The majority of players just trundles along, playing the game and not caring much about anything else, probably not even patch notes. Thus, while any polls conducted in forums or the reddit or on youtube channels might show high adoption of the feature, in reality that's like far from true and will remain this way unless aggressively shoved into players faces ingame.

But also importantly its a statement to the fact that at least 6,000 people have the small battles option enabled. which if all of those theoretical people queued for small battles that were all 8 v 8, we would have around 750 matches and that's more than enough active battles. gaijin should just filter the matchmaking for people who want small battles.
This perfectly demonstrates that the problems aren’t the missiles or the multipathing, but the player count. In no world, should you be able to get 10 or even 5 kills, and your team still lose. Another reason is so many people are bombing and not helping kill at all because they’re stock and have no weaponry to assist. There should be 2 Fox 2s and 2 Fox 3s stock, remove the flare/chaff mod and give flare and chaff stock, and give the games a max of 10 players per team. Do that and most of top tiers issues will cease to exist
Close range IRCCM fights, occasional late game dogfights(albeit they were more common when IRCCM missiles didn't exist) and low altitude head on jousts felt more engaging and fun than clicking 2 buttons at some unaware guy and hear a ding 10 seconds later. I'm getting 3-5 kills every match and surviving hella more but I'm not having fun

previous patch: lock, fire missile, notch, die because there are 16 people shooting missiles at you. this patch: lock, fire missile, defend because 16 people are shooting at you, your fox-3's hit or miss, you die or live if you defended enough. its hardly any different before other than needing to focus more on surviving then just slinging missile's and holding lock while flying 2 feet off the ground, once again, smaller matches would largely remove these problems.

Just finished grinding out the amraams on the av8b plus harrier which is 12.3, and most games are a downtier to 11.3. Its literally a free ace every game haha.
i hope they buff the other missiles like the pl-12 and r-77 and r-darter so there's more of an incentive to use other nations. right now by grinding sweden you get 4 amraams and like 600 chaff, and even worse with the f15c's 8 amraams, and being honest im not feeling much of reason to grind any other nation except maybe france cause mica go BRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR

My condolences. The only map that has the right size trees is afghanistan, on that map they are next to 1 or 2 story buildings and the trees are the same height. On every other map trees are like genetically modified abominations from jurassic park.
Hello, I was reading comments and I'm curious how would smaller teams make top tier different. I am new to this so please bear with me. Top tier now 16v16 is about spamming Fox3s. 6v6 and 8v8 would potentially make people play more strategically, more teamplay, positioning etc. But that is assumimg your average WT player would do all that instead of just doing what they're doing now. Flying straight and slinging fox3s, no? Don't get me wrong, I would love to make top tier more dynamic, but I don't think making smaller teams alone is going to help it that much.
Well, when the game was 8v8 by default, or even 12v12, when Gaijin didn't force people to buy premium and when what should truly be praised (good gameplay) was indeed celebrated, players worked as a team and matches were dynamic. It’s been years since I’ve seen anyone ask an ally to fly in formation or players coordinating to bomb. As a veteran of this game for almost 12 years, it’s very sad to see the current state of the game and realize that 90% of what's happening is largely due to the players themselves who have bent to the situation
sometimes im flying and got almost of the entire enemy team in my ass and wonder where my teammates are and when i look at the statistics board i see that more than half of my team is gone
That doesn't make any sense. The biggest reward multiplier in War Thunder right now is the duration of a match. An 8v8 match can last almost twice or even three times as long as a 16v16 match. The more players there are, the higher the chance that the match will become a snowball effect for one side. A match with 3 kills lasting 15 minutes pays much better than a 3-kill match that lasted 4 minutes...
I mean, this is how it is in real life too, so in that regard, the game is cool as fuck. The problem is that with the old build, people could cheat their way out by flying low, thus never learned how to properly deal with radar missiles. People are so used to just fly low, this will take a long time for people to adjust. We need to approach the game completely different when fox-3's are around. That being said, I think the splash from the explosion on the ground could use a small radius nerf, what do you think?

gaijin also buffed the chafs a lot and placed limitations on the use of the fox 3 such as the need for lock or tws and removed the possibility of shooting pitbulls. the biggest problem with wt is that not even the players know what they really want, they ask day after day for modern things but they don't want to study and learn how to deal with modern things. They want to take an F22 and go to Readon's battle with cannons...

War Thunder is an arcade PvP game and has rewards, unlike DCS, so its very frustrating when people push this agenda of ultra realism and when you have to defend against missiles and you don't get to do anything and hence, get no rewards. If gaijin actually rewarded surviving and working with your team than I wouldn't have a problem. Also for people who wanted FOX-3's added to the game because it would be "fun" and make top tier "not stale anymore" you're stupid. I get that people flying low to the ground using the exaggerated multipathing was annoying but at least it wasn't as stale as this new meta of long range missile spam and running away. Also, don't just say "turn around or notch or chaff to dodge the missile". I know how to do that I'm not a retard, not like the F-5C or F-4S players who finally got their top tier jets that are on my team. I pretty decent at the game and have been playing for just under 6 years. Also no one can deny the statement that this update ruined stock grinding for top tier jets.

