    Despite the couple of mistakes, the girl in the red coat was the soul of the Sochi games. Considering what this kid had been through in the 10 days between team and individual events, it's unbelievable that she put out a performance of this caliber. And she sold it right through to the very last look over her shoulder; never gave up and never gave in to the crushing disappointment after the fall. Yulia was such a fighter and so iconic.

      @flickasBF 3 года назад +91

      @@324shine After two phenomenal performances in the inaugural Olympic team event...on home ice...bringing home team gold, she became a global overnight sensation, with reporters hounding her during the entire 10 days between team and individual events despite her flying back to Moscow to train away from the Sochi limelight. Microphones were discovered planted in her locker room, she slept at the rink and later in a bedbug-ridden apt (she revealed she was covered in bites during the individual event), a man went public stating he was her long-lost father, etc. As a fairly introverted person, she was completely overwhelmed by the press and exhausted by the time she returned to Sochi for the individual event. She was crushed by this performance, as it dropped her to 5th, and she apologized to the country afterwards. Yulia took silver in the World Championships a month later, but her senior career slipped the next season from puberty, constant public pressure, and as later revealed, anorexia nervosa. She retired at 17 under a new coach, revealing she'd been in rehab to address her eating disorder. It was known she performed during these Olympics on essentially a powdered drink diet to keep her weight stable/down, just another exhausting factor in addition to everything else. Somehow, despite all this, she sold this exquisite long program, esp when performed clean (see Euro Championships). Even brought Schindler's List director Steven Spielberg to tears.

    I miss her a lotttt, i thought we saw the birth of Yulia´s career and many years were to come, but we only saw the birth of Eteri´s dominance and brand. I would love Eteri to start aiming for longevity with her students, otherwise following her skaters its just a bunch of wins for a season (more or less, but they defenitely peak before 17) and then bye, truly sad.

    • @Angel-xe2tl

      @karupe9982 3 года назад +20

      @@Angel-xe2tl yes, and even being thin they dont eat much solid or drink water near a competition, they should add a coach to the team, one that deals with the transition to womanhood and keeps the right mindset when it comes to body and health, Eteri is great at what she does, but sometimes the means arent justified by the end

      Eteri era una entrenadora junior y Yulia fue su 1ra senior, lamentablemente los egos son mal consejeros y sus estudiantes querian exclusividad algo que Eteri nunca ha estado dispuesta a dar

    • @karupe9982
      @karupe9982 3 года назад +4

      @@KoraimaLynn Claro, pero Eteri no ha sido capaz de admitir que una vez que sus alumnas llegan al nivel senior necesitan otro coach. La idea no es que las deportistas tengan solo éxito durante sus años Junior, sino que sean deportistas por todo el tiempo que deseen. El equipo Eteri o debe incorporar a alguien que vea mejor a sus seniors cuando crecen o admitir que brillan únicamente en lo Junior y soltar a sus estudiantes a tiempo para que tengan buenas y fructíferas carreras al crecer. Un poco más y no afirmo que es abuso robar así el futuro de esas jóvenes y sus tutores que confían en ella sin darse cuenta
      Y respecto a Yulia siendo su primera Senior, la anorexia fue la psiquis de Yulia pero la alimentación y exigencia fue su equipo, y no tiene que ver con si fue junior o senior, si fue primera o reciente, es su salud y física y mental y con dos dedos de frente basta para ver que ella no estaba bien y si equipo no presto antencion, por eso se cambió de coach pero su cuerpo le cobró

