I'm the same age as Pedro and my dad didn't let me see the Breakfast Club until I was a teenager. But I also was allowed to see First Blood, Alien, and a bunch of other "R" movies the moment they showed up on HBO or TV. He considered them fantasy, while TBC was real life.
My mother got my friends and me into the theater to see Breakfast Club. Bought a ticket and then left us there. Only cool thing she ever did. Still can't believe that happened.

Her brother was 18 and dropped us, they refused us so we ran out got her brother, pooled our money and bought his ticket and he walked us in then walked out the exit (my idea).
My youngest brother and I saw Star Wars on the first day it opened in the San Francisco cinema with largest screen, and it’s impossible to overstate just how jaw-dropping that opening scroll of the title was. Absolutely light years different from anything we had ever seen.
Same here! Look, Return of the Jedi might not have been as well written and as deep as Empire Strikes Back, but it was just as grand in scale and it was a feel good conclusion to the original trilogy. And that is why it's my favorite Star Wars film. Also, that laugh at 4:52 is just perfect.
Yep agree! At the time ROTJ was my fave as I was a kid but I really didn't like the changes made in the 90s remaster, especially when they changed the music acts in Jabber's Palace and at the end of ROTJ. Of the three I think Empire had the least CGI updates and so it is my current fave.😄
