  • STANFORD UNIVERSITY, October 6, 2022 - Asia Society CEO and Former Prime Minister of Australia Kevin Rudd and former Secretary of State Dr. Condoleezza Rice sit down in a packed auditorium for a special conversation about his new book, The Avoidable War: The Dangers of a Catastrophic Conflict between the U.S. and Xi Jinping’s China.
The relationship between the U.S. and China, the world’s two superpowers, is peculiarly volatile. It rests on a seismic fault-of cultural misunderstanding, historical grievance, and ideological incompatibility. The Avoidable War demystifies the actions of both sides, explaining and translating them for the benefit of the other.
This event is the fourth of eight in Asia Society Northern California’s popular Seeking Truth Through Facts U.S.-China Program Series, which focuses on new strategic frameworks for the bilateral relationship, as well as the global impact of the political and economic landscape. This program will lead up to our fifth annual Future of U.S. & China Conference on January 12, 2023.

First, the West respect the one China policy, so the logically thing is support reunification and urge Taiwan to work towards reunification . Secondly, and here’s the thing, 95% of Chinese approval of the CCP government, so Taiwan will do very well united to China. To agree to the one China policy and then arm Taiwan to the tilt to perpetuate separation will grow the thorn in the side of east west relations to no good outcome. Remove the thorn and lots of good things will come.

where did you get 95% approval rate from? Does it refer only to people from the mainland? Did you get opinion from people from TW? Re-unification, need two side to act.
