Super great "anatomy lesson" and closeup views. No one else takes it apart or shows you what it really is, they just show it (but not too close) do the talking head routine and then drive it around. Low-effort channels on here, but you rock. 👍
great review and teardown, it is surprising though that they did not use the same esc/receiver combo (it was inside a plastic casing) that was inside the firehorse. looking at it they installed something similar to what was inside the eazyrc branded ones (exposed esc).
maybe they are trying to keep the electronics cooler for more aggressive crawling? I'm not sure why but Its performance is all that matters to me. Great out the box compared to my other 18th scale trail trucks. Thanks for stopping by!
They REALLY need to STANDARDIZE the Receiver/ESC if its the better FMS and RocHobby versions. My RocHobby Fire Horse has the best ESC and is water-proof. It has a tiny 💧printed on the ESC to let you know it is water-proof. It is also a quieter ESC/motor combination. They have different radios too, kind of frustrating a bit.
yeah the EazyRc jeep I have also has a good esc/receiver. Better than to more expensive fms Katana I have. this fj has a different one than thise 2 I believe and its just as good as the EazyRc jeep one.
Very complete physical review, thanks for all your production work. I also got a two battery version from Banggood. Shipped pretty quick too. I haven't opened mine up yet, guess you pull some screws from the bottom. Any recommendations when removing the body?
I've been saying that it would be nice to see the likes of Element Rc making a IFS rig. I know guys out here that have actual SAS FJs and Tacomas. So not entirely unrealistic just not 100% factory stock.
@@RunThatRC Yeah I think IFS front/solid rear axle chassis in the RC world is quite under-represented at the moment. Only real chassis I can think of is Tamiya's CC-01.
RocHobby/FMS has the technology to do IFS, Independent Front Suspension (correct?). They have it in the 1/12 Kubelwagen and Beetle. All that is needed is proper wishbone or A-arm suspension or whatever the FJ Cruiser has. They could even use the same parts because 1/12 is not that much bigger than 1/18 and some concessions are allowed.....

Hey I just made a similar comment. Should have stopped here first and gave it a like. 🤦🏻♂

The transmitter is modeled after lambo

all the screws are on the bottom to remove the body. just be careful when pulling apart.
the controller does look like a lambo
Even the transmitter they took afforts
they made a good one with this setup.
Hey bro , have you found any oil shocks that will work on this truck ? Thanks
no I haven't tried looking for any but I will see if the fms scx24 shocks work on it.
nice rig my friend
Thanks for the visit
Nice rig where did you get it
I got mine from Banggood.com.(link in description)
How does the width compare to a WPL at the axels?
this is around 115mm wide and WPL c14 is 140mm wide measured tire to tire.
@@RunThatRC thank you very much for the info brother. Congratulation on your channels success. You put in the hard work!
Nice rig but not entirely realistic with a solid front axle. Needs an IFS 😁
