  • The United States Congress established the Days of Remembrance as America's annual commemoration of the victims of the Holocaust and created the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum as a permanent living memorial to those victims. The Museum designated "Justice and Accountability in the Face of Genocide: What Have We Learned?" as the theme for the 2011 observance.
The Museum's 2011 National Days of Remembrance ceremony, featuring Supreme Court Justice Stephen Breyer, was webcast live from the U.S. Capitol Rotunda on Tuesday, May 17 at 11:30 a.m. EST. In this excerpt, cantor Josh C. Perlman sings El Maley Rachamim and Rabbi Israel Arbeiter recites Kaddish.

Knew Cantor Josh when he resided in Albuquerque, New Mexico and have never forgotten how his voice carries for the 6 million of our people. I have always cried for 38 murdered in my family. Todah Rabah Cantor.

I still cant come to grips with the fact that the most gruesome crime against humanity has taken place against our brothers and sisters..
