It's a shame that some people don't understand that this is about the Fajr (before dawn) prayer and the fact that many people have throughout the ages experienced true dreams and revelations at this time of the day after waking up to pray at this time. This is the phenomenon that Rumi was referring to here, something that he no doubt experienced many times.

Sure it has its harsh bits, but in all fairness, everything in life and existence comes with duality to those whom judge. I guess it's the eye of the beholder. If one is beautiful on the inside, they will see beauty in all things. If they are of the polar opposite within, they will only spot the same.
