I got the CVT and it's awesome. It still allows you to play around with the paddles behind the wheel, while still being perfectly comfortable as a daily car. Also the CVT torque is distributed 55% to the back wheels, which makes it fun in the winter. The only thing a manual allows is aggressive launch and handbrake turns. The stuff you wouldn't need that often if you drive this as a daily car. But the subaru purists would always argue it should be a manual 😂 Just go test drive this car, its not your rally car anymore. Its something else.
Car enthusiasts make up less than 1% of car buyers so to make cars manual exclusive or manual in general is pretty silly/goofy and makes absolutely 0 sense You're also typically not the people giving these makers money lol, yall typically buy 2nd hand.
I love the car and have heard great things...even Engineering Explained propped up this CVT! But the price is def a bit steep. I have grown to enjoy the looks, especially on the Ice Silver Metallic. Seems too work well with that color. After living and driving in LA w a manual for many years in my heavily modified 02 WRX hatchback, I sadly decided to sell it because my legs were just burned out almost every day! Have been driving a slightly modified 2017 Infiniti QX50 3.7 and happy to not HAVETO shift, yet can do manual in the right situations.
Great points! We have a lot of traffic here also, making a manual tiring for daily driving. I think it's good for Subaru to offer options for customers, choice is always best.
Rally drivers changing their manual to sequential or even paddleshifters to they can focus more in driving at high speeds yet i hear no complains, cvt sports car like ferrari or lambo still no complains but if youre just a normal guy with spt or cvt subaru they say car enthusiasts will hate you? lol if youre saying real drivers dont drive paddle and sequatial most of the known racers drive on those lol. I mean whatever you drive either manual, cvt , spt or automatic people will still say something out of jealousy.
There is no point in giving a wrx a cvt. I'd be looking for an entirely different car at that point. I'd buy a forester. My 23 wrx is the best daily ever, driving manual isn't a hassle, its pure enjoyment.

Thanks for sharing, we love hearing feedback from actual owners! We only get a week with these cars.
I like how the car looks. The new offroad Lamborghini reminds me of this car
Fair enough!
Yeah i thought the same
Car enthusiasts don’t like CVT’s and like hatchbacks What does Subaru do? Give enthusiasts a CVT and a sedan. 🤣
They really know how to sell to their base haha.
fuck hatchbacks
Toyota owns a big percentage and that would whoop the shit out of everything in the wrc they don’t want that
I get the CVT part but you don’t have to like hatchbacks to be a car enthusiast.

Thank you.. was thinking of getting a gt, but since this video i think not now. Subaru. Listen. More powerful enginee..
Seems to be a common complaint!
@@PRNTestDrive but i may still get one. 😂
Not everyone drives super fast or drag races. Some of us want a daily driver WRX automatic!
Fair enough!
Get an Outback in that case

Was definitely a weird decision when it was announced, still is after driving it.
This car is always thirsty for Gas ⛽️ only real negative to this trim.
Makes sense given the weight and AWD system. It's going to use more fuel than competitors.
