This makes me heartsore! We as student nurses used to follow the Royal Showband. Five or six of us would get off duty, dress up and off we would go to thumb a lift to wherever he and the Royal would be playing. I adored Brendan and drove my mother mad playing his records over and over as only the young can do. 😃
The show band I was in worked opposite Brendans band at the Aladdin. Wow, not only a wonderful voice, but a true gentleman, as were each and every member of his band, gents and ladies all. I miss each and every one of you! Keith, from the Bobby freeman show......
I remember coming back with my Mum and Dad to Limerick in 1964.I was full of the Beatles ,The Stones and the Animals etc.I thought Brendan Bowyer was corny and laughed at the showbands. How wrong I was!.What a fantastic talent and an incredible singer.I remember Tony Hatch the English song writer who wrote Downtown saying he never saw a Showband that didn't have talent.God bless Brendan wish I had taken the trouble to see him when I had the chance.

My wife and I were in Vegas many years back. We both are predominantly of Irish background. We had gone to Fitzgerald's to take in a show. This was the first and only time I got to see Brendan in person. On one of his brakes I had the pleasure of speaking with him. Fantastic singer, and a heck of a guy in real life.
