    Apparently some were made for racing. The curves are less steep from front to back - normally a CV looks like half a circle when you look at them from the side. The real Dagonets were lowered. The French called it "Une propre 3CV" due to the performance. They were racing. 2CV racing were a thing in the 1970-80s. Today there's still offroad racing in 2CVs it's open class. You can participate in a modified 2CV. But many are as is from the factory and very original. I think people would be surprised of just how difficult terrain a 2CV can handle. Many normal 4WDs would struggle in the same terrain. The 2CV weighs 450 KG. Most terrain vehicles are easily 4 times heavier. Which means the 2CV could be riding on the top - while more powerful and heavy vehicles simply would sink and be using everything they've got just to prevent a standstill while the 2CV would be dancing like a butterfly with ease.

    Wow! Realy great! Extraordinary!
    I've seen a many 2CV's throughout the years, but nothing like this one 😃!
    Lovely and sporty little Coupè!
    Hope the next Video gives some more information about the tech specs!
    Here in Germany, the Citroën 2CV is nicknamed "Ente" (Duck) because of it's strangely perculiar Design!
    Pity, this one has never been a normal production model.
    I sure would have loved one of'em!

    Amazing how a few small changes in the bodyline can make such a difference in the appearance! From Classic to Classy! That nose reminds me of a 1950s Maserati. Thanks for showing.... looking forward to the Kugelwagen series.

    recognize the talent of a cameraman as you never see his reflection on a paint job.....or mirror :-)))))
    Lovely car.

    • @team3383
      @team3383 6 лет назад +2

      He was showing his "reflect" LOL in the paintwork on purpose.
      Funny looking car. I like the roof line and contorted nose, but I could do without the Dyane dashboard and steering wheel and I would certainly have had no red vinyl on the seats - but its not my car so ... ! :-)

    I have googled the 2cv dagonet, and most of the originals i found all were 4 door variants. The only two door was a chopped racer without a roof.
    But then, this was a Dyaneconverted into a dagonet

    • @OldTimerGarage
      @OldTimerGarage  6 лет назад +1

      Yes. That's a good point. The owner of this one didn't like the look of the 4 door version and since this one is a replica he took the liberty to make it to his taste.

    There are a few vids about the Dagonet on YT and bunch of informations on the Net, all in French but with lot of pics. This one looks like a phase 2 but don't think it's a real one. Under the bonnet, a slight increase in cc, carburetor change and double exhaust, no more. Panel was different as well. Body of phase 3 was fiberglass.

    • @gosportjamie
      @gosportjamie 6 лет назад +6

      +Etienne Musslin I wouldn't call it a bad replica, the styling of the bonnet is very much how it was on later Dagonets, though maybe slightly raised to accommodate a larger 602cc or even GS engine, and there was at least one two-door Dagonet built, plus, as is often the case with limited production vehicles there tends to be a lot of variance between individual vehicles depending on what the original owner wanted and could afford as they could be accommodated in the production, so you're being a little unfair in your comment. Of course it is a replica, the Dagonet was never sold in the UK, and even if it had been it's unlikely many, if any, people would have bought it due to the cost, as happened with the Citroen Bijou, yet this car is clearly right-hand drive and as no-one would alter an original Dagonet by changing it to right-hand drive this car must be a replica. Then add in the fact that the Dagonet was only in production from 1952 to 1957 and this car wears a registration issued in 1964 and it is even more apparent that this isn't, and isn't trying to be, an original Dagonet.
      It is very likely that this is the only Dagonet-style 2CV in the UK and the whole body has been pretty much hand-built so it's still a bloody good achievement, and even more so when you consider that the owner has only one arm. I'm sure the people that built the original Dagonet cars would be very proud to know that someone felt their original creations interesting enough to go to the trouble of building a replica of...

    That's the coolest Citroën I have ever seen. Like to have seen the drive line. One question I have ,does this have 4wheel steering? Just watching the owner put it away it appears that the rear tires are turning also. One more thing, fuck the motor vehicle's registration department of anywhere. We have the same assholes here that are very reminiscent of Hitler's Gestapo,who begin their public duty as bureau of vital statistics then became the most feared of NAZI organizations. The DMV in America is the same type of organization. Beautiful car,hopefully the government dosent decide to commandeer it or some other evil crap.

    J' aime bien les chaussures du mécanicien coloris FERRARI rouges . Pourquoi avoir installé des feux antibrouillard sur un 2 CV qui avance à 60 km/h au compteur ?
    J' avais à l' époque une 2 CV 1954 ( d' occasion ) qui n' avait que 3 vitesse vitesse maxi 70 km/h ... pas grave pour rouler sur nos pavés du Nord et pour livrer les oeufs

      Cette réplique est montée avec un moteur 602 cc donc elle roule a 120 km/h sans problème.
      Il n'y a jamais eu de 2cv avec une boite a 3 vitesses. Meme en 1954. Les type A ou AZ de cette époque avaient bien 4 vitesses mais vous avez raison par rapport a la vitesse. C'est à peu près la vitesse de pointe des 2cv de cette époque.

      Old Timer Garage 4éme vitesse avec la marche arrière bien sur et 3 pour avancer .

    • @OldTimerGarage

      Non, toutes les 2cv ont toujours eu des boites a 4 vitesses plus une marche arriere ;) La seule qui avait trois vitesses plus la marche arriere etait le prototype (la TPV).

    Pour voir de véritables 2CV Dagonet, il suffisait de venir au Salon de Reims les 10 et 11 mars 2018, il y avait tous les modèles recensés avec les petites-filles de Dagonet.
    Toujours d'après le DVLA, la voiture immatriculée [OWT 109B ] est de 1964 avec un moteur de 602cc. Jean Dagonet a pris sa retraite en 1958 et les moteurs étaient des 375cc, ce n'est donc pas une véritable Dagonet mais une réplique mal faite en plus
    les véritables Dagonet sont visibles ici : forum.2cv-legende.com/viewtopic.php?t=9588

      De rien... j'ai eu l'occasion de voir les véritables Dagonet de très près, cette vidéo m'a fait bondir
      le mec annonce une Dagonet restaurée alors qu'il s'agit d'une simple réplique faite à partir d'une 2CV plus récente.
      Ensuite il dit "the only one I've ever seen! " (La seule que j'ai jamais vue), il reste 5 voitures à l'heure actuelle

      Definitely a late M28 602cc engine by the sound of it.

      Yes... DVLA says a 602cc engine and a 1964 2CV

    That's a lot off difference.
    a beauty by the way.
    looks a bit like a hybrid 2cv and a beetle.

    How dissapointing. No bonnet or boot up. No test drive. Was all that reving accompanied by clutch slip? Try Jay Leno’s videos as a working example.

      si seulement il n'essayais pas de la faire passer pour une véritable Dagonet, ça pourrait passer mais la c'est un mélange de différentes époques, à l'intérieur c'est encore pire.... RHD, sièges en simili-cuir bicolore, volant de 2CV6, etc... rien ne correspond

    • @filsdedieu100

      c'est une 2CV tunning non ? :'-)

    • @Xsara167VTS
      @Xsara167VTS 6 лет назад +1

      Pas vraiment du tuning mais une réplique, c'est différent.... le mec a essayé de se faire plaisir dans son garage en faisant une réplique de 2CV Dagonet comme d'autres font des répliques de 2CV Barbot. Pour avoir vu les vraies Dagonet de près je peux dire que sa réplique est plus qu'approximative. Il n'a jamais du voir les Dagonet qu'en photo
