It's pronounced "Shilovs" btw. They play him because theoretically his ceiling is higher than DeSmith which seems to be the case so far considering his shutout in closing out Nashville. If game 1 was a Canucks loss they might have gone back to DeSmith but they'll probably keep him in net for at least one more after a win. If Demko was truly right around the corner late in this series they might still consider the "higher floor" DeSmith a safer option.
