My in-laws are buried at Mountain Home and it is a beautiful place. In college it was a favorite place to go and find peace and beauty.

My sister and brother-in-law live in Johnson City. They go to Mountain Home cemetery when they have veterans events. I've never been but they tell me it is a peaceful and beautiful place.
Thank you for the interesting history lesson. I really enjoy your stories of the Appalachia area.

Growing up in Clintwood, I used to think of Bristol, Kingsport and Johnson City as being big cities. Well, they're cities, anyway. Each had malls, and I remember going out to the malls with my friends on a weekend. Driving much of the day to get there and back, we made the most of each visit. Fond memories of those trips.
I knew of Judge Parker before this video, as I am something of a history buff. "The Hanging Judge" was himself, a very interesting character. I didn't know a lot about Maledon before this though.
It's always great to get a new video from the two of you on RUclips. I've been following the podcast since you guys started out. I was just talking about some of your Clintwood-centric episodes with the mrs yesterday!

Thanks, as always. It's fun to do a Dickenson County story, especially since Rod is related to a lot of the folks involved in those bits of history!
