Enjoyed the second part of this video. I worked as a seasonal park ranger at Lassen Volcanic National Park the summer of 1980 when Mt. St. Helens was erupting. Lots of people were driving the Volcanic Legacy route for their vacation that year. Many of them had coffee cans of Mt. St. Helens ash in their trunks. I still have some of the ash samples I was given then.
What a crazy summer. Back in Sacramento for the holidays now. Safe travels. Bill

Newberry National Volcanic Monument at the top of the Volcanic Byway is a lot of fun. You could easily spend a week or two. There are two lakes, Paulina and East, that are great for fishing. Lots of hiking trails. Obsidian Flow. Hot springs on the edge of Paulina Lake. Scary drive up to the top of Paulina Peak. You can see Crater Lake and Mount Shasta on a clear day from up there.

These tips of yours always help! (I was also curious about the wood harvesting in burn areas! I’ve got to research that!)

Family history is challenging when the business is sold - now the final blow is the sale of the assets which produced history for the Family from the Battleship Texas, Deer Lease Camping and country cemeteries and churches - good run from 1892/1879 - NOW the next First Generation is required to sustain the family’s virtues & entrepreneurship.
