Ubisoft actually doing something right by giving everyone their preference. Some like the old school approach and others like the RPG experience. Now there'll be games specifically for your taste. I'm as an old school as anyone but Odyssey was one of my favorite entries in the series. I can appreciate both the OG format and the open world. So MOAR games for ME!
I mean its a good idea but still not perfect because then you'll want to get into the whole franchise but will like some games but not others, obviously they'll be loads of people who like rpgs and more normal action games but yeah
@@anotherhappylanding4746 Its better to have great games for each players taste rather than a mediocre game that tries and fails to please everyone's tastes. I personally haven't played the RPG games yet, but I don't like that they've strayed away from the traditional AC experience. It makes me disappointed and less eager to play those games, but now knowing that they are making Mirage to satisfy that traditional AC experience, it makes me more excited for codename red because it's clear that they're focused on making that game a good OWRPG while Mirage focuses on being an AC game. I (theoretically) don't have to worry about either game trying to do too much and get to enjoy two different, and hoepfully equally great, experiences.
Hexe means "Witch" in German. And Witches and the Witch hunt was a big thing in the medieval times in Germany. Just a guess but it might be a game located in Medieval Germany
It doesn't have to be medieval Germany it could just be medieval central europe. But of course Germany especially in the Rhine and Moselle region has a crazy amount of castles and would work well.
I'd say the majority are good, the first 4 are excellent, 3 isn't a bad game per say just average, ac4 is great, unity, rogue and syndicate are weaker ones, origin is great, I'd say odyessy is pretty poor and valhalla for the most part is good
So I just started playing the series Summer 2022 and I really enjoyed AC1 and this game seems like a spiritual successor to that game and I couldn't be happier!
It's such a good series. I'm currently on a playthrough myself (started with Origins then went back to the beginning). Currently on Black Flag. It's an awesome ride & you'll loveit!
I'm actually really looking forward to AC:Mirage, since Basim was the best character of Valhalla. We've GOT to see more of his story since he's taken over the Animus in the present day, and he's the only present day character who has actual knowledge of First Civ/Isu artifacts due to who he really is...
Eric is spot on. Assassin's Creed RPG is cool. It's understandable that Ubisoft wanted to try something new and different because the franchise has been around for a long time. The last game I played was Origins, which I really liked. I haven't gotten a chance to play Odyssey and Valhalla mainly because of 1) time and 2) the deeper RPG elements kinda put me off based off first impressions. I don't think it's a coincidence that Mirage seems to be an homage to the first Assassin's Creed game since the first game came out about 15 years ago. 1) Going back to the roots and fundamentals with social stealth, the Creed, white and red Assassin outfit, etc 2) Bringing back the tradition of cutting off the ring finger to show commitment to the cause, but also to make use of the hidden blade easier 3) Middle-East time period. The training scene in the cinematic looks to be Alamut, which Masyaf is based off of 4) The cinematic also has an homage of Basim pushing the scaffold, which is something you can do in the first Assassin's Creed game. Also, a cool homage to Ezio from the Assassin's Creed 2 cinematic like Eric mentioned
My reintroduction to this franchise was through Origins, being a massive ancient Egypt nerd I would be absolutely foolish if I didn't take advantage of it being on gamepass. I played the Ezio trilogy with my brother when they released but never really appreciated them as I was quite young. After I finally 100% origins I had to buy the Ezio Trilogy and now I'm fucking loving it. I couldn't be happier that they announced one set in Japan because I am also a huge Japanese history nerd XD. Mirage looks absolutely sick from the cinematic here's hoping they can nail it.
Assassin’s Creed is also a video game to the people in the animus. That’s why cosmetics can work in it and not disturb the NPCs. They are in the past and it’s fixed. You can make your horse look like a speeder bike and they’ll see only see the horse. The Ezio trilogy, Syndicate and Unity were the only ones in a singular large place. All the others were open world maps like Valhalla. Even the 1st one had you travel to different cities.
It only became a video-game like experience during Unity - Syndicate era. In all the other games it was memory research conducted via historical simulation, so the presence of any kind of store seems absurd, especially in Origins - Valhalla, since the Animus was custom-made. It's like coding your custom Linux-based OS but for some reason it would have an annoying Microsoft Store built into the system when you have a dev tool than can do anything you want already, like loading a different visual overlay. Makes no in-universe sense for the scientist to have an Abstergo store in their history simulation machine.
DOUBT they do this but what if Hexe was a take on the Salem Witch Trials except the Templars are the Witch Hunters who concocted the witch story to hunt an Assassin chapter openly and freely in Salem?
eivor since he was the reincarnation of odin he had him talking while killing templars, since Basim is the same with Loki ,maybe is something like that.
Mirage is a prequel to Valhalla the origin of Basim. The ending isnt zombie. I think it's just Loki spirit which was reincarnated into basin from the Vahalla games.
