- Grian, Joel, and I all designed an escape room for the other two to attempt. Then Joel and I take a crack at escaping Grian's escape room.

Grian's room looping with slightly different details is signs of insanity.
The funniest piece about this comment to me is that my family tells me that the dictionary definition of insanity is testing the same exact thing over again and expecting different results.

So for their Escape Rooms- Impulse stuck with the technical aspects of Minecraft, Joel for goofy melodrama, and Grian for psychological horror. They were all so well done; absolutely amazing!
I like how they both call smallishbeans his actual name but they both just call Grian “Grian”
That's because Charles is such a long name, whereas Joel is nice and short.
it just feels weird hearing grian get called charles from an audience perspective. we're so use to people referring to smallishbeans as joel that it seems like nothing is out of the ordinary

The Architechs are basically Mumbo, Grian and Iskall in s6
Infinity rooms are in s6 and s9
Loops are things such as the time machine in s6 it was? Or s7
Poultry man was s6
The Barge is in s7, the G-train in s8
The hidden base in someone elses base was s7 I think.

As an escape room Game master, I recognize the frustration all of them had when watching eachother play the rooms they created.
That fishing rod move Joel did to hoist Impulse from the floor to the top was amazing.

I love the theme of Grian's room. The fact that there is a vague story line as well as the trick with the seemingly looping sequence was really fun
It says something when they're all the same length, but Joel and Grian give a detailed preview of theirs

It's so interesting to me that Grian's and Joel's rooms were both very *them*, whereas a lot of Impulse's room is SO geared towards *who will run it* right from the start.

I watched Grain's first, then Joel's where they made a reference to Grian's POV (Joel's room), and now I'm watching Impulse where they made a reference to Joel's POV (Impulse's room)! So I'm assuming they played Joel's escape room first, then moved on to Impulse's escape room (where Grian referenced Joel's room from the recurring theme of Jimmy compliments bit), and lastly did Grian's escape room, where Joel referenced Impulse's room with the "I'm the smart one" at the beginning.
I think they did Impulses room last though, because at one point Joel died in Impulses room and respawned in Grians.
I was gonna watch in upload order (G, J, I) but then I watched G’s and wanted to see his room immediately
they did impulse's last since joel spawned in grians during impulse's room, and with that it would make sense that they did joel's first since i'm pretty sure they used beds to set spawns in his, with would have overrid the bed from grian's dropper

The skull painting with Mumbo’s moustache is such a simple addition but it works so well 11:20

The first time that he use that is in the mumbo and grian upgrade each others bases with redstone and building respectively, and in grian's build is a mansion filled with a lot of paintings of mumbo's mustaches. Back then it was a joke but now it's use very effective decoration
Grian's escape room decided not to take a page out of Superliminal, but instead an entire chapter to give me existential horror.

The words echo in my brain, haunting my every step, my every thought, my every *breath.* Grian really created something horrifying, it almost makes him seem insane, the wordplay, the loop, in this video you, no WE entered the brain of Grian, full of thoughts about the great Mumbo Jumbo and jittery chaos, all of this was incredibly well made but there was one sentence that really made this go from a fun loop to a nightmare that only a lucid dreamer could create.

God, just typing them out hurts my fingers, like the letters are made of hot ash... Slides were fun once upon a time... The first time around but now the idea hurts. The barriers that blocked off the slide really added a bit more pain to the experience, as if no matter how many times you try that slide you'll never get anywhere.
Imagine having to read *it* every time you wanted to go down the slide..

Impulse and Joel both had fun challenges and puzzles while Grian went Earthbound levels of existential. It really picked up in the last bit where Impulse and Joel were stuck in Grian's mind. What really sells the existentialism of it is the question "are slides still fun?" Haunting.

And if he had no time limit, he'd make it so they go through the same puzzles over and over again but more and more distorted.
I love how the soundtrack choosen by Impulse (or his editor, if he has one) compliments well every moment and the whole concept of Grian's escape room. When they got to understand they were in a loop, the music kinda gave me a vibe of Celeste (the indie game) as if they really were digging into Grian's mind in a floaty dreamy way..

grian's bit was very good because it uses pyscological horror mixed with escape room

If Grian wanted to be REALLY evil, he could have replaced one of the sculk blocks in the Mumbo room with a sculk catalyst. They have slightly different top textures, and if they used the scaffolding to slowly die of fall damage, he could have used observers to detect some stone changing to sculk that would have been placed underneath.
This was ridiculously entertaining. Grian is in his element.
The end of Grain’s escape room is like the endings to some of the old minecraft games that i used to watch RUclipsrs play as a kid

I would love to see more one-off videos or short series like this, especially collabs! They're a very fun way to get more minecraft content that isn't exclusively hermitcraft (not that I don't love hermitcraft too!) It has the same vibe as Grian's old build swap videos which were hilarious. Love when we get to see other folks, how they play and how their personalities work together. The HC/Empires crossover introduced me to a lot of new people to follow who I had never watched before!
All 3 of them got top 10 trending for gaming, that's awesome
After watching all 3, Grian's is my favorite. The concept is hillarious!
At the very end in the winner room, I saw your inventory filling up and I so wanted it to fill all the way up with chicken. The chicken made it to the 9th slot and I was so excited. It got to 46 chicken and… screen change. Nooooooo!!!