    • @KoraimaLynn
      @KoraimaLynn 3 года назад +2

      @@karupe9982 Eteri no puede obligarlas a que se queden y eso que las estudiantes de Eteri necesitan otro coach cuando sean mayores de 16 es una falacia ¿con quien irian en Rusia? Mishin es de San Petersburgo y él no acepta a casi nadie y menos mujeres porque son muy complicadas, Liza fue la 1ra mujer que aceptó en su grupo y ella entró siendo una junior donde aprendió 3 axel y quad pero luego lo dejó de practicar, Mishin no es un hombre que obtiene resultados a la rápida él va lentamente y si van a estar de acuerdo se quedan si no se van Liza tuvo grandes bajones pero tiene voluntad de seguir imaginate la pobre fue campeona olimpica de la juventud a los 15 y después cuando le llegó la pubertad y los problemas no pudo clasificarse a Sochi 2014, después tiene subida le va bien y es campeona europea ymundial 2015, después tiene otro bajón con malas actuaciones y no logra clasificarse para Pyeongchang 2018 , empieza a recuperarse y ganar después de la temporada olimpica, luego otra vez baja de nivel y ahora otra vez sube , no hay en liza una constante de siempre ser destacada pero ella sigue ¿por qué? No hay competencia en San Petersburgo ella domina esa región, ni siquiera hay competencia fuerte en su club, se creia que Samudorova la rebasaria pero Sofia después de ganar los europeos 2019 ha tenido bajón que hasta queda debajo de Liza; si de verdad las estudiantes de Eteri quieren patinar deben tragarse su orgullo y continuar ya sea con subidas o bajadas, pero a casi todas el ego les gana, no soportan que hay mejores que ellas y se aferraban a sus exitos pasados, la misma Eteri lo dijo te bajas del pedestal y no eres nadie debes seguir trabajando para continuar, lo de Yulia, Evgenia, Polina, Kostornaia son ejemplos claros de no continuar a pesar de las caidas o bajones; Polina cuando dejó a Eteri dijo en entrevista que la ponia mal ver a las juniors haciendo quads o 3 axel y que ella no podia, era mucha presión psicológica por eso dejó el grupo, pero también porque ella no se visualizaba patinar ese era deseo de sus padres pero ella queria entrar a la universidad y resolver problemas matematicos en un escritorio, sin embargo ahora volvió con Eteri como entrenadora, Polina tenia lutz de libro de texto hasta era ejemplo para la ISU ella pudo seguir compitiendo pero no tenia voluntad; con Yulia ocurre algo parecido el sueño de oro olimpico era de su madre no de ella, Yulia sólo complacia a su madre y la medalla de oro olimpica era el sueño y deseo de su madre a quien le entregó su medalla, mira como son los rusos, los adultos, que no se cortan al hablar la vecina de Yulia en el departamento donde vivian cuando era joven dijo en entrevista para la tv que la madre de Yulia la obligaba a patinar hasta las 11 pm todos los dias en invierno como no podian salir la niña patinaba en los de ruedas en el pasillo hasta que era la hora que terminaba, lo de la alimentación es igual eso venia desde casa, supongo que la madre le.vigilaba lo que comia, en la entrevista de Eteri (que sacaron de contexto maliciosamente) Eteri dijo que se sorprendia que Yulia sólo tomaba esas proteinas en polvo en todo el día, no la veia comer nada más; ahora tu dices que era obligación de ella atenderla ¿por qué si no es su madre? No he visto que en su momento le hayan reclamado a Orser por los problemas alimenticios de Dalemann, o le reclamen a la entrenadora de Kaori o incluso a la federación japonesa por el estado de Mai Mihara que no sólo es su enfermedad sino que también tiene problemas alimenticios, ¿acaso le han reclamado al ex entrenador de Gracie Gold por su anorexia? Pues nada sólo a Eteri se le van los haters, mira a Liza ha bajado más de 10 kilos y no veo a nadie reclamando a Mishin porque ha adelgazado tanto; ahora apuntan a Anna pero es notorio que la constitución genética de ella es así larga y delgada como su madre; los mismos haters ahora tachan de gorda a Alina más aun cuando ella se cayó en todos los saltos en uno de los shows, sin embargo luego nos enteramos que habia estado dando clases y presentación en una pista al aire libre en otra ciudad a -20 °C , y de ahí viajó al show obviamente su cuerpo estaba cansado y aparte se veia que en el rink hacia muchisimo frio por como la mayoria de los asistentes vestian con grandes chamarras térmicas u abrigos; son pocos los que siguen por varios años en patinaje, la mayoria usa el deporte como trampolin para entrar a una buena universidad pero si su deseo es solo patinar ellas seguirán a pesar de todos los altibajos, ahí tienes a Morisi creo que lleva con Eteri como senior unos 6 u 7 años y sin embargo él continua con ella a pesar que han sido más momentos bajos que los altos y eso que él puede hacer varios quads y no es muy artistico que digamos pero igual sigue entrenando ha mejorado bastante sin embargo es bastante nervioso cuando compite lo que le provoca que falle

    Победила Сотникова, а смотрю Юлю и не могу насмотреться, так же как на Ягудина, а Ками, ох как больно и шикарное катание, они останутся в памяти надолго

    How unfortunate….Kamila valieva and yulia lipnitskaya both displayed immense amount of talent before olympics and at olympics team event, both the youngest, age 15, but had to be sabotaged by diffferent people (for yulia, it was press and a bunch of pressure; for Kamila, it was doping but not her fault)…what a shame ISU