The R-77s perform SO BADLY that it’s not even worth grinding for the SU-27SM or anything past 11.3-12.0 at all. The F-15C , and F-16C and any derivatives of them that use Fox-3s like the F-15J MSIP and F-16AM (Plus Gripens with AIM-120s) pretty much curb stomp anything outside of 10km.

oh yes of course, I forgot that now there is this xD, I put a different config just for chaff on the keyboard and one to select what type of countermeasure launch I want on the plane, but it is always set for chaff and flares together

The F-15C Baz Meshupar, even with its limitations, doesn't fall short compared to other aircraft because it has a very good combo: performance + AIM-120, good IR missiles... it even has HMS for IR missiles, you see? Although your question is valid, if we technically analyze each aircraft, we can understand the game's situation

Besides that, Mig-29 also has good missiles, and best IR and FOX-1 missiles as well as better(best) radar. Baz can only properly use those aim-120 on relatively short distances(25-15KM), with requirement to maintain lock until missile see target. Adding Barak 1(F16C) or giving Baz Meshupar br of at least 13.3 is the only solution here.
I just don't get a dopamine hit for BVR like you get for gun kills, and even IR kills are pushing it. Top tier is not playable for me right now. I'm back to grinding GRB right now and playing Props.

@@amari2509 if i was a bad player i wouldn't be complaining in the comments like 90% of the people are and i wouldn't be having fun. i average like 5 kills a game because i know how to play against fox-3's, and as a DCS player whose favorite module is the f15c, I've been waiting for this type of gameplay for years and i enjoy it. the last year of war thunder has been hugging the ground brainlessly and spamming 9m's in a furball. Now im actually glad i can kill half the enemy team's braindead players before i even see them now in this patch, because at least not every match devolves into a furball of random missiles an teamkilling, but with the amount of people shooting ARH missiles this patch games are over too fast. overall not much changed between this, and last patch besides actually needing to learn how to defend missiles (and not just hugging the ground or notching), and confusing these missiles really isn't hard BTW. go watch karmas MICA video, several of his missiles are evaded from extremely close range even, the only problem with this update is the missile spam is worse than last update, which again would be solved by 6 v 6 . 8 v 8 matches, and not to mention other ARH missiles are underperforming compared to the amraam.

Unless you were playing the goober “under 100 meters Mach 1.2 straight towards the enemy!” Play style which to me was the most boring repetitive thing ever. Go in, get 1-3 kills, die, next match, repeat. There was so little strategy and engagement besides the 15 seconds of dog fighting you’d engage in before either you or your target gets 3rd partied.

This is a lot better than the 'hug the ground and hold W for missile shield protection'.

ARH missile aircraft should really be 13.3 or 14.0, with exception of the harrier maybe because its so slow, i feel really bad for the people who are 12.3 and 11.7 with no ARH missiles

The problem is not having multipathing, the problem is not having multipathing in a horrible 16v16 mode that only serves as a money grab from bad players. To have Fox-3 in the game, most people (among good content creators and air mode players) with common sense that I saw asked for 6v6, at most 8v8. If the game had these limits, there wouldn't be a problem NOT having multipathing, because you would be in situations of duels, positioning, and strategy, making the game healthier. Today we live in a situation that Karma explores in the video, either you spam AMRAAMS and return to base to stay alive, or you apply strategy and positioning and end up 1v7 at the end of the game. How is that fun? I'll ask a simple question: if the game were 2v2 or 4v4, how often do you think Karma would lose? in the video what I see are allies and enemies playing as bots, Karma eliminated more than half of a lobby and still lost, this was the saddest defeat I have ever seen in a video here on the platform, he did nothing wrong and more than that any player deserved to win

And maybe markers remove cuz its REALISTIC, with maybe some changes to spot mechanic.

AAM-4 is such a gimmick too its mod is after Aim-120A and irl is comparable to Aim-120C5

It's crazy that f15J and f15 Baz meshupar are same br, but Israeli version has no tws.

