Agree, the hard edges of the lightbar spot are not ideal. Whilst good distance is important, I have found that an even spread of light is easier on the eyes and makes skippy and other animals stand out better.
That softer edge is definitely more pleasant . I don't tend to notice it too much on normal roads but when you, it stands out like male dog bits. I'm wondering if the moved the projector lenses forward that might stop the hard edge a bit.
Haha only the bit you see. I try and cut the beating around the bush part out as much as I can. Sometimes it works sometimes it doesn't. Hope all is well
Good to see you back mate, good honest review, they seem to make a pretty decent product without the big price tag, keep the videos coming mate, I really enjoy them
Thanks for that. It would be interesting to see what your firewall grommet looks like. I’m about to start putting a light bar, dual battery and trailer Anderson plug through my NX so would be interesting to get an idea of how full they can get
Given I have only 1 uhf radio and some dual-core cabling going to the rear of my Pajero and think the firewall grommet on my NW is as full as I'd like to see it, Brett's grommet would like a rugby scrum: you know, 3 guys trying to push 2 guys heads up one guy's....🤣
Oh shit yes, mine is chockas. From memory I've got 3 coax, one control cable for the big hf antenna, a couple of switches (small guage), a 6g power for an amp and a 0g cable for my dcd etc over the back. Might be something I've missed m maybe I just need to show you my technique for getting wires through when it gets tight 😁
Gday Brett Great to see you back Very nice review & excellent quality light bar. The front of Pajero looks Spot on ( sorry very bad pun ) Regardless mate top review Cheers
Thanks for the review. Ive been watching tgese videos for days and having watched this one, ive decided i dont want that spot on the 5D Pro. Ill be heading to a 52" standard bar and amber side shooters. It was yoir night driving and tbe distracting spot going into the trees and signs that sealed it for me, thanks.
Yeah they bother me too. I've found its the on all the 'laser' type lights. I'm just not a fan. The light is great though, just not so much the beam pattern.
Have read a few good reviews on the STEDI stuff, I fitted their Ironman Bullbar replacement fog / DRL's and am happy with them, no issues and easy instructions with a half decent harness.
Agree with Graham below re Stedi,, I've only got their small floods but theyre very well made and work great. Supernova seem to be doing good things but I've not seen them in person. Just lots of reviews on here. But as with any reviews, as with mine, you've got to take them in context and try for yourself. Of course, if your wallet will allow, you can go further up the list to Baja designs and Rigid industries for well known brands . here's a useful site I found that you might like to check out (no affiliation) unsealed4x4.com.au/essential-guide-led-driving-lights/
Great review Brett. Good to see you back . I respect the honesty on your reviews not a lot of people do it these days. Only in it for the money. Are you going to the pajero meet in november at the watagans?
Hey Paul, some suppliers (not auxbeam) have offered to send stuff for review but are asking for a contract to be signed and to review the video before it's released and I'm starting to see that reflected in other peoples videos. That's not something I'm comfortable with. The contract even says you can't tell people about the contract. A little bit fight club ( first rule and all that) and Quite disingenuous I think. I don't like the way it's heading. All good and thanks for the comment 😁. Sorry went on a rant there.
@@DENMONKEY Wow that's crazy. If a company is genuinely confident in their product why select the positive only reviews? Genuine feedback is always the best. Everybody has an opinion and some are good and some are bad. Its up to the individual to see through it and make an informed decision.. There's not enough people like you around anymore giving honest feedback on what you see using the equipment. Most are just after a quick buck whatever it takes. Credibility is a very hard thing to get these days. Keep up the good work
But where is the fun in that Fred 😁. Mate if I didn't have the channel id still be happy with my $120 eBay set. I was very impressed for the price and they still sit in the shed waiting for me to come up with a way to put them back into service.
i have a problem with the 42in, roof mounted, after driving to the foggy mountain 13c temp and when back home the temp is 24c, the next morning found water vapour inside the lens, any idea how to overcome this problem?
I've got their 22" and 7" round lights, they shine good, but they still don't penetrate or seem as bright as my old school 150 watt sealed beam kc daylighters...
I bought their side shooter a while back and it was a bitter disappointment, build quality is woeful, leaks like a sieve & is unsealable, the side shooters are more of a gimmick than a useful item... I give Auxbeam due regard though, as they were quick to respond after I sent an email with images etc... they quickly offered a replacement or full refund which I accepted. I probably would not buy from them again though considering the BCF / Supercheap stuff is comparable in price and the build quality is superior for the price point. It will be interesting to see what he longevity is like as after trying to reseal mine I found that heat dissipation was very poor & the polycarbonate lens is only .6mm at best. As for the rock lights they would be great for Christmas mounted around the sides of the roof basket
Cheers mate. That's what I like about this forum. You can get the good and the bad. I have seen some new gear turning up at super cheap with similar focal designs. Haveing taken stuff back to sc for warranty and never having an issue would definitely give me confidence in trying them. I've learnt to value after sales service as much as the product itself these days. Good to hear they sorted your issue. It's hard to give an opinion on that from a review, since I think the treatment of someone doing a review vs a customer could be quite different. One would hope not but thats probably being a bit naive. Thanks for taking the time, it's appreciated.
What state is that ? My previous install with the 22 light bar and 7 inch driving lights fit nicely inside the bull bar limits, so I think I would have been ok. This set up, would be easy pickings I think if a cop decided to check it. I'm heading to a 4wd gig next month and the cops are known to sit there and detect vehicles. I'll need to be careful.

@@DENMONKEY inox spray is my best friend when trying to get spaghetti through a rubber grommet
@@graememellor8319 I do love my innox.. Not tried it for that though
You have very good lighting, but forward vision is impeded (distracted) by the two-way radio antennas. Kind of counter productive isn't it??
Gday Brett
Great to see you back

Great review, any suggestions on mid to upper range light bars with better spread? Not too fussed about throw down the road..

Maybe the lights would be wider if we send a longer light bar 😂
Happy to try it if you want to send one out.
Is that an HF antenna? If so explain what ya got going there ? Im a fellow ham
