Haha, I actually played this chump yesterday and beat him. He had a different alias, not Chic, but spewed all the same crap after his Marshall blew up. “I am a WINNER and you are a LOSER.” All the same manure. It was hilarious.
He really was a poor sport. You can report to forum moderators on the stratego forum if a player gets too vulgar in chat. You need to take screen shots. That's why it's a good idea to record every game you play. I was just glad he quit. If he kept on playing, he probably would have won the game. That made the victory even more sweet.
These games are nice to win, because I lose a lot of them when they blitz on my flag side. Most of the time I don't know if they were a blitzer because the flag gets scouted in the first 2 moves. Surviving the first 30 moves of every game can be very difficult when they attack the flag side. I'll probably move my Marshal to spot C3 or C4 in future games to better defend against blitzers on my flag side. I don't like putting the Marshal on B4 because I really don't want it to get scouted early in the game. I play poorly when my Marshal gets revealed early in the game since I'm not an aggressive attacker. I think this player had his main account permanently banned. I'm not sure if he's still playing. I'm glad he lost.
Yes, playing with a flag up top is not advisable. I just do it now for fun. I always say my games are more exciting than everybody else. I wanted to do some beginner tutorials to help bronze and silver players get better. I got permission to make the account I'm playing to make videos from beginners to show their mistakes and mine. I didn't think it was fair to lose intentionally when I played them or to beat them straight up playing at a low level. To even the playing field, I decided to play with the flag up top. It's very, very hard to win. 100 - 300 ELO players are more likely to beat me than 400-600 level players. The lower level players scout more and lotto more with high pieces. I no longer play conventional Stratego with the flag in the back row. Now I'm trying to get to ELO 600 by just playing with the flag on A4 or J4.
I don't know what happened to Bob. I tried messaging him through youtube, but he never got back to me. He stopped making videos after his 1st year anniversary on youtube. Then he simply vanished. He hasn't logged into the stratego forum and hasn't played a game there since his last video on youtube. His videos were always entertaining to watch. It was fun watching him improve as a player. I hope he's OK.

Your losing percentage would be lower if you didn't have the flag in the front? Have you heard from Bob? Is he gonna do anymore streaming?