The F-15C Baz Meshupar, even with its limitations, doesn't fall short compared to other aircraft because it has a very good combo: performance + AIM-120, good IR missiles... it even has HMS for IR missiles, you see? Although your question is valid, if we technically analyze each aircraft, we can understand the game's situation
@@Bad_Karma777 Baz only has two more missiles, and arguably better maneuverability and power. Besides that, Mig-29 also has good missiles, and best IR and FOX-1 missiles as well as better(best) radar. Baz can only properly use those aim-120 on relatively short distances(25-15KM), with requirement to maintain lock until missile see target. Adding Barak 1(F16C) or giving Baz Meshupar br of at least 13.3 is the only solution here.
I just don't get a dopamine hit for BVR like you get for gun kills, and even IR kills are pushing it. Top tier is not playable for me right now. I'm back to grinding GRB right now and playing Props.
This video is sad to watch even for me. I upload them here and simply look for other things to do. I play with tanks or play something else. I no longer enjoy playing what I used to like before

because if I change the aspect quickly enough the missile may miss trajectory or become unstuck

everybody hate's this patch but i love it, i really cant understand the problems people are having as im not having any of them really, and most of the problems i have were already in the game lol
@@amari2509 if i was a bad player i wouldn't be complaining in the comments like 90% of the people are and i wouldn't be having fun. i average like 5 kills a game because i know how to play against fox-3's, and as a DCS player whose favorite module is the f15c, I've been waiting for this type of gameplay for years and i enjoy it. the last year of war thunder has been hugging the ground brainlessly and spamming 9m's in a furball. Now im actually glad i can kill half the enemy team's braindead players before i even see them now in this patch, because at least not every match devolves into a furball of random missiles an teamkilling, but with the amount of people shooting ARH missiles this patch games are over too fast.
overall not much changed between this, and last patch besides actually needing to learn how to defend missiles (and not just hugging the ground or notching), and confusing these missiles really isn't hard BTW. go watch karmas MICA video, several of his missiles are evaded from extremely close range even, the only problem with this update is the missile spam is worse than last update, which again would be solved by 6 v 6 . 8 v 8 matches, and not to mention other ARH missiles are underperforming compared to the amraam.
@@GoodGuyDevinpeople are acting as if this wasn’t the reality with the r27ERs for over a year already. Unless you were playing the goober “under 100 meters Mach 1.2 straight towards the enemy!” Play style which to me was the most boring repetitive thing ever. Go in, get 1-3 kills, die, next match, repeat. There was so little strategy and engagement besides the 15 seconds of dog fighting you’d engage in before either you or your target gets 3rd partied.
Same. People who don’t like this patch just have skill issues, nor do they have the knowledge of how to navigate the fox 3 landscape.
@@amari2509 u sounds like a bad player, im purple looking at war thunder statistics, and i like new gameplay, u still can play like old way and get a kills, im playing like that with AV-8B+ when i get 13.0 battle, and i do well in my J-11 and mig-29smt, u just ppl sucks and cry all the time, go play mario or something, they only one thing they should change is player amount per team cuz those smaller battles are not working or u get them like one per day which is joke, and its still most of time 12v12 so its like old battles where 12v12 was standard and it should stay like this.

@Bad_Karma777 I don't see how reducing players would affect anything. It would make matches even more dull and shorter. This just feels like a weak parroting argument of other content creators without any real meaning behind the point. People are acting as if you're facing all 16 players at once when that's the farthest from the truth. Take a flank, face a handful of people, and go defensive. This is a lot better than the 'hug the ground and hold W for missile shield protection'.

Try taking r27ets usually a lot of people dont flare them and u can get 20km kills with them

ARH missile aircraft should really be 13.3 or 14.0, with exception of the harrier maybe because its so slow, i feel really bad for the people who are 12.3 and 11.7 with no ARH missiles
the amraam makes kills feel dull. it takes no skill and it kinda takes away the point from the game imo

Then try AMRAMM with Tornado and Harrier.
When everyone just flies straight at each other launching all their missiles, it takes very little skill to do well at this game.

The problem is not having multipathing, the problem is not having multipathing in a horrible 16v16 mode that only serves as a money grab from bad players.
To have Fox-3 in the game, most people (among good content creators and air mode players) with common sense that I saw asked for 6v6, at most 8v8. If the game had these limits, there wouldn't be a problem NOT having multipathing, because you would be in situations of duels, positioning, and strategy, making the game healthier.
Today we live in a situation that Karma explores in the video, either you spam AMRAAMS and return to base to stay alive, or you apply strategy and positioning and end up 1v7 at the end of the game. How is that fun?
I'll ask a simple question: if the game were 2v2 or 4v4, how often do you think Karma would lose?
in the video what I see are allies and enemies playing as bots, Karma eliminated more than half of a lobby and still lost, this was the saddest defeat I have ever seen in a video here on the platform, he did nothing wrong and more than that any player deserved to win

to all ppl which complains at top tier, what do you want? xD its pretty good now, its looks almost like in DCS, its realistic, and its funny, just git gut, the only thing they should change is player number cuz 16v16 its a joke, and smaller battles are a joke cuz most of them are 12v12 which are just old player number which should be a standard for ANY game mode. And maybe markers remove cuz its REALISTIC, with maybe some changes to spot mechanic.
