workout while fasting, this will speed it up too.

    The quickest way there is to flush your digestive system (Epsom Salt) that way you deplete your system of glucose faster and then you can start water fasting.

      @@dayner989 You must not be familiar with Epsom salt flushes. It can be used for occasional constipation. However, in the manner one is trying to speed up the achievement of Ketosis, a light flush of Epsom salt (dissolved in warm water) can be of some assistance.
      Hence depleting the body of glucose and switching it to use Ketones. It's sort of like a cheat code. :)

    I’m totally late on this but is it possible to kick start ketosis on a long distance run while also starting a water fast the day before the run? I’m starting my fast as of tonight so I had a massive fast food cheat meal but looking to get back on my carnivore diet asap and I rather reach ketosis as quickly as possible to experience less transitional side effects. Any input is appreciated whether you have experience or you’re an expert on the matter!

    Exogenous ketones could help?
    I also wonder if the hacks such as exercise during fasting, ACV, Berberine, cinnamon, turmeric and a few other herbs refered to in keto tip blogs are founded in research?
    Have you any thoughts on metabolic flexibility being improved through cyclical keto?

    • @Physionic
      @Physionic  2 года назад +3

      A lot of stuff here for me to investigate, LV. If only I had more time, I could go at a faster pace.
      Have you watched my video on metabolic flexibility? Keto would certainly make one more metabolically flexible toward fat use, but what use that offers is limited, and cycling it seems a moot point.

      @synsynsy 2 года назад +4

      @@jacklabonte6839 i should delete my comment because i respect nick. My choice of words was poor.
      But here it goes.
      If you do more than 90 minutes of moderate to high intensity cardio workout (running, bike, swim, etc) you deplete liver glicogen and get into post-exercise ketosis. A small increse of ketone bodies in the blood. All you have to do after that is not eat. Body will enter full ketosis really fast. Way faster than waterfasting. (It takes time to deplete those liver stores and depens on the individual).
      This way is the fastest way.

    • @jacklabonte6839
      @jacklabonte6839 2 года назад +6

      @@synsynsy I take your point. It makes sense that exercise(cardio) would hasten the process of getting into a fasted state, although I would add that a good hard session of strength training would have a similar glycogen draining effect; although no everyone is into weights, and it likely has more broad appeal to just go for a walk/hike up a hill or mountain.
      Really appreciate your clarification.
