    Hopefully this will work, although it adds to overall complexity. I would have done all this in a much more simple way:
    1. make totals work on any complex visual automatically
    2. make more typical quick measures and name them something more earthly

      I am afraid you might be missing the point. Any quick measures would still resolve in very complicated DAX, which is not solving the core problem.
