    I really enjoyed listening to this. Amanda was brilliant in the days of the word. She’s incredibly talented bright & strong. I admire her strength hugely. A great listen. Thanks to Ferne for having her on. Look forward to part 2! X

    Hi Fearne, thinking about what you said about not being able to 'get rid' of physical feelings of anxiety, I'm reading Breaking the Habit of Being Yourself by Dr Joe Dispenza and it's brilliant on why this happens. His recent podcast with Dr Rangan C is excellent too 👌

      Hi Karen I have that book, but it’s so big, I can’t quite face reading it. Can you tell me which section/pages address the phenomenon of the physical sensations of anxiety? TIA 🙏

      @@skippy7208 hi there, to be honest it's all relevant. I tend to read a little bit at a time and give myself time to absorb it.

    So, is your ego that is preventing you to apologise to JD???

      She certainly does owe him an apology. I'm a survivor of domestic violence, and it's really triggering for me that the people who supported his abuser don't have the integrity to now apologize. To the point that I couldn't watch this interview, and I usually really enjoy this channel.

    I like Amanda De Cadenet but I'm a bit fed up of her misrepresenting her time line. The Word was first broadcast in August 1990, Amanda turned 18 in May of that year. So she wasn't a child when she started in TV, she was very young to be a presenter on a live late night music/entertainment show but for crying out loud stop with the exaggeration!

    • @sheila6186
      @sheila6186 2 года назад +4

      18 may be the age of an "adult" in the eyes of the law, but it still constitutes a very immature and vulnerable young person. Most people don't begin to mature properly, psychologically, until age 24 or 25.

    • @TitianTopsyTurvy
      @TitianTopsyTurvy 2 года назад +4

      @@sheila6186 I don't disagree that at 18 people are still quite vulnerable and have a lot of growing up to do. There are probably quite a lot of parents of teenaged deceased members of the armed services that would argue the same and at least Amanda wasn't in life threatening situations because of her job. However that doesn't alter the fact that Amanda has repeatedly stated she was 15 years old when she started presenting "The Word" on UK television but in truth she was 18 years old. She makes it look like she was being exploited as a child by a television company. In truth when Amanda was 15 she was doing all sorts of inappropriate things (for her age) but it very much looked like her choice (she may have been manipulated/coerced, although she hasn't stated that is what happened). In any case it certainly wasn't a television company taking advantage of her when she was 15.

    De Cadanet has an odd way of changing her accent and demeanour dependent who she speaks to.

    Unfortunately, Amanda is clearly a very poor judge of character as she supported a domestic abuse perpetrator for too long. Therefore, in my mind it discredits much of what she has to say on life in general.