It's crazy to think how long this franchise has been doing it for. I've been playing them since the first one. I took a shot on it, in a bargain bin at a blockbuster. I was immediately hooked. Then i lost interest in the rpg era. I never liked rpg's. But for some reason... outta nowhere... i started playing more rpg style games. So within the last 6 months or so... i finally tried origins and odyssey. So far. Really fun. But i can't tell you, how excited i am to see mirage. Going back to the old style. I won't lie... the Ezio theme mixed in this trailer... made a tear come to my eye. The Ezio trilogy for me the gold standard Assassin's Creed.
Side note... there's been a big sale on assassin's creed stuff on Xbox... my wife is going to be pissed when she sees what i got. ✌️ see you on the other side
I’m literally the same as Eric that I played the second one first and went back and people said I won’t like it but I did because I loved the franchise
Very hyped for this, I really enjoyed Origins, Odyssey and Valhalla but I recently tried the Ezio games again and damn I miss the older games. Love that they're apparently trying to pay homage to the original
It is in baghdad and alamut apparently (which are in iraq and iran) so they are Arabs and Persians (which is fun cuz the real assassins were actually Arabs and Persians living in alamut)
I feel like Hexe will be a third 3 person horror game like Deadspace and Evil Within, but with witchcraft assassins....I hope they add jumpscares if they're going horror with AC
the first time i heard of and saw AC infinity i thought an AC metaverse and i think it would be could to have something like that ik all the negative thing abt metaverse but hear me out this virtual hub will be a place with every AC map and like recent AC games discovery mode to explore or maybe even teach history
Don't think many people have not realised at the end of ac valhalla basim is actually loki, the reincarnation of loki took over basim unlike with eivor and odin as we the player charicter stopped that basim sadly lost to his sage
Basim is a reincarnation of an Isu named Loki. The terrifying shadow creature is likely the first stage Basim suffers from Loki taking over his mind and slowly dominating him to the point he becomes who Eivor meets in Valhalla. That’s my bet. Can’t wait for this one!
@@MonsterTeegs Hey, no problem! I got you. Valhalla's only a two year old game that has one of its own characters getting a spinoff, implying his story in Valhalla is something you should mostly know about going into said spinoff. You're right, I *totally* should have put a spoiler alert.
Since the working title Hexe is german I wonder if that means the location for this game will be Germany or maybe the region before it actually was Germany.
For people who dont know some zombie guy at the end. His name is Djinn and he has a important role in Basim's evolution and he will appear every memory corridor when Basim kills a target. It has its meanings and secrets.
Djinn is not just a name. Can you please explain better and be respect about the fact? Djinn is an invisible creature in early pre-Islamic Arabian religious systems and later in Islamic culture and beliefs and also Djinn are mentioned approximately 29 times in the Holy Quran. You can say the "zombie" at the end was a djinn that probably belongs to the target that Basim killed based on the beliefs.
Just to tell you Eric. Eivor Varinsdottir is female, not Male. If you chose the Male option you're going against the canon. The Male 3D Model is actually Odin, the Isu.
Hopefully one of the other 2 games then is a main entry thats like Egypt Odyssey and Valhalla. Reverting back to their old style for mirage is the worst decision they could have ever made I dont understand it they saved their franchise by going to the new style and Odyssey was the best AC game ever now they are going back to the old formula that everyone got tired of and didnt want anymore it makes legit 0 sense
Odyssey the best AC? Not by the longest shot possible. It's the best of the new rgp type AC games, yes. But i doesn't hold a candle to the earlier ones in term of story, characters etc.
I'm not even a fan of Valhalla but the fact that Eric can recognise Basim and guess the setting right away is pretty cool.
He literally played Valhalla on stream I hope he'd realize
Eric talking about how he immerses himself with the outfits and literally walking into towns is exactly how I play games, the best way.
I agree with Eric, I’m a history nerd and the AC games scratch my inner history nerd itch - it’s fascinating seeing a different time period
Same and I’m so happy to see the original real assassins finally
My history teacher actually recommended assassins creed to us in 2012 in confidence that we don’t tell our parents. He became a legend 😂
I'm a history and a mythology nerd, so right now Assassins Creed games (especially Odyssey and Valhalla) are perfect for me.
I loved when Basim did the Ezio smirk and drop down landing from the AC2 trailer.

I think Hexe will be set during the witch hunting age throughout old Germany, Francia etc
Coming to this now, Codename red will have a ninja and samurai protagonist
I'm pretty sure hexe is set in 16th - 17th century Germany during the witch hunt but I could be wrong great reaction guys as always
If you did not notice the sympol has an Arabic writings in it says ( الخفي ) which means Mirage or the Invisible.
Hexe will probably play in Germany, since Hexe is the word for witch. In the 15 Century i think were a lot of witch hunts
I wonder if we’re gonna see hytham or Sigurd near the end of this game.
I think Hexe is going to refer to the witch trials in the 16th and 17th Century. I would love to be an assassin that hunts the witch hunters.
