- Lancaster Central Market has 300-year old history. Its impressive builing is 150 years old. Yet the crowd here is young and yappie, food serves different modern tastes, and the entire idea of the community coming together for feast preparation is enticing. One can't levae this market stil being hungry, that's for sure.

Farmers markets are wonderful! Ideally, this should be the way we shop for all of our food…local producers. But, of course, we know how big food and big agriculture has made local production to be very laborious and most of all, very expensive.
I am a bit saddened by the enormous amount of “junk food“ that is made with fake food, (I.e., seed oils”). Nowadays, they seem as prolific in farmers markets as they are in supermarkets. The thing is, we know how damaging they are to our health, and it’s a shame that they get lumped in with all the other healthy offerings at farmers markets and similar outlets. (but that’s just me musing and ranting a bit!😂)

This is in Lancaster PA, about 70 miles outside Philadelphia
it's different town, but Pennsylvania is a country of farmer markets wherever you go
